  1. Default settings- 44.1khz and match Windows settings exactly. After relaunch, I loaded Start Screen ->"Empty Project" then set up synth track from scratch... but the Sample rate reported by the interface had switched to 96Khz before even opening up the template...🤔 Granted this is an older unit that is discontinued and the drivers have not been updated in several years. I am leaning towards a windows/driver issue rather than a CbB issue here. One thing I did do recently that I just thought of, was hook up an NI Rig Kontrol I had lying around (latest drivers for that) that has a low end WDM audio Interface built in, maybe a conflict going on there as well...will have to remove that and get back to where everything was prior to that. I just love all the Technical Crap that gets in the way of making music...NOT...maybe I will just break out my old 4 track Portastudio and be done with computers!!!😋 Peace, Blindeddie
  2. Well an interesting thing, this behavior is happening for me now. My interface (Presonus Firestudio project) will switch sample rates to 96Khz when I open CbB...no default project even loaded. This started happening a day or two ago after CbB crashed. Here are the details of what happened. I loaded an Instrument into the synth rack, (AAS -Lounge Lizard Session) I chose MIDI Source and First synth Audio output (not simple Instrument Track) then I attempted to delete the MIDI source track and got the dreaded "Fatal Exception error" Re-opened Cakewalk and tried loading the synth again (simple Instrument track this time) put in some midi notes, and it played at double speed (the project indicates that the sample rate is 44.1 khz. Looked at the Control panel for the Interface and it was reporting that the sample rate was 96Khz. Windows was updated about 2-3 weeks ago to the latest build, but I had not seen this behavior until just the other day. I have a minidump from when I get the error, so if that might help see what might have gone wrong, I can provide that file. Not a complete show stopper, as the sample rate change does not happen consistently, I just have to check to see what the Sample rate the Interface is reporting and if it is wrong, close CbB adjust sample rate of Interface, then restart CbB. Takes one or two tries, but eventually I can get them synced up. Any info or assistance would be great Peace, Blindeddie
  3. Yes, you can delete the zip file as it is just a way to put all the sample files into one file for ease of download. If you have access to download the Zip at any time, then best to let them "Store" it for you. Do be aware though that Companies go out of business and some day it may not be available for download anymore, so best to make some sort of Backup. I buy cheap 16Gb and 32Gb thumb drives, copy the zip to them and then label and put away in case I ever need them. Peace, Blindeddie
  4. take a look at the manual page 1458, it appears that projects may hold the sample rate info that it was recorded with, and in turn CW will change the sampling rate on the fly to accommodate the project defined sample rate... I had a similar issue at one point that when opening older projects I started with a 48khz would freeze and I would hear a slight pop, then the project would load. I could be wrong, but the section on " to change the sample rate of a project" on page 1460 makes me think this is the case. in your case, if this is blank/new project, I would think the default template may have the 192khz 256 buffer settings saved in it. 5. Sustain is MIDI CC 64, so you need to add the event to the control lane (at the bottom of the PRV) and then draw in the sustains (64-127 for Sustain, 0-63 for no Sustain) see page 812 of the reference guide on detailed info about adding MIDI CC in PRV. Peace, Blindeddie
  6. Press the CTRL key, Click and Scroll... increments/decrements in larger values... Hope that helps! Peace, Blindeddie
  7. Here is an old link to Dim Pro system requirements. I would assume, that any new laptop would work just fine... https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/Dimension-Pro/Support Peace, Blindeddie
  8. double click My Computer--> right click the HD you want to check, select Properties. that will give you basic hard drive info.
  9. Are you running CbB as an administrator? I have a couple of plugins that gave me issues after I upgraded to win10 pro and running CbB as an Admin fixed those issues. this may help with the not responding on close issue where CbB is trying to save the file and windows may require admin rights. and before you say your user account is an Admin Account, that is only partially true, even with UAC turned all the way down, windows. will still ask admin confirmation for certain tasks. not sure if that is exactly your problem, but a good troubleshooting start point. keep us updated! 10. OK, finally got it working for both at the same time! in frustration before, I just shut down CbP and walked away for a while, restarted CbP and it was working. Transport Control works, 4-way Encoder works (turn to scroll timeline, click up down to move tracks, click left right to scroll through track property fields) for Mute,Solo and Arm, once highlighted, just press Enter on your keyboard to engage/disengage. Fields with Context Menus, press enter, up/down arrow to highlight a selection and enter again. Keyboard works, plays any VSTi in the synth rack... Also works perfectly with Komplete Kontrol Plugin. Maybe the fact that I was frantically changing drivers that it (or I ) got confused and restarting/walking away just made everything fall into place. Peace Blindeddie
  11. So I have been playing with this for a while, and after reading on the NI forums how someone got it to work in Reaper, I got it to work in CbB with my M32 (sort of)...the rub being that I can use it as a Transport control OR a Midi Controller, but not both at the same time... I had to disable KOMPLETE KONTROL M32 MIDI in Midi devices and only have Komplete Kontrol DAW enabled. Then the Play/Stop Record controls worked (nothing else though) but No Keyboard input using that device. I enable the KK M32 Midi device and the Keyboard Plays, but the Transport controls do not work... so basically, useless for both at the same time. you do have to use the MMcL Mackie Control #1 2,3 etc and disable handshake in the configuration as listed above by msmcleod if you want to try it out yourself to see what I am talking about. I basically did this just to see if it would work or not, does not concern me too much as I have an MCU Pro to use for transport control. And I want to thank msmcleod for the link to those new control surface drivers as the only thing that has bugged me for years about the MCU in Sonar/CbB was the "Faders not returning to zero on project exit" when I saw those faders zero out, I almost pissed myself...Ha...not really. Again. Thanks!!!👍 Peace Blindeddie
