OK, Barry, you're on to me I like to play with DNA sometimes, and crossing Joe, Steve, and Alvin seemed like a winner. Don't try this at home unless you have the proper equipment! I agree with you about "ghost" and "exposed", but it's probably more bloody than brilliant.

Wow, that's a terrific review! Much appreciated. The chipmunk part resulted from my attempt to mimic a trumpet. It comes from a plug-in called Soundshifter (Waves). I'm glad you like the song, which encourages me to move forward.

Reece, thank you for your kind words and ears! When I hear this, I feel like I'm headed in the right direction. Thank you Michael! It's gratifying to hear this from you, knowing that we've all made great strides over time merely by hanging out here. And, well done to SG for your prolific work! Gary, it's good to hear from you! Thank you for your time and effort; it's really appreciated. Stay safe!
  4. Forget what you think the peaks should be. You can pull all your tracks down by 20db and still have a ton of signal to noise ratio to make a good mix. This works! Even if you lower the volume of everything to get the vocals to sit right in your mix, you can raise the volume back up to commercial levels when mastering the mix. You have more headroom when lowering the volume than raising the volume even if you have an average converter.

Hey Paul, thanks for taking the time to listen and reply! That wah-wah is an auto-wah from TH-U. I was very impressed with it, so I used it. Glad you enjoyed it.

Tom, thank you so much for your kind words! I guess I was thinking unconventionally in these unconventional times~~~ Thanks, again. Kenny, hearing this from you is very gratifying! You and several others on this site have helped push me in the right direction for so long. Maybe it's starting to pay off.
  7. Very nice, Glenn. It sort of sums up my feelings, too. This is fun to listen to, and the mix is very good. Well done!

Jesse, thanks a million for your kind words. I appreciate the way you noticed the drums in this, as I wrote the song around the drums presets from the SD3 Fusion Pack. I believe in a solid foundation!
  9. I love the dynamics in this piece! In a short time, you've gone a long ways to making this sound complete. This is truly epic.
  10. Bjorn, you have really mastered the art of writing well crafted instrumentals that stay with you for a while. I'm inspired to try something like this, but I know it doesn't come easy. You have a deep well of creativity that never gets tiring. You give this Celtic tune a touch of the blues while keeping a traditional sound, thus, making it more interesting. Well done, my friend!
  11. I love doubleheaders! You hit the jackpot with these two songs. In the Santa song you deliver a great PSA while backing it up with your usual panache. I hope that people listen and heed your advice! The second song and video is a homerun all the way. It is swampy (in a good way), bluesy, and well played and well sung. Your rock-a-billy guitar has never sounded better. I always look forward to hearing new songs from you, and you never disappoint! Stay healthy, Freddy.

    ON MY WAY

What a pleasure to see you perform! This is a terrific song that features your smooth, melodic voice, combined with a bit of sadness, that is very convincing. And, that, to me, is the hallmark of your music; your conviction. You can't fake that. What a great start to my day!
  13. Well done, Lee! I share your hope and optimism. This is a really enjoyable song to listen to, and the mix is very nice. Your vocals, lyrics, and performance are top notch. Keep up the good work.

Hey Freddy! I'm glad to hear from you, amigo! What a year it's been, huh? I'm looking forward to a brighter future, which is what inspired this song. But, make no mistake, you've been the voice of reason around here this year. It's time for your encore.
  15. The vst3 GR6 is working just fine here in the latest version of CbB. I did have to download it from the Native Access portal, but OK after that.
  16. Yet, another terrific song from you guys! I love this style of music, so I'll be visiting your website to get better acquainted with it. Rock on!
  17. Yes! This is better. I still would like to hear a 16th note shuffle with the hi-hat to glue it all together, but this is an improvement. I appreciate you taking the time to try my suggestion!
  18. Very mesmerizing and appropriate for the times. It actually makes me feel nostalgic for some reason. Well done!
  19. I'm glad I finally got here! This takes me back to a time when music seemed fresh and adventurous. I would have bought this album in a heartbeat! Keep em coming!
  20. I like where this is going. There's great potential here, and I look forward to hearing this when you get it to the point where you think it's completed. Truly terrific tones and textures!
  21. Hey John, I'm just trying to keep up with you guys Stay safe!

Thanks a million, Ed. It means a lot! Thanks for your time and ears. I'm glad you liked the scatting! David, thanks for your time and kind words! I've heard of vocaloid, but haven't tried it. I've had a lot of fun with OVox (Waves), but I didn't use it in this song, just a transposer and flanger. Hi Tom, thanks for dropping in! That wah is an automatic wah in TH-U, which is convenient because I don't have a MIDI pedal. I'm not surprised by the JW reference, as I've listened to a lot of his work over the years. To all: stay healthy and productive!
  23. Wow, I love this tune and had to listen to it again to fully appreciate it! I love what you're doing with the strings and the cool lyrics. This deserves a wide hearing, and I hope you get it. A+
  24. Dark and moody, just the way I like em. The title is quite thought provoking and drew me in, like a moth to a flame. I like this very much and would write more, but I can't wait to dive back into this! Well done!!
