  1. A quick look found that Vistaprint will make them for ~$1.80 each if you buy 50. Trademark may be a problem.
  2. By the way, our friend Bayoubill here was a career Air Force Band guitar player.
  3. You will want one with MIDI ports, if the piano has them. I think that's easier than trying to set up a USB keyboard, especially with all the strangeness I see going on with USB keyboards in the General forum here. Most audio interfaces these days are USB and have good drivers. Some are cheap in one way or the other. I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 recently. It was $230. There are less expensive ones, especially on the used market. Just make sure they are still supported by their manufactures, i.e. have drivers for the current version of Windows. Go to guitarcenter.com or musiciansfriend.com and check out what they have. For getting started, you can use the internal if you want, but for better recordings and ability to overdub audio in real time without Latency, you will eventually want an interface. They're just some much better. Where do you live? I'm in N.C.
  4. There doesn't seem to be any USB driver for this keyboard. Their support page reads, "The USB ports on all Casio keyboards are class-compliant." I have no experience using those stock USB drivers, but reading these forums for a few years, I get the impression that they aren't good. Well-written drivers are pretty important for computer-based music production. If the piano has MIDI ports as well as the USB port, I would consider getting an audio interface that also has MIDI port, that way you won't need well-written Privia drivers, which don't exist, just the drivers for the AI.
  5. Welcome, Willie. Cakewalk is a complicated program and has a lot of 'stuff' in it that many folks will never use. Like me. I just record, mostly. Have you downloaded the PDF help files? In that forum, you may get answers to specific questions, but probably not a dedicated tutor. What equipment do you have? Do you have an Audio Interface? Are you wanting to record audio, MIDI or a combination? Start with the Getting Started section of the Help file, which should help you set up Cakewalk for your computer and show you the basics of how to record audio and MIDI. I don't think you need to know how to set up a side-chain EQ or edit the velocities of a MIDI track just yet. My brother wanted to be a Navy Band guitar player, but he lacked the patience to stay in and keep trying. Instead, he became a ditty-bopper. Good luck!
  6. It appears that the Roland is also an audio interface. Are you using the USB cord instead of audio outs to the M-Audio? If so, the Roland probably has some software setting or switch to select what audio is sent to the recording program, sort of like the old Stereo Mix or What You Hear setting in older sound cards and interfaces. That would send everything you hear to the recorder instead of just the vocal take.
  7. No takers? I'm giving odds.
  8. My SIL has taken up printing T-shirts and coffee mugs since she retired. She made one for my brother Steve that reads "I may look like I'm listening, but I'm really thinking about playing guitar or buying a new one". Darn T and Y too close together.
  9. First, I need to know what that is. ?
  10. Have you tried entering notes on the fretboard of the staff view? When writing for guitar, this is fastest for me.
  11. Thanks, Tim. Since W10 wouldn't load the Samsung program, I just copied the files to the hard drive. They play, but I didn't work the 'Video Editor' correctly the first time I used it. I figured out what I did wrong and now have a viewable movie. It's pretty basic, but I'm not looking for an Oscar. Thanks everyone who contributed.
  12. Right. It is an actual HD video camera I bought about 6 years ago.
  13. Never mind. User error. But thanks for the suggestions!
  14. DaVinci's website looks impressive, alas it won't run on this computer. I lack OpenCL capable GPU, whatever that is.
  15. NCAA Division 1 football championship is next Monday. I have $1000 down on the Tigers. Any takers? Oh; they play music at halftime.
  16. The extension is .MP4. It plays fine on the W10 computer in the 'Movies and TV' app, but I can't do any editing there. The MP4s can't be played on my XP box. Thanks JM, MP and JB.
  17. I feel honored; I've had a fred spoofed. ?
  18. Yeah, I know it's been discussed ad infinitum, but I never needed it before. I videoed the show of Inanimus (my room mate's grandson's band https://www.inanimus.com/?fbclid=IwAR2PwgMSE96PLQQndUBtRbPHrzAZaV1vc0coJOnR4I1HLBCE-k3hKwXFZtU ) a few days ago using my Samsung HD camera. But it only saves the video on my computer in their proprietary format and can only be edited in their program. That program won't download to my W10 computer from the camera. It will to my WXP DAW computer. It will play back on the XP machine, jerkily. The audio plays seamlessly, but the video is stop-start all the way through. I managed to capture the MP4 files on this (W10) computer but have the same jerky playback in WMP. Says the format is unsupported. I'm sure I had Windows Movie Maker on this machine before I upgraded to W10, but it ain't here now. All I have is something called "Video Editor", which sucks. I have Windows Movie Maker on the XP box but, as mentioned, it doesn't play well. Looking on the Best Buy website, I see several inexpensive programs from Majix, Pinnacle, Cyberlink and Sony. Recommendations wanted and remember I'm retired now and on a fixed income. Eighty dollars or less. Thanks!
  19. Hmmm. Could there be a way to keep the Tempo view open and a keyboard shortcut assigned to the counter? I know normally, you set the tempo and click OK, the view disappears.
  20. I only have 2 acoustic guitars, but no back seat.
  21. Watched the ball drop in NY and the acorn drop in Raleigh. Had some sparkling grape juice with the room mate at midnight. New Year's Day (say, didn't somebody in Cakeland write a song called that?) had the traditional Southern meal of collard greens and black-eyed peas along with steak. Had the becan with breakfast.
  22. Did you download their latest drivers? What version of Cakewalk? What is your operating system?
