    Database error

Type %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library in Windows search Click on the folder to open it Then rename or delete Library.db in Windows Explorer.
  2. Grace may work too. If one wants to learn the sfz file layout sforzando is another option.
  3. Before answering questions on bundles, keep in mind, bundles are still a feature in Cakewalk for backward compatibility. They are suitable for sharing projects with other users but are not suitable for long term project storage or archiving. Definitely not suitable as the only copy of a project. For years there have not been many valid use cases for bundles. Before the DAW can use a bundle it must unpack it into a regular project and audio files. With the exception of audio snap data which cannot be stored, a bundle stores the project file just as it appears on disk. This includes all the plug-in references. The audio is stored in the bundle is as it exists in the original project. Bundling essentially creates a new file by writing out the project file (less audio snap data) and appends the the audio clips to it. No additional processing is done to the project or audio stored in the bundle.
  4. By setting your audio tracks to go through busses and the busses to a Master bus which is set to your audio interface's output, you would get all of your tracks to play through your headphones. All the project templates included with Cakewalk are setup to do this. Use one of them or get in the habit of creating a bus when starting a project and set it up as the "Default Bus" using the context menu in the bus header. When a default bus exists, all tracks and buses will automatically default their output to the bus. In the bundled project templates, the default bus is labelled Master.
  5. Chances are some of the MIDI tracks are set to omni input and the synths have "Enable MIDI Output" enabled in the the VST2/3 drop down. Open the synth UIs, click on the VST2/3 header above the UI and make sure "Enable MIDI Output" is off.
  6. This would be true if the signal leaving the DAW and the playback hardware are mono. However, mono tracks in the DAW usually resolve to a stereo master bus and out to stereo playback hardware.
  7. It may help to see images of the appropriate sections of the scan log or a link to the full scan log. What plug-in layout are you using?
  8. If it scans without error then it should be a plug-in list somewhere. Have you tried searching for it in the plug-in browser using one of the "Sort by" plug-in layouts? What is the path to the dll?
  9. The keyboard shortcut for bypassing effects was removed in 2020.04. The function "Bypass All Audio Effects" may be bound to any available shortcut in preferences. The old shortcut "E" is available ATM. While there is no way to move buttons from one module to another, "Bypass All Audio Effects" may be bound to a button in the custom module. Collapsing modules in the Control Bar is a way to preserve access to them while leaving maximum space for the other modules.
  10. One reset should be enough, if the plug-in is in the scan path Since the plug-in is not appearing in the plug-in list "Rescan Failed Plug-ins" is the option to choose assuming the plug-in shows up in the Excluded List in the plug-in manager. There is no need to enable Rescan options when running a Reset. The reset scans every dll and vst3 in the scan path except for the dlls in the dedicated vst3 paths. One thing not mentioned in the OP was if a scan log was created. Enabling "Generate Scan Log" when running a Reset or Rescan can be helpful.
  11. It depends on the plug-in developer. A few support VST3 migration. Some update their plug-ins such that even in same format appears to the DAW as a different product.
  12. The large export module shows the current selection length in hh:mm:ss:ff format
  13. Since you have a real ASIO driver, the generic one should be removed. The easiest way to remove it is by deleting its entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO If its registry entry is removed Cakewalk will not see it. If you prefer not to mess with the registry, rename or delete the dll.
  14. Fury 800 is made by Full Bucket Music I prefer to source plug-ins directly from the developer.
  15. For multi-out synths I usually click MIDI Source Synth Track Folder All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo from the Soft Synth Options Dialog
  16. Often when sharing an audio device between a DAW and other programs, if the other programs cannot play audio while the DAW is running it is because Windows is running at a different sample rate than the DAW.
  17. Is the track armed for recording before clicking record on the transport? There is a record button on each audio track and at least one track must have the record button enabled for the transport to start recording audio.
  18. To (de)select an arbitrary collection of notes in the PRV using the smart tool in the PRV - hold down the CTRL key and Right-Click the notes in hotspot "C" see figure 207 and table 17 below it in http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Tools.04.html Holding down the CTRL key and Right-Click drag toggles the select state of the lassoed notes. In this video, I select 5 notes by holding down the CTRL key and Right-Clicking the notes, then I invert then revert the selection by holding down the CTRL key and lassoing the notes.

    piano roll velocity

Often old urls such as the one linked above https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR X3&language=3&help=EditingMIDI.15.html can be modified to show the current documentation by modifying the product. In this case changing "SONAR X3" to Cakewalk like this https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=EditingMIDI.15.html The Event Inspector is another way to modify MIDI data including velocity. Another way uses the velocity bars in the controller pane. Enable the controller pane by selecting "Show/Hide Controller Pane" in the PRV View menu. There is an option in the PRV Note menu to "Show Velocity on Selected Note Only". This option makes manipulating selected velocities a little easier. Select the notes and click-drag the velocity bars.
  20. Create a copy of the project, select and delete all the tracks (one could work with the original file but a safety copy is a good idea) Save the project as a MIDI file At the command line type: MIDIcsv.exe MIDIFilename > csvFilename Then open the csv file in a text editor or spreadsheet, clean up and format as needed The link has quite a bit of information about the tools and how to use them.
  21. The track control drop down above the track headers in the track view contains track control presets and the track control manager used to maintain the presets. This is used for the controls displayed in the track headers. Workspaces affect much more than the track header controls in the track view.
  22. Here is the documentation on the instruments bundled with CbB. TTS-1 is part of the core install The Studio Instrument Suite has a separate installer available from the "Install Add-ons..." menu option
