  1. I use Sound on Sound but find it awkward when slip-cropping a take, as it always slip-crops the rest of the takes. To affect only the selected take you hold shift while cropping. The technique should be reversed to use Shift when you want all clips cropped. Makes sense as Shift is used to make multiple selections in most other situations.

    "Main outs?"

So no one finds the default bus arrangement odd or confusing? Most hardware mixers have the Master Bus and/or Main Faders to the far right. Sonar/CbB puts the Main Outs to the far right but the Master Bus to the far left of the bus array. This never made sense to me and seems confusing when trying to visualize the signal path.

    Drum Map &PRV

In Track View is the MIDI track above or below the Synth track? I've read and confirmed that it needs to be below the Synth track for PRV to open the map full view.
  4. Only way I see to add an AUX track is thru an existing audio/instrument track dropdown button. Seems obscure and hindersome as I had to search documentation to learn this. Should be more obvious like in the Insert Menu or "+" Add Track button flyout.

    "Main outs?"

This is because you can route tracks to a master bus or directly to hardware outputs. Busses aren't required or even needed in a project. My interface has 2 stereo outputs as represented by 2 stereo master channels in CV. IF you are routing all your tracks and busses to a Master bus, it's output level (dB's) should be the same as the hardware output level when set to "0". Hardware output is basically an input gain knob for the interface, in my case, a mixer with it's own gain knob and fader which have no affect on the signal leaving CbB. The hardware channel "MASTER" label was probably removed to alleviate confusion when using a "Master" bus.

    "Main outs?"

To be precise, CbB's "Main Outs" control the output level from CbB going to your sound source but not the sound source itself, which usually has it's own controls. In olden days, the Console View Main Outputs were actually labeled "H/W OUTS" or "MASTER". Remnants of this can be found in the Theme Editor Console View > Modules > MSR of all places. Spoiler alert: Editing these graphics will do you no good.

    "Main outs?"

??? If not obvious, process of elimination. What are you're options?
  8. I use Alienware. Anyone use PCAudioLabs Rok Box? Out of OP's price range tho.
  9. Any pros or cons to these laptops? Like noise level? Except on occasion, my Alienware is near dead quiet. https://pcaudiolabs.com/rok-box-mobile-series/
  10. Guess I'm confused as I thought that was the OP's question & your initial reply. True for the Browser but the FX Bin right-click flyout ("insert menu") is fixed TMK.
  11. Thanks guys, but I'm confused about the link then. I see nothing there to determine bitness. VSTs are color coded in the Insert menu (32=green, 64=yellow) but DXs are always gray. The link did explain why some Sonitus plugs cause audio drops, tho.
  12. Do 64 bit Sonitus install with Cakewalk Core installer? ALL my Sonitus plugins are 32 bit even after running the Platinum installer for 64 bit. My Plugin Manager lists 2 sets of Sonitus: DX > Sonitus xxx C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins\SonitusFXxxx.dll Loads in CbB with 2 single dots (32 bit stereo). VST > Sonitus:fx xxx c:\program files\cakewalk\32 bit plugins\dxshell.dll (path does not exist) Loads in CbB (dead) with 2 single dots (32 bit stereo).
  13. When a clip has AudioSnap ON with Clip Follows Project selected, it disables the ability to Slip Stretch that clip in Track View. Is this normal behavior?
  14. Is it weird that DXs are 64 bit and VSTs are 32? Plus, the VSTs won't load in CbB while I'm getting a lot of crackles and total audio engine silence (not dropouts) when using the DX version in a bus.
  15. As I thought. That illustration is mis-nomenclatured. They entered "E" twice and missed "I" altogether. What you're calling "Track Pane" (their error) is actually the "Edit Filter", thus my confusion. The "Track Pane" is "H" where the tracks reside. The legend should have read: A. Menu B. Drum Grid pane C. Notes pane D. Controller pane E. Note draw duration F. Key/Pitch pane G. Edit Filter H. Track pane I. Selected track Although Pitch Bend is technically NOT a "continuous" controller, it is a controller in it's own right and accessed in the same window.
  16. ConfusedOne say "Why?" Isn't Pitch Bend, pitch bend no mater what synth you're using? (You did say "Controllers") Or did you mean "Track Name" - double-click to change name of track, like in Track View? <- THAT! would be something.

    Where is "Wipe"?

http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Arranging.17.html To wipe tracks 1. Select the tracks you want to wipe. 2. Click the Track view Tracks menu and choose Wipe Track(s). Cakewalk deletes all clips and events from the selected tracks, but leaves the track properties intact. I simply select the clip and hit Delete!
  18. Don't think it's any different than other methods. Load soundfount into softynth that reads sf2 and assign it to a MIDI track. Simple as that.
  19. Sad, really. I think Emu is selling insurance these days with some weirdo named Doug.
  20. Not sure about the focus as it only happens while working in the Melodyne Multidock window. Will check on the bindings, tho.
  21. Yes. Divide & Conquer! Values are linear AFAIK.
