  1. This explains the gravitational force exerted on my wallet at peak posting times...you're two miles away.
  2. Larry, I'm in Livonia and we're still dealing with brownouts...but still got SOME juice. Gonna be cooler today. Maybe we should ask Bandlab to donate a generator to keep the forum humming!
  3. So I have a ton of questions about MODO Drum, as many probably still do. Asking a few here in case anyone has heard the answers (or if Peter wants to fill in gaps): Will I be able to use my 3rd party midi files inside the platform (ie: I can organize MIDI files a la SD3 or BFD3) using their directory structure and will there be drum maps to accommodate? Will IK be releasing new grooves in the future for MODO Drum? On the Kits & Grooves page for MODO Drum, there is an image that shows ride cymbal choices of Ride 20" IK, Ride 22" IK, Ride 24" IK, Ride 20" Vintage, Ride 22" Vintage. Ride 24" Vintage, Ride 20" Elegance, and Ride 22" Elegance. That's 2-3 ride cymbals per set. In their instrument list however, it states that there are 3 cymbal sets that include one ride cymbal each. Any idea which setup is the real one? Are the parameters for the 8 convolution-based room reverbs editable? Do any of the on-board effects include presets? I need another drum VST like I need another nostril, but I'm interested nonetheless if it is flexible enough.
  4. Hey, Mesh. I went back and forth with whether to upgrade and i'm glad I did. There seems to be more sonic glue in these profiles over and above what I get using stock presets and adding my own IRs which were very good to begin with. Just an opinion, for sure. I'm embarrassed at how many amp sims I've chased; variety is good, no question, but dam*. ZincT, the real meat of the libraries is found not in the presets themselves but by clicking on the patch name in the amp (kemper?) head. There's over 240 of them for the Friedman amp alone and can take some time to sift through. Based on them changing amps, stomp boxes, cabs, etc. for each set up, there's a ton of variety for anyone. My only gripe is that you can't change the settings on any of the outside hardware independently; mics and pedals come baked in to each rig. Having said that, there are 240 setups....
  5. I went for both of these expansions and am not disappointed. I don't know if I really need anything else in the amp sim category but still holding out hope for a new Scuffham release this summer.
  6. Thanks for the response, John - glad I asked!!!
  7. Yeah, I've been saving up for LCO since it was released earlier this year. This year, it was going to be K11U upgrade to K12CE, but LCO came along. They've released some really nice instruments via their LAB program, so I'm all set for sound-type stuff for the year. Dang, forgot about MODODRUM.
  8. No worries, Larry. Picked up London Contemporary Orchestra Evolutions for $209. Looking for Ambient inspiration? Look no further.
  9. Yep - FIRST30. Sorry, its at the top of the Spitfire site - forgot to mention that.
  10. Not sure if anyone's seen this but I've been a Spitfire customer for a while and the 30% off worked for my...6th order. Ends this evening, but they're in London so their " this evening" might be your afternoon - or maybe it's already tomorrow where you live! https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/
  11. Anyone using this or have experience with the unit? I'll have to update my TASCAM US 122 MkII at some point but not sure if this would be an upgrade in features or sound/preamps.
  12. When do you think this will show up in the MAX bundle? I have enough Jam points to get this down to $150 so if I was going to do it, it would be now vs. waiting a year for it to go on sale, etc.
  13. Any idea how long it will be "pre-order"? Can't believe I'm considering this, what with BFD3, SD3, and all. I mean, we have promotional videos - that's all - and yet, my Jam Points are at the ready. No way I would jump at this at full price.
  14. I played with it last night. It's gorgeous. Granted, I've not used a lot of choir libraries outside of what comes with Symphobia, but this is entirely different. The legatos are lovely and the phrase builder is really cool, too. The arc swell patches are inspirational. I can't give you an experienced, professional take on the library but the sounds are chillingly good. I have been waiting for this since the Lacrimosa/Requiem deal a few weeks back. Not the $98/$149 bargain those were but this style and sound are what I've been dying to put into a project with the likes of Albion Tundra. Just figgers I had to leave town for work this weekend.
  15. Guess I'm not gonna update to KU12CE after all...
  16. Yup. I'm holding out for Silka or Insolidus. Someday. They had Lacrimosa on sale for $98 in Feb or March, but the bundle is tough to pass up. As always, there's a good deal of commentary on VI Control .

  18. That's not real unless its on Soundcloud. Please tell me its on Soundcloud!!!!!!!!
  19. These plugins never go on sale unless you have one already and get a discount email. I love them - extremely flexible, great UIs, and resizeable. Barricade is probably their best known plugin but all the V4 versions are keepers. Great prices already but I'll get the rest with this sale.
  20. Just to add a few observations coming from TH1 all the way to TH-U: As far as inspiring goes, I find the amp tweaking to be very useful, moreso on some amps vs. others but on most. Adds a lot of variation to a single amp head. The new IR loader is MUCH easier to use. I prefer the old UI - easier on the eyes but I hear there will be updates. The value of the Rig Player is TBD. I think they need more modules out there to show the range of possibilities. The controls don't seem to have as much an effect on overall sound as I expected but I probably haven't played with it enough. New amps - very nice additions, both clean and high gain. Their Bugera is brutal!!! I do like some of the Italian amps that I would never have heard of if they weren't in TH-U. I worked with Red at Overloud to translate their splash pages for TH-U. If the rest of the Overloud crew are as professional and accommodating as he is, I definitely will support them in the future. The only reason it wasn't a no-brainer deal for me is that TH3 is already so flipping good. Glad I updated anyway but YMMV.
  21. Wow. I like this update more than 4.0 - lots of great functional updates (plugin manager, waveform improvements, etc.). I was concerned that it was all things EDM from here on out, but there's a number of big improvements for instrument recording, CPU efficiency, etc. in addition to the MIDI updates.
  22. I was thinking along those lines as well. The articulations are equally unique in both. I don't have a solo strings collection besides a couple of Fluffy Audio instruments so I hope to use at least some of the louder solo string patches in British Drama Toolkit with the softer edge in Albion V. I really want to take the dive with Albion One for a more traditional orchestral tool but find myself going back to the Tundra "sound" more often than not. Seems like BDT is a natural progression for me.
  23. Matthew, have you tried mixing British Drama Toolkit with Albion V? I'm considering BDT for that reason but not sure if it will work. It seems to be a good deal at the Wish List price.
