I only have the "elements" pack from a few years ago, and some of those are a couple revs older (RX6, Ozone 8, etc). My "loyalty offer" is $199, so JRR looks good. How does this pack stand up to the usual stream of Izo-deals? It caught my eye because literally everything in it is either new to me or a newer version (plus being Standard over Elements).

I am a little "bumbled" over the Humble system. I did not buy this one, primarily because I fell for a dump-truck full of Producer Loops stuff over the holidays (that I will likely never use). Over the years I bought a lot of Humble Bundles, and I know you can go in and adjust the split between the charity and the devs/Humble, but I rarely messed with it. I always assumed that if you gave more than the minimum, most of the extra would go to the charity. Not so. For this one, the minimum for the largest pack was $25. With $1.25 to charity. Bumping up to $30 only gave another $0.25 ($1.50) to the charity. Lesson learned- if the charity is one that you want to support with extra $, be sure to adjust the split, or perhaps just spend the minimum and support the charity directly.

New Website Being Built: musicsoftwaredeals.com

Nope- But not a bot either. Check his profile pic. "Live long and prosper" -
I stopped following the Soundpaint news, but if I recall correctly, they notify eligible owners automatically. If you were missed, support will fix you up. I also heard that there was a short window on the upgrade eligibility. Hopefully they did away with that.

The best freebies that I continue to use are plugs that are normally sold, and were a limited time giveaway, like NI Rahm & Replika, or I<3NY compressor from Baby Audio. As far as samples, I collect them by the gigabyte, but I don't really know how many freebies I have used vs paid, since they are all in the same bucket. Probably my most used free app (besides the obvious Cakewalk BBL), is ADSR Sample Manager. I actually sprang for a subscription to LoopCloud when they offered me a deal a couple months ago, but I keep going back to ADSR. I agree that "cut down" free versions of sample based libs just are not worth the effort. They all end up getting deleted eventually. I HAVE gotten a lot of use out of the Sonokinetik "12 Days" freebies, however, but those too are in the "regularly sold" category.

The mastering track controls are great, but I have come to expect more of a "awesome!" new widget from a .5 update. Sorry to look the gift horse in the mouth!

I have not tried anything from Udemy yet, but I have read positive comments in addition to yours. I see they are running a sale for a couple more days. Is it typical for them to wildly inflate the "regular price" so you jump at 90% off, like so many VST vendors we all know and love? I am just curious if this type of sale is likely to return on MLK Day, Super-Bowl Sunday, Valentines Day, etc.

In case folks are interested in Ask.Audio content, that is included in this offer. It is not Mac/Apple specific by any means. I got (and took) an offer last month for Ask.Video for $72/year and it also includes everything that they offer under the umbrella "Nonlinear Educating" company. What I was most interested in is the Audio/DAW content, and it's all there. Note that they treat accounts at the different web sites as separate, even though all the content is the same. It threw me that my old Ask.Audio account could not be used with the coupon, and I had to create a new one with Ask.Video.

After reading all these official posts, I think "I've been officially TROLLED".

I decided against upgrading 13U to UCE. I already have BBCSO and HOOPUS, so only the Cremona "trio" (Strad Violin is in 13U) was of interest. Figure I will wait for 14U in... Summer of 23? Great deal for 13 Standard to 13U though. Here is the comparison page

I agree that PocketMags is not as good as Zinio, but I have been getting CM from PocketMags for the past couple years for $15.99 / yr auto renewal, which I think is a fair deal. I suppose they might raise the rates, but I recently got the notice for my renewal in January 2022 and it is still $15.99 The Android app is what I use, and it works well enough.

This is why I got the Analog Orchestra patches. I have over a terabyte of symphonic instrument sample libs, so I know nothing here is going to compare. What it does give me is a starting point- "I want a synth that sounds kind of like a ... " Load the patch in VA-3 and tweak from there.

^^^ YES ^^^ I am glad I went through all of the patches. To be honest I was dozing through percussion hits, given the gigs of samples I already have. Things got fun again in the last 20 or so patches. Worth exploration.

I have a few doubles too. Humble Bundle has had some very good bundles in the past that gave me the dupes. Maybe you got those?

Absconded with this as my Christmas Freebie! Very nice. I find the vibrato pretty heavy handed for my taste- I would not be too happy with this if I only had the free AAS Player. With full Ultra Analog 3 though, it is easy to tame the vibrato - so far the patches I have tried have it on the fist voice LFO, adjusting the VCA Gain, delay, and fade parameters.

I just got the SpectraLayers One that is bundled with Cubase 11. Alas it doesn't look to me like there is an upgrade path - just have to pay the new user cost (albeit 40% off for a few more days).
