  1. It seems that melodyne can be used on all the clips in comped take lanes, vocals for example, to alter the clips as needed before picking which one of them you want to use...from the help - "you don’t want to be using Melodyne after you’ve finished comping but during the comping process, when it really counts." I haven't been able to figure out how to use it this way if I am understanding it right. Videos I have watched show it working, but not how to apply it to everything. I cant imagine you have to apply it individually to each clip in all the take lanes. Anybody know how to do this or get it to work? I'm using melodyne studio. Thanks, treesha
  2. I have used melodyne to lengthen the sustain length of a note. You have to make sure the clip it is in is long enough to lengthen the note as far as you want. Just drag the right end of the blob in melodyne. The results can be good or can be not so good depending on the sound of the note and how it reacts to being lengthened.
  3. No, there was no bounding box as shown in the transform tool help. It just made a line that stayed attached on the left side and could be angled across the whole of the songs velocity events and made a perfect line. Its not as easy to get a perfectly straight line with what tools I am familiar with now.
  4. I know exactly what you mean and I haven’t been able to find it or make something work similarly either. I miss it.
  5. Its faster to use region fx cause you dont have to play it, especially if a track-long clip is being melodyned. I usually duplicate it in case I dont like something later. Then, after I am done, I render it using the instructions on the link scook posted: To render a Region FX - You can commit the Region FX and render the results to a new audio clip. Do one of the following: In the Track view, click the Region FX menu and select [name of Region FX] > Render Region FX. Right-click a Region FX clip and choose Region FX > [name of Region FX] > Render Region FX from the Clips pane pop-up menu.
  6. I've too have had mixed results with creating vocal harmonies from the lead vocal part, sometimes it works well other times it adds strange resonances. I also use it to make electric guitar lead parts into some harmonies to go with the lead part, and have the same mixed results. Sometimes it makes nice tones, other times it adds strange resonances but the strange ones don't sound as bad as the vocal harmonies when they are off. I find flattening out the pitch center using the pitch modulation tool that flattens out the blob's pitch before I move it can help some.
  7. I've had the issue of copy then paste a clip, then if I want to move the clip I just pasted, I cant select it, and so cant move it a second time. I try all methods of selecting the clip to move it again but nothing works to select it. If I close the project and then reopen it everything is fine and acts as expected when I open it. Not sure what your problem is but I am having this one.
  8. The track sends can be either pre fader or post fader, choose which with the button on the send. Depending on how you set this up, the amount of data going to the reverb bus and the amount of reverb are adjusted using the track fader, the send volume, the bus gain input, the bus volume. If you want only a distant reverb sound, use the send pre, mute the track. If you want a mix use the send post and play around with all the above till you like the blend.
  9. Im not on the program now to be more specific, but i think you can get some vertical grid lines by going into view i think then vertical gridlines which can be in front of or behind clips. I dont remember if they are adjustable or not.
  10. I did have this happen before too but dont think i ever got it figured out. Its pretty weird to see the waveform contents go in the opposite direction
  11. You can route it out to new aux track and record it and see it there
  12. I dont have links but: joy division - a documentary about joy division and factory records. A dramatic movie called Control was made about them also bad brains-a band in dc both have very unique frontmen
  13. Would be slower than bouncing it but you could send the track with the adjusted clips to an aux track and hit record in the aux track and see what it looks like there
  14. Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense. I do a lot of splitting too and pitch adjustments so a 2 nd analysis of course would create different results.
  15. I have double melodyned with no artifacts. I have seen notes be slightly off when i apply melodyne a second time after i had corrected the pitches the first time.
  16. It would take time but till you get it figured out the track with the clips could be sent to an aux track and recorded at the length you want there
