(not a deal) New IK Product Manager now available
Vernon Barnes replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
I am seeing the installation issue, both Amplitube 4 and Sample Tank 4 have updates available. The updates download and apparently install, Product Manager delivers a notification to say the install was successful but still shows the the old version as current and the new as available. Opening the applications shows they are still on the original version. I have created a support ticket with a few more details. #1001380. The product manager looks an major improvement so I hope (whats probably a system specific) issue is resolved soo. -
I have the bottom layer subscription to Roland Cloud. Today I opened the Cloud Manager today for the first time in a couple of weeks and there were several new soundsets . I have not auditioned them all yet but the New Romantic one sounds pretty good, Its turning into a nice collection of useable sounds for $3 a month.

I was not sure so I made the folder in the same common files folder as the VST3 plugins folder. It seems to work. It will remain to be seen if issues arise.
-
I just gave this a listen, very nice folky prog, shades of the Strawbs in places and not a million miles removed some some of the modern prog bands I listen to.
-
I had a further reply clarifying. The issue is with the VST3 version of B-3 V2 only. It was suggested turning off Studio One VST3 support to force S1 to load VST2 plugs which I was reluctant to do. What I have done is move the VST3 DLL to new folder not in the S1 scan path. The VST2 version now loads and MIDI channels are selectable. As I have projects in Cakewalk that use the VST3 version, I added the new folder to the Cakewalk scan path. All seems well. I will have to remember to move things around after the next Arturia upgrade. (hopefully that upgrade will address the issue.) Its a bit of a lark for what is an occasionally used instrument, VB3 being my default Hammond, but one that has some nice extra features I like to use occasionally. I wanted to understand what was happening and if I was miss-using S1 somehow otherwise I may not have been quite so dogged in finding a solution.

My bass sale "error" was selling a Roland TR 303 bassline for next to nothing which was the going rate. Within a year someone had invented a new genre of dance music and the prices went into the stratosphere.

I did get a prompt reply to my post which (umpteen catchpas later) simply verified the issue and suggested it was a VST3 problem (several other VST3 pluging do not have the issue.) Anyway I have a workaround. If I load B-3 V2 in Komplete Kontrol I can create three tracks for Komplete Kontrol with the appropriate MIDI channels and it all works. This is the second time Komplet Kontrol has come to the rescue. I have problems syncing the strumming patterns on Orange Tree guitars in Kontakt, Greg at OTS is looking into it. I can only get it to work via Komplete Kontrol. My other big Studio One MIDI frustration was not being able to drag MIDI into EZBass or EZKeys. A visit to the Toontrack forum confirmed this cannot be done and suggested workarounds. I think my workaround will be to use Cakewalk.

Nothing out of the ordinary with my browser and the "catchpas" all worked and were presented straight away. First there was a field that must be blank, then a usual type these letters, then a 1+2 thing, the type on a missing word from attack decay ******* release. On the B3, its ideal to have 3 channels for the upper lower and pedals, each of which has a different tone. It can be set to use keyboard splits on a single channel but that is more limiting. If one used separate instances the Leslie would not be in sync and the amp would not overdrive in the same way as it would not be receiving the sum of the three parts.

Wasn't last year effects? They have a lot more effects than instruments. Mind you if you include the Syntronic and Sampletank instruments it pushes the numbers up a bit.
-
This is ridiculous, Signing up required four different "I am not a robot" tests. Once signed up there are three tests to make a post. I have been trying to setup B-3 V2 in Studio One so I have a MIDI track for each manual and the pedals on channels 1,2 & 3, something that is easy in Cakewalk. As other VSTis with multi channel inputs like Kontakt, Sample Tank, GSI VB3, Play etc. have a channel selector in the track header in Studio One and B-3 does not I think this is an Arturia issue. Looking at the general level of activity on the forum I am not holding my breath for an answer, the catchpas probably put everyone off.

A little heavy on CPU but totally worth it.
-
Will this do odd time signatures? Any 5/4 patterns for example.
-
A suggestion. Some of the Sonic Reality drum kits have been ported to Sample Tank 4. I have most of them for BFD. I love the Hugh Padgham kit in particular. If you don't have BFD this could be way to get these kits.

The Hammond is the only big one that really intrests me. It is probably the best emulation out there, but I don't see it as €199 better than my current options. Plus I can also route those through the T-Racks Leslie to close the gap further. I am still minded to just go for some Syntronic instruments if I do decide to jump in.
-
A very good deal, pity it wont add a month to my annual all access pass. I have been getting a lot out of Groove 3 recently, their videos are generally very good.
-
I don't think I paid that much for Nectar 3.
-
Mmmm, I am not up for one of the big ones but 5 Syntronic expansions might tempt me. Can we use jam points?

I just got an email $99 buying direct from Slate. $49 for trigger. https://stevenslatedrums.com/ssd5/?utm_campaign=End of Summer Drum Sale 2020 &utm_medium=email&_hsmi=92629653&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-91I5L0BXIYDlubejAsBajBVumf6VjVE1Vs3QIj0uwBP7G1UU_jXmeWPl5wDdOxvlY_FD3CcJ8Svxm7KuG3ZSMfWzWN4Q&utm_content=92629653&utm_source=hs_email

You get a lot more for your money to be sure. Drumlab is a bit of a specialty really if you want to create hybrid sounds so i would not say Slate compared in concept. The Abbey Road drums are probably on a par sound wise.
-
The sounds are great but for me the player has been the issue, I think I even preferred it when it was a Kontakt instrument. If fact I was considering reinstalling the Kontakt version now I have some free disc space, if I can find my backup discs. I had hoped version 5 would address some of my dislike of version 4 but the free version has not convinced me. That said this is a very good price for some excellent sounding drums.

iZotope Summer Sale at Plugin Boutique!! 11 items and bundles!!
Vernon Barnes replied to Hillmy's topic in Deals
Well I went and got the Tonal Balance bundle cross-grade from Plugin Boutique. There may have been possible savings elsewhere by dodging the VAT and looking at currency rates but the tokens and virtual cash means a few quid of my next order so there is probably not a lot in it. I did not have Neutron at all previously, but I did have Nectar 3. All in all I am happy to get Neutron Advanced, upgrade my Ozone 8 standard to 9 Advanced and get RX elements 7 (I previously had 6) for £128. -
OK, thanks. I must admit I did not read a lot of that correspondence in that thread but I did see there was some confusion. I just ran Software Centre after seeing his post and it updated almost everything, so i must have the one you are referring to.

I don't see anything in my Software Center. Is this a further update to 7.2 (posted by cclarry last week) ?
