Storm Chasers Check In! (This means you Bill!)
RobertWS replied to craigb's topic in The Coffee House
1) Anecdotal 'evidence' is meaningless and useless: It's like saying I can't get a job so the economy is bad. 2) The 1900 Galveston hurricane was the deadliest hurricane in the history of the United States, killing between 6,000 and 12,000 people. And the population was less dense than it is now. 3) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-1600_Atlantic_hurricane_seasons Relax, the climate is fine. -
Storm Chasers Check In! (This means you Bill!)
RobertWS replied to craigb's topic in The Coffee House
I tell people that ALL THE TIME! It is the best of times! We are living in the lap of luxury. Hot showers, air conditioning, the ability to drive anywhere we want, food is plentiful, dentists available, clothes washers, dishwashers, indoor plumbing, etc. etc. etc.....our luxuries are too plentiful to enumerate. We, as common people, live better than kings did a mere 100 years ago. -

No, they aren't. They're no worse than 20, 100, 500, 1,000 years ago. -
I really liked that. I did something I've never done here before. I listened to it twice in a row!

Now I've got a hankering for Fret Fries. That guitar is so wrong.

“I don’t have a love affair with a guitar,” Pete Townshend once said. “I don’t polish it after every performance. I play the *****ing thing.”

I wonder if Mattel would have made more money if they had given their Barbie doll away for free (following the give something away for free paradigm). Tripling or quadrupling their market share would have sold a hell of a lot more extra outfits and accessories. Wait...did I say Barbie? I meant GI Joe.

That's the problem, which do we choose...LibreOffice or OpenOffice? And how many versions of UNIX are there? If there was just one, it would probably dominate the market.

The problem with open source software is you get splinter groups and sects who want to do things their way, have control and make a total mess of the sector. I don't want to spend hours researching which version of CakeWalk I should get.

We need more music puns. I'll put my staff right on it.

Because it's lack of coffee that's dangerous and harmful. You don't want a bunch of sleepy, irritable people walking around waiting to explode in a fits of rage.

"All Gnus sound alike" and the wisdom of Tibet
RobertWS replied to Starship Krupa's topic in The Coffee House
I guess it's true. Incredibly brilliant, talented, creative, genius, great minds do think alike. -

Will higher specs/newer notebook produce better sound quality?
RobertWS replied to Lummy Keen's question in Q&A
A better notebook will do things faster. It won't make anything sound better. All else being equal.
