Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic

MIDI has nothing to do with audio. What audio interface do you have and what driver mode are you using? Also, you don't give any info about your computer.

A proper audio interface with proper ASIO drivers will instantly solve 90% of audio issues. Proper setup of the computer itself will solve another 9.9%
