BLASPHEMER!

Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic.

Cakewalk not finding an amp plugin
Byron Dickens replied to tfontenot's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Probably not the problem, but there is no need to add any of the subfolders to your scan paths. I couldn't even find a link for that VST. -
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is a law firm. Gibson Brands, Inc manufactures and markets musical instruments and related stuff. The word "Gibson" is the only thing they have in common.
-
Um, what makes you think that Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP has anything to do with Gibson Brands, Inc?

And you said you didn't believe in God....?

Beat me to it!

Cakewalk is not really intended as a live performance tool. You would be better off using a VST host that is designed for the purpose. I think you can probably set up your keyboard controller to do what you want

No audio from line in with Sonar Platinum

Point taken. If weak, anemic and noisy is your aesthetic, go for it. And had line level outs, no doubt. -
VST Scan Extremely Slow On 2 Computers - SOLVED
Byron Dickens replied to Lee Jackson's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Which brings me back to my first question: why are you scanning your vsts over and over? Once they've been scanned, there's no need to do it again. If this is a Cakewalk issue, then how come you're the only one reporting it?- 17 replies

No audio from line in with Sonar Platinum

Not to mention you WILL NOT get a decent sound plugging a bass or guitar into that 1/8" input. -

1: Its well past time to update to CbB 2:Its well past time to get a proper audio interface with proper ASIO drivers. 3: Only disagreement I have is that if you don't have an audio interface that supports ASIO, you need to get one. Stay away from ASIO4ALL. It tends to be problematic -
I got plenty enough messy already between arthritis and mangling several instruments...?

That's fine.

I hear ya. A bass does things no keyboard can. At least you could get by while you look for someone. "...piano/string/organ/synth parts - which often require two hands by themselves...." That sounds like some damn finel arranging skill. I have yet to figure out how to cram two-handed keyboard parts into two guitars, bass, drums and vocals without simply doubling the bass or it turning into a mess.
-
It looks like both of your MIDI inputs are the same device. That might not be the problem, but I'm pretty sure that's not right The multiple outputs shown for the Realtek are puzzling. I only know enough German to get myself into trouble and not enough to get myself out, but it looks like you have "show mono outputs" selected. I'm guessing this is showing what amounts to two stereo pairs; Cakewalk shows no change to My Focusrite when I select different options. Perhaps that you have all the outputs selected is the issue. Try selecting only one pair.

Got one more pick to make. @InstrEdReally enjoying my new keyboard! Its a Korg Minilogue. Gotcha!

You're a keyboard player, right? A real keyboard player? Put that left hand to use! ?

VST Scan Extremely Slow On 2 Computers - SOLVED
Byron Dickens replied to Lee Jackson's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Did you select "Manual Scan" in the drop-down box? And what are your scan paths? You're not scanning your entire computer are you?- 17 replies

I get in trouble when I tell people that ASIO4ALL is garbage, so I won't tell you that ASIO4ALL is garbage. With the onboard sound, you should be using the WASAPI driver. You sure aren't going to get a decent interface for 13 Euros. You're probably better off sticking with the Realtek chip.
-
That's wrong. Your interface is where sound goes into and comes out of the computer. Your headphones and/ or speakers need to be plugged in to the interface, not the laptop. I guarantee that Tascam tells you that if you had bothered to look at the documentation.
