  1. Thanks guys. It worked!! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I would have never figured it out on my own.
  2. Hi. Is there any way to keep a Cakewalk channel active when you click on something else on your computer? Here's what's going on. I've got two monitors, and will have Cakewalk in one, and YouTube in the other (typically showing me a guitar lesson). I'll run my guitar into Cakewalk and dial in some great effects. As soon as click to start YouTube, my sound completely cuts out of Cakewalk because the channel is no longer selected. I CAN start the video, then click on the channel in Cakewalk and be have everything work as long as I don't change anything, but the trouble is as soon as I pause the video, or back it up, or click on it in any way, I lose my guitar sound again. I'm not sure this is possible, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks so much.
  3. Hey, that works! Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know about that.
  4. Thanks for your thoughts. Last night I kept trying to figure out a way to control the Helix's master volume, or even the track's volume via the foot pedal, but so far I haven't found the solution to do that. What I have learned is that it's fairly easy to edit each patch so that the volume is controlled with the pedal. I'm glad this is at least an option, but I'd still like to find a way to just control the master volume of everything all at once. Since Helix Native is more designed for recording, and not really for live playing, maybe they didn't make the Helix Native's master volume or input volume midi mappable. Still, I would think that I should be able to find a way to control Cakewalk's track volume with the volume pedal. I'm brand new to this version of Cakewalk, so I'm thinking I'm just doing something right on mapping the midi this way.
  5. Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestion and changed the cc to 7, but it did the same thing as before (the midi meters flash when I move the volume pedal, but there is no change in the actual sound volume). Here are some further details about what I'm doing, so hopefully someone can catch what I'm missing. I'm running a midi channel and an audio channel within Cakewalk in order to control my Helix Native plug-in's snapshots with a foot controller. The volume pedal attaches to the midi foot controller. I want it to raise and lower the volume within the Helix Native plug-in. I'd also settle for the volume pedal controlling the master volume of the whole Cakewalk program, but that's less than ideal. Here is a picture and some notes on what's going on on my screen. Thanks again for anyone's help.
  6. Hi. With the forum's help, I recent got a M-Vave Chocolate Midi Controller to work properly with Cakewalk, and change Snapshots within the Helix Native Plugin. Today, I added a volume pedal to the Midi Controller, but can't seem to get that to do anything. In the software for the controller, I set the expressing pedal to Midi Ch 1, the cc # to 11, the lossen value to 127 and the Step on Value to 0. When I go to Cakewalk and move the pedal, I see that Cakewalk is getting the midi signal, and I can see the green lights on the mixed respond to the pedal, but the volume does not change. If you have any help or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
  7. That's what I though initially, but when I tried doing it that way, it wouldn't let me control the Snapshots correctly. When I researched how to do this in various DAWS, several sources talked about creating a midi track and then routing it through the audio track (which is completely new to me). . When I researched how to do this in Cakewalk, I came across the video that I mentioned. Following the video's instructions, it just seems like there is no audio input from an audio interface in the chain at all. I feel like I'm either not understanding something, or the directions are a little off.
  8. Hi. I'm trying to use a Chocolate Midi Foot Controller to change the SnapShots in Helix Native. The good news is (after following a Youtube video very closely) I got the pedals to change the snapshots. The bad news is I've got no sound! Argh! If I just put in a regular audio track and turn on "Input Echo" the sound plays through me UR22 Audio Interface and sounds great, but when I do the "split instrument track" setting (so I can use the foot switches) no sound comes out. Please help! I'm using Windows 10, a Steinberg UR22 USB Audio Interface, and of course Cakewalk and Helix Native. Here's what I did, and what I'm seeing: 1) I created an Instrument track in Cakewalk and for the instrument I chose VST3/Line6/Helix Native. 2) For Input, I'm using "USB -Midi /Midi Channel 1" The other options it gives me are: All Inputs, 2-Steinberg UR22-1. or Virtual Controller. 3) In the Advanced setting, I chose "Split Instrument Track". At the bottom of the 'Add Track" window, the Output is listed as "Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO: UR22" 4) Within the Helix Window, I chose VST and make sure Enable Midi is checked. Note- It is greyed out, but it is checked. 5) I then clicked Plug in properties and make sure the boxes are checked for "Enable as Plug-in" and " Configure as Synth" It seems like I must have something wrong with it going from the UR22, but I'm not sure what, or where I would change that. Either that, or I'm just missing a simple step in Cakewalk. Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts, I'd really appreciate it. I spent all day trying to solve this and got nowhere. Just for reference, here is the Youtube video I followed. From what I can tell, the ONLY thing I'm doing differently than the Youtube video is that they are using bluetooth for their controller and I'm using a USB cable. Since the switches are doing what they are supposed to, I'm assuming that isn't the problem. Thanks again!!!
