  1. Here are the instructions for changing project sample rate
  2. Just downloaded CCC from the Cakewalk website using Edge on Win10. Ran CCC, it connects and downloads OK. All the installers used by CCC should also be in your old Cakewalk account. To run manually downloaded CCC compatible installers, place them in the CCC download folder then use CCC to install.
  3. I do not own Kontakt but from the info above - playing the keyboard in a synth plug-in confirms an audio routing only. It does not provide any info about MIDI going into the plug-in and the MIDI data is not triggering sounds If I had to guess, this is MIDI note display issue. Make sure the notation displayed represents the MIDI note numbers required for the plug-in. The display relies on the Base Octave for Pitches setting. Alternately one can use a drum map or the MFX Transpose to map the data instead of changing the Base Octave for Pitches.
  4. Could also try different default algorithms for stretch methods but if everything sounds OK except the ends, I'd probably just slightly fade the ends.
  5. In SONAR, Edirol VSC was replaced by TTS-1. CbB includes TTS-1. Of the rest of the 32bit DX plug-ins mentioned above a few were ported to 64bit by Cakewalk but were dropped from their product lines before BandLab bought Cakewalk. It is extremely unlikely BandLab will go to the expense of releasing these plug-ins. Missing 32bit DX plug-ins is a common issue when transitioning to a 64bit DX host. Unlike VST, there is no 32-to-64bit bridge software for DX plug-ins. One way to ease this transition is install a 32bit DAW to load the project completely and swap out the 32bit plug-ins for plug-ins that have both 32 and 64bit versions. Once the plug-ins were swapped, the project should open completely in a 64bit DAW. The process is not going to get any easier as the move to 64bit DAWs started around 17 years ago and many manufacturers have stopped offering 32bit software entirely.
  6. The most common cause is the synth encountering unexpected data. This can happen with any of the Cakewalk sfz engine synths. To address the problem see
  7. Enabling Preferences > Customization > Display "Show All Times as SMPTE" makes it possible to move Now time using that format in the Go dialog (keyboard shortcut G).
  8. Musical time=Measures:Beats:Ticks. To convert to seconds requires knowing Tick Per Quarter Note which is available in CAL and Beats Per Minute which is not available in CAL.
  9. All time functions are in musical time. CAL has no access to tempo information.
  10. There is a time offset in the track inspector It is the bottom control pointed to by Q
  11. When it was released, it was free for MCabinet owners. My guess is that is still the case since it is not sold separately. My want to confirm with Melda.
  12. Review project meter changes in the Meter/Key view
  13. I had my collection of freeware years ago. Now it's mostly commercial software and I seriously doubt many of the 1500+ will be used more than a couple of times. That said, all the VST2's are in manufacturer folders under CbB default folder and all the VST3 are in the default VST3 folder, most in manufacturer folder even if I had to manually move them. Plug-ins themselves do not take up much space; samples do. Most sample-based plug-ins provide a way to relocate their libraries. For those without an easy way to move samples, it's directory junctions.
  14. It depends. This works for most plug-ins but if the plug-in has registry entries referencing files that are moved at the OS level, the plug-ins will not work properly without modifying the registry. Normally, I would recommend using directory junctions but if this is the case, it may be a little messy. In this case, if the plug-ins use an installer, the safest approach is uninstalling the plug-ins and installing them in the new location. Every commercial installer provides for changing the install path. Most freeware installers do to. Plug-ins that use a simple zip file instead of an installer may be moved using Windows Explorer.
  15. There is Channel Tools but this issue not what happens after recording. The issue is ease of creating the track in the first place. For this one could use clip groups but since the subject is one instrument with two microphones, a stereo track makes more sense to me. Once the performance is captured, the two channels can be split into separate tracks if desired.
  16. For years, authotkey has been able to accept MIDI data using midi4ahk Here is a pretty good write up about it. I have not played with it.
  17. Instead of BandLab Assistant use Cakewalk Web Installer
  18. Here is one way to remove all controller data Adding the MFX Event Filter setup like the image below to the MIDI FX rack of the track(s) Select the track(s) From the main menu select Process > Apply Effects > MIDI Effects...
  19. I have not used bundles much since per-project audio folders were introduced 17 years ago. Instead, I prefer to create a copy of a project using "Save Copy As" to a new folder with "Copy All Audio with Project" enabled then archive the new folder.
  20. Probably. I see no reference to an expiration date in either the Arturia Software Center or my account. I did not use a third party to get the plug-in.
  21. %appdata% expands to the entire tree shown in your second image. WRT the data in the %appdata%\Cakewalk folder, I backup %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library\library.db %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Aud.ini %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Cakewalk.ini %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Master.ins %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\TTSSEQ.ini %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Plug-in Menu Layouts Of these, library.db (the plug-in category database), Master.ins and the plug-in layouts are critical as they are time consuming to rebuild. I don't do much tweaking to the ini files and they are pretty easy to reconstruct. I have drum maps in a non-default folder so that I can control when that folder is updated. The custom drum maps folder is backed up. If you use Workspaces, they are in "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Lenses" by default. Other files in "%appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\" may need to be backed up depending on how one uses CbB.
