  1. That's how it starts. Then they want a little more, then they start craving other things, available in other products. But you're right, horses for courses.
  2. Analogue-ish summing is cool, but can it really compete with other DAWs?
  3. I really wanted to buy this plugin. But when I tested it against similar plugins, I couldn't justify buying it. $5 price tag could've made me reconsider that decision, though.
  4. I'm inclined to acquiesce to this strategy. ?I still can't decide whether I want any of these and/or what do I need them for. Means, it's OK to postpone either purchase indefinitely.
  5. Nice release, but with workflow breaking bugs. S1 projects containing previous version of Amp Locker don't open. Existing snapshot player license and NAM player license attached to it are not activated within Amp Locker.
  6. Isn't it a spherical cow? Walls, floor and ceiling are taken out of the equation. To completely isolate oneself from outer noises, one would have to agree to abide in a water tight cage, made of this fabric. Since voltage must be applied to it as well, this Faraday cage can be extremely dangerous.
  7. I actually find this image disturbing. One dude is sleeping while another dude is rocking the room. Yet we are told that this silk curtain quiets the noise. Yeah, right. Like the walls, floor and ceiling don't convey vibrations. In the Emperor's new clothes, a child's voice was heard. Here, we see a baby helplessly crying in the bed, but no one can hear it. I guess, for the curtain to effectively veil the noise in the room, it must come with a loud drum kit and a furious, passionate drummer behind it. Or any other source of loud audible vibrations.
  8. I actually tried one. It's amazing how such horrendously awful tones make such a gorgeously sounding mix. You can learn a lot from these instruments.
  9. What happened? Larry was blocked because he could not prove he was not a robot?
  10. I don't mind installers, but... Why this? Why do I have to prove to a robot that I am not a robot? What if I am deaf? Or visually impaired? Or don't understand the difference between cars and trucks? Does any of this make me a robot? Stupidest thing I have ever seen on the Internet, and I've seen a lot.
  11. In this time and era of zero musical creativity but serious RnD in reconstructing legendary tones, these kits bring back the fun of (re-)creating good ol' songs.
  12. I believe most of us understand and respect that. It is your list, so whatever you put there reflects your perspective. I am totally fine with that and really appreciate the time and effort you put into it.
  13. Not your next RTL champion, then. OK.
  14. RTL numbers don't mean much unless they come with rock solid performance. E.g., on my laptop theoretically I can get 5.3ms of RTL, however, it's completely unusable. 9.8ms is where the usable range starts in my case. Still, it's not much, as it feels like being 9ft (3m) away from cabinet or monitors. 1ms would be much closer to using in-ear monitors than actual on-stage live band experience.
  15. Discontinued? No wonder, the link didn't surface at the top. Are you absolutely positive, that this site infringes intellectual property of third parties?
  16. https://www.presonus.com/en-US/quantum.html
  17. In that case, better safe than sorry. However, I would strongly advise to re-download the archive and check the file on VirusTotal. It is possible, that this threat comes from a trojan that is already present in your system. PS What I have found is nil, nada. YMMV.
  18. Out of curiosity, I decided to check the installer on VirusTotal. What was presented by Mr No Name as trojan virus (severe threat) is nothing but ML algorithm false alarm, which can be safely neglected. Don't take my word for it, just google "Trapmine Suspicious.low.ml.score". Or do what Mr No Name says - stay away from this plugin.
  19. You can demo it in free AmpLocker plugin. I was amazed that they actually nailed AC30TB EQ behavior. Most plugins that pretend to mimic AC30 fail in that department.
  20. Oh, Linux! Installed!
