  1. I assumed it would open and play in a media player. Apparently not; all I can do is download it and play it. Sorry.
  2. Listen to this: zztest.mp3 The first part is from a current drug commercial featuring that girl who just wants to have fun. The second part is from a song I recorded and released ~10 years ago. It's nice to know someone is listening! ?
  3. Cool!
  4. Say, OP, could you post a pronunciation of your name so I (we?) know how to say it?
  5. I don't know why this is happening on stereo but not mono tracks, but you could try splitting the stereo tracks into 2 mono tracks and do the pitch correction on them as a workaround. You could then bounce the 2 corrected tracks back together if you want.
  6. I thought it meant a week out of school. ?
  7. I think that lieutenant was in my shop, too. Did he have the nickname 'The Rock'? As in 'dumber than'.
  8. Does it make the noise if you use Ctrl>S instead?
  9. Just imagine what you'll save on combs!
  10. Like chicken. Everything tastes like chicken.
  11. From the movie 'The Nice Guys': "Marriage is giving a house to someone you hate".
  12. Obviously an engineer.
  13. I know a lot of folks like Take Lanes, but I have also seen many threads here asking how to use and manipulate them. I prefer the old way, record takes on different tracks, then each take is ready to be routed to whatever bus you want, add different effects if desired, and you can still cut the track into pieces and drag the clips you want into a single coherent track. I think the reason behind Take Lanes is to reduce the amount of real estate used by multiple tracks.
  14. Just for giggles, what happens if you bounce or freeze the affected track? Does the sustain play correctly in the bounced/frozen track?
  15. Anyone mention the Rockford Files yet?
  16. Does the song start at measure 1? It looks like it does, but hard to see. In the old days, especially when using soft synths, it was a good idea to start the recording at a later measure, like 2 or 4. That theoretically gave the synth a chance to 'warm up' before having to play rather than having to jump right in before it was ready. If you want to try that, place the Now time at measure 1 and go to Insert>Time>Measures and add a few measures. That should move everything in the project over the specified amount. Just Undo if it doesn't work.
  17. I can't see the point of this fred.
  18. Beagle is now a biker! Yep, got a Can Am and is riding it all over Texas, according to his posts on FB.
  19. They put me to sleep.
  20. Going for the radio-friendly short song? ?
  21. I have always used lightweight off-the-shelf computers. I wouldn't know what to do with more than 4 GB of RAM. So I use no soft synths or VST effects while recording, just the MIDI from my keyboard and audio from the interface. I add the VSTs later, but sparingly, because I don't know what I'm doing. ? I monitor from a mixer, which has effects so I can add a little reverb if I want. That way, I can hear everything in synchrony without latency. Here is a simple diagram of my routing: All audio sources I want to record are plugged into the interface, guitar, mic, cassette deck, etc. Yes I still have a cassette deck. And a VCR. Phonograph, too.
  22. Grabbed this from our ol' pal gamblerschoice on FB.
