If this was 10 years ago, I would change the driver mode to anything other than ASIO and run the Wave Profiler. Once that was done and the interface recognized, I would change it back to ASIO. Alas, we live in the future now and things have been 'fixed' to make our lives easier. ??

I believe you can open any MIDI track in Cakewalk, have it appear in the Staff, Piano Roll and other views, record what you're playing and also display it in your view of choice. But, as fast as electricity is, it won't be instantaneous. And the CW staff view is linear, not formatted like standard notation. To get something close to sheet music, I think you can open the Print Preview and as you record, it will display what you record. I have done that in the past, but not with Cakewalk By Bandlab.

If the recorded track is MIDI, you just change the MIDI track's output to the synth, i.e. if the MIDI track output is set to the Juno, just change it to Kontakt. Disclaimer: I don't have Kontakt and don't know if it operates the same as the synths I do have.

I would set all my audio inputs to None, save it and then you'll never have this problem when opening a project. My default template is set that way.

Oh, Avid. Is that compatible with Pro tools only? I see they have an updated driver for the 3rd generation of the M-Box, for Pro Tools.

I feel for you, Notes. I have a friend who is/was a waitress. She's been covided for about 2 months and only recently began receiving unemployment. Her former (and future, hopefully) employer owns several restaurants here in Raleigh which are now take-out only, He has been providing 1 free meal a day to all of his furloughed workers and Anna has found a charity that provides free produce to any unemployed person, The Produce Project. She also gets some money from one of the many charities that arose during this crisis, I forgot which, CARES maybe? She's doing okay. I wish you the best and hope you don't burn through your savings before it's over.

I've found that duplicated notes are easier to see in the Staff view.

If I ever have to move a track(s) I use the Insert>Time>Measures command. Just place the cursor where you want the move to occur, set 1 (or more) measure and it will move everything the specified amount. Measures are easy.

In the old days, as you probably remember, the old Cakewalk had a range of programs, from Music Creator (which I started with) to SONAR. Each one more refined and including more stuff.
