Hi Eveybody, This is a track I just finished mixing today - it's another riff-rock song I wrote - it's off of the album I'm currently working on called "The Westerly Sessions Volume V". As always, any comments and critiques are welcome, and thanks for listening. I sang the lead vocal with a Studio Projects C1 through a Chameleon Labs 7603 mic preamp. The backing vocal was sung with an AT4040. The rhythm guitar is a Gibson Les Paul through TH-U, and the lead guitar parts are a Fender Strat through TH-U. The bass guitar is an Ibanez SR500 through TH-U. The drums are AD2. Here it is: https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14161787
  2. You know that sounded like a bunch of silly elves - maybe in the workshop building toys.
  3. I liked your vocal on this one - and I liked the lyrics. I liked the piano as well - that stood out with everything that's going on in the mix.

This definitely had a southern rock vibe - that 12-string really made the rhythm quite pleasant and full. Nice job on the vocal - the performance was right for the song. Lead guitar playing was pleasant as well.
  5. Nice one Gary - you did a good job on this. And wow, your vocal sounds fantastic - very full and warm.
  6. I liked the atmosphere of the mix - it had plenty of depth to it. I really liked the flute in this. Nice job on the lead vocal - I thought you sang it well.
  7. Thanks for taking the time to listen.
  8. Thanks for listening - I appreciate it.
  9. Thanks Starise - I'm glad you liked it. I did use the Waves Abbey Road Vinyl plug-in on the stereo master of this track - I think it adds a bit of vinyl warmth to the mix.
  10. Thanks for listening - I"ll give the drums another listen. I put a reverb on the master bus - perhaps it's a bit too much.
  11. That was cool Wookiee - very original and creative. I really liked the robotic-like voice - so to me this had a futuristic type of vibe. There were some interesting synth voice in there as well - nicely done.

  13. I really enjoyed this one Gary - and it did have a vintage sound to it. Just out of curiosity, what mic did you use for the vocal?
  14. Thanks Wookiee - I'll give the drums another listen. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
  15. Thanks for giving my song as listen - I like the vintage vibe you describe me as having.
  16. Hi David - I'm glad you liked the song and thanks for listening. Regarding Cakewalk stuff - I do buy third party software, but I haven't bought any synths since Dimension Pro works for me at times. I had forgotten about Rapture, so I was happy to use it on this song.
  17. Hi Tom - as always - I appreciate your ears. I'll give that cymbal another listen - I used AD2 - I can tweak if needed. Regarding the song, I felt like it needed something, and searching through the Cakewalk synths I saw Rapture - I had totally forgotten about it - and I found a preset that I thought really worked for the song. My brother said it reminded him a bit of the Cars😀 Happy Holidays.
  18. A harmonica - that's an interesting suggestion - I've never been a very good harmonica player😀 Thanks for listening and Happy Holidays.
  19. Thanks for giving my song a listen Freddy - Happy Holidays.
  20. Hey David - thanks for listening and I'm glad you liked it. No, I've never published any of my songs. By the way, Powell's Books was on the national news one night - looks like a cool place to browse.

  23. Man that was a wild ride - quite the listening experience. This made me think a bit of No. 9 on the White Album for some reason.
  24. Hi Bjorn - thanks for listening. Regarding TH-U, I think you're going to have a lot of fun with it - it has so many different tones, and I think it sounds great.
