Neither can I. Anywhere north of Vero Beach Florida is too cold for me. IMO ice and snow only belong in two places (1) the upper section of your refrigerator or (2) your cold drink. ;)

Congrats Shane, I hope it turns out better than you expect.

Can’t say I don’t agree. Loved snow when I was younger but once I retire my wife and I are heading south! Anything below 50 degrees is too cold at this age…

  2. EDIT: Not an issue. Thought I had restarted Sonar (as it says "Requires Restart"), but I may have just closed/reopened the project. After a complete Sonar restart the note blobs scale as well. Nice!

Noticed one glitch with the Custom Scaling. When you go above 100% (at least on my 3840x2160) the PRV note names get cut off.

    Here is 100%:

Here is 105% - the top of the note names get cut off. Maybe the note blobs need to scale as well?

Yes it only hides the VST2 when an equivalent VST3 is available.

Reviving this thread as the "Hide related VST2 plugins" that @Noel Borthwick mentioned (and which I knew about) does not work for me in latest Sonar build (2024.04-BSP Build 431).

Not sure if it's across the board, or only for some plugins.

Here's an example - I still see the Kilohearts VST2s even though I've got the hide option checked. Is there something I'm missing?

  4. I'm going to download all the free Labs instruments as a lot of them are great ... just in case. I can't handle any more subscriptions and use a Virtual Credit Card for any trials or "50% off" 1-year subscriptions (that I'd be more inclined to keep at the discounted price) - that way, when they try to "automatically" renew, the charge fails.

I thought you were joking!! Apparently not.

After watching it I was so moved that all I could think of: spirituality.

First thing is I couldn't believe the rich voice  coming out of this skinny guy. Then I thought the orchestra in the back was just waiting for them three to do their little thing and get off the stage.

But my impression, as this was the first time ever seeing this "audience choir" thing, was that the crowd responded to his gestures with out a word being spoken. Which was amazing to me and testament of the common spiritual nature of all of us.

The I saw Sal's post about the choir and really thought that  he was making a joke (a good one at that!)  about the video. I clicked the link fully expecting to see some BS choir from NI!!

Then when I saw the actual "Audience Choir" lib I was left... less than "spiritual". Yep, that crowd was expecting what happened. It wasn't a spontaneous event, which is what I thought was happening.

Anyway, I watched this drinking my first cup of coffee and enjoyed it regardless.

[edit] Thanks for the link Sal

Hey @Grem, glad you got the NI Jacob Collier Audience Library! Guess I should have been clear that it was a real thing! It's a cool instrument. Love the foot stomps, the "Yes", "No" shoutouts, etc. Highly recommended.

Don't see the need for that.

It's obvious where one ends and the other starts, and a thick-ish border eats up screen estate.

@Bristol_Jonesey, I think there should be some delineation between them. As I mentioned - not a graphic artist, so my sample line is much thicker/wider than it would need to be. Just a subtle line would be great, in my opinion.

So, it looks like I have PCIe low profile slots. Never had a computer so narrow before.

Man, what is up with the prices of graphics cards lately? And since the machine is a refurbished 12-year-old HP Compaq, is it even worth doing more upgrades? I sure don't want to pay more for a video card than I paid for the computer ($90).

For now, I'll just get used to a single monitor while I wait for W 10's imminent demise and save for the next one.

A 12-year old PC is hopelessly outdated. A refurbished one? That's even worse. Don't put a dime into it - just my opinion...

  8. From what I've learned, you can download/install Sonar. It is technically in pre-release status but is probably close to fully baked.

You need a Backstage Pass in order to save a project (after the 3-day trial period). I'd suggest paying for a monthly backstage pass until they formally release pricing, as we don' yet know whether it will be subscription based, one time price, both, etc.

i can reproduce the EZD 3 (3.0.6) issue - the audio engine drops if i drag the MIDI from a track, but does NOT drop if i drag from the browser. the EZB (1.1.8) - cannot reproduce issue - works either way.

note: this is a new completely blank project. EZD and ESB inserted in synth rack - one audio, one MIDI track per each. same MIDI content from track and browser.

Thanks Glenn for testing. I'll do more testing tomorrow and post my findings.

There is an option at the bottom of the Options tab of the Track View submenu called 'Stop at Project End' that will cause the behavior described in a new, empty project where the 'End' is effectively at 1:01:000. If you disabled it, the transport will run in an empty project. I always leave it disabled.

Thanks David - that worked to prevent the drop out on an empty project. That quirk was just something I noticed, but I still have no idea why the audio engine craps out so often with the Toontrack products - or whether it's Toontrack or Cakewalk/Sonar that causes the issue. I'm tagging @Noel Borthwick and @msmcleod to see if they can offer any insight, or of there is anything I can test for them to try and figure out why the Toontrack dropouts happen so often/predictably.

does yr "empty" prj template include any toontrack stuff?

Empty project has no Toontrack stuff. Also, just loading a stock template, pressing spacebar will kill audio engine.

Track View > Options > Stop at Project End

David, not sure what you mean by this...

  12. I'm still having audio engine dropouts when using Toontrack products (EZdrummer, Bass, Keys) as described in this thread:

The problem persists in the latest build of Sonar. Not sure if it's a Toontrack issue or a Sonar issue.

I've also noticed that if you load a new project template (mine or a stock one), the audio engine will stop if you just hit the spacebar. This did/does not occur in CbB,

Can anyone reproduce this? I'm wondering if there is an underlying issue with my installation that can be causing the dropouts.
