  1. What I've never liked is the Console View Gain and Pan knobs (X1 thru CbB) can only be adjusted by moving the knob. There is no double-click direct entry method for either one - tho the F2 method does work. Edited for clarity
  2. I occasionally use split windows to drag stuff between projects - and seems older SONAR versions open some projects in child windows - so I've noticed it for ever, but it doesn't bother me as much as the artistic diversity of scroll bars.
  3. For SPlat but nothing else. Not sure how to make it work for X1 thru X3.
  4. Sounds like the opposite of how Cakewalk (Sonitus?) plugins work. Preset stays intact while the name reverts to nothing or default name. Frustrating when I don't remember the exact preset.
  5. The legacy home page posts this disclaimer: You are visiting the legacy Cakewalk website This website contains references to discontinued and unsupported products. If you are a customer of legacy Cakewalk products, you can still access your account here. For the latest product information, please visit us at www.cakewalk.com. So why would I be confused when, for whatever reason , they post "current" Sonar info on the "legacy" site?! The linked page is for build 31.02.0 from 2024. What's the current Sonar build? 31.0.9.
  6. Sorry, but no one here was hijacking anything... at least AFAICT.
  7. I've owned 3 different MOTU 1/2 rack interfaces and they've all had issues of one sort or another. The mk3 has worked fine until a couple of Windows updates. Now I get this issue after it's been on for several hours. So maybe I need to reboot the system every 2 hours to avoid it? Silliness. Their newer stuff isn't half-rackable with older stuff, if at all. More silliness. Small town local markets for almost anything seems to have dried up recently and online sales is tough due to shipping hikes. Sold a $600 mixer in original box for $300, a 1/4 of which was shipping. Common items either go to a transfer site or recycle center after 2 years with no bites on craigslist.
  8. As mentioned, Windows power plan is set to never sleep as is all entries in Device Manager. OTOH, I can't see Sleep affecting a device or driver that's currently in use. BIOS doesn't seem to have that option on this unit. Of note is the fact that MOTU is the only device affected by this scenario, so I'm starting to suspect MOTU drivers, which haven't been updated in years, or for Windows 10 or 11. Seems a device that's still being produced and sold as new would have updated drivers.
  9. The OP made that clear. I was referring to scroll bars. 3 differing styles in CbB Track View: Even with Theme Editor they can't be made to look the same.
  10. Standardizing scroll bars might be more aesthetically important. Nothing more distracting than seeing a variety of scroll bar styles and colors in the same view. But maybe the latest Sonar addressed this already?!
  11. Today SONAR X3 threw this warning including a single Asian style character instead of "MOTU". Not sure what to make of that. In spite the warning, audio played on uninterrupted. The warning in the OP was thrown by Windows. Sometimes I get one or the other or both.
  12. To me that should have been there from the start. But most users don't even seem to know what screensets are. They're too busy being distracted/confused by Workspaces. Tho that may change if the Free tier stays around.
  13. Yeah, I've gone thru all that in another thread. Was just exploring if compatibility mode was an option. Doesn't seem like it is in this case.
  14. Found this post from 2009: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Aaron39s-Sonar-Mp3-Encoder-Patch-v2-m1839895.aspx
  15. Wondering if there's a way to do that, or do they have to be made for the particular OS? My MOTU UltraLite mk3 keeps disconnecting after a recent Windows update. The latest drivers are for Windows 8.
  16. But that would effectively undo any edits V-Vocal did to those clips. Then you're looking at redoing them when you open the bun. If exporting to audio is the goal, it's good practice to bounce before and after each Region FX edit so there's no issues. I normally do this as part of the process.
  17. I think USB is the worst venue for audio production but it's the one-size-fits-all for everything PC. A dedicated audio port system would be the best but not likely to ever be a thing in this world, let alone affordable.
  18. Cronus is V-Vocal. As with any Region FX, V-Vocal clips should be bounced or rendered before exporting audio. That way SONAR is free of it's influence. After bouncing them, check if there's any hidden clips behind them and remove them. Not that they would throw an error but it's a good thing to do IMO.
  19. Try C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar\Metronome. For some reason, the Metronome is another one that seems to have redundant folders all over the place - as many as 3 different locations for each Cakewalk version. I would consolidate them if there was a way to reset the folder in Preferences.
  20. Fixed. Found an X2 BREVERB install file and all's good now.
  21. Set to Triangular, but would that affect this?
  22. Not sure... but I found an X2 BREVERB install file and it's all up and working now. So, I have at least 4 versions of BREVERB: 0.0.8.0, 1.0.1.0, 2.1.1.2, and 2.1.1.3 and they're all in different locations. The one seemingly affecting ProChannel was 2.1.1.2 in Cakewalk\VSTPlugins\BREVERB. But I thought it would have been 1.0.1.0 in Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal, where the main PC modules hide. Maybe the two are part of the same install. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
