  1. Being a big Iron Maiden fan, I actually want that clackety noise. Steve Harris gets that with flatwounds and fingers. I'm not him; roundwounds and a pick is the best I can do.
  2. First thing I do when things go weird is close CbB and then turn my interface off and back on. In the rare instance things are still weird I reboot.
  3. Nope. You have to have the MIDI track pointed to a VSTi and the output of the VSTi pointed to an audio track. Sounds complicated but the way RBH described it this is quite transparent to the user. "Input echo" is so you can monitor your playing in real time.
  4. Sheesh! Spitfire's Originals are so good they'd be a bargain at twice the price.
  5. I can't imagine going back and revising long finished songs. I try not to be like Wordsworth who couldn't stop messing with the Prelude or Whitman and his perpetual revisions of Leaves of Grass.
  6. You're really overthinking it. I can't tell you how many guitarists have a delay pedal in front of a distorted amp.
  7. What's to elaborate? You created a song, mixed it & got it sounding how you want. You exported it as a WAV file and it plays back in mono in various media players. You brought your exported WAV back into CW and it sounds identical to the original project. Think about it for a minute; its kinda obvious.
  8. Use it for the old bathroom reverb chamber trick. Then it will be music related.
  9. What on Earth are you talking about? A pentagram is a five pointed star polygon like this:
  10. Snowflake. Maybe I realized you did offer a suggestion. My mistake. But you do seem to follow me around taking a an awful lot of offense to comments I make to other people.
  11. Which I did. Fighting with 32bit abandonware just isn't something I consider productive. But then, I'm more interested in making music than conquering IT challenges. Thus my solution is to ditch it and move on. I am woefully not well informed regarding chiptune music and the subtleties and intricate nuances of the genre so am unable to discern what might be considered authentic or not. Therefore I shall refrain from making any specific recommendation other than "Don't waste time with 32bit abandonware," which is something I can do with confidence.
  12. I'm going on the assumption that the OP has internet access and knows how to use a browser. Should I go over to his house and install it for him too? Good God! My advice is to not waste time fighting with 32bit abandonware. Maybe you need to be less sensitive on others' behalf. He's a big boy. I'm sure he can find something suitable.
  13. I seriously doubt the Bakers are going to waste any effort into getting 32bit abandonware working. If you just can't live without crappy 80's video game sounds there must be some 64 bit VSTs out there that do work.
  14. It is not a bug. That plugin is 32bit abandonware last updated in 2007. Ditch it and move on. Not worth the trouble.
  15. Engineers who use a bottom mike on the snare spend a lot of time and effort to get the positioning correct. I have gotten good results from using a modified version of the Recorderman technique. https://www.wikiaudio.org/recorderman-technique/ I moved the OH mikes farther away b/c I'm afraid of whacking one of my AKG 170s. I think that also makes the cymbals less drastic if I get too excited.
  16. I had no idea. I've been using my Focusrite 18i20 for years. Parts of these discussions should be collated and made a sticky.
