Just out of curiosity, was it 4 hours non-stop recording? If it was done in multiple recordings, like 3 or 4 minutes of recording (typical song length), did you save between recordings? Edit: in any case, your recording should still be on your drive even if it is not shown in your project. If you go into your project folder under the folder 'Audio', your recording should still be there.

"The following Channels are in use by another application"

... and make sure you update the title of this thread if things get fixed on your end. Just add [solved] to the title if John's suggestion works out for you. -
Does adding a graphic card instead of using the on board Intel graphic card has any significant improvement in Cakewalk? I don't use my DAW's PC for gaming at all. But I wonder if adding a cheap passively cooled graphic card, similar in power to the Intel on board, would free up the CPU enough to make a difference. ?

You may also want to check what I did with the AZ Controller plugin: Also note that DAW presets commands are received through the 'MIDIIN3 (Oxygen Pro 61)' interface, but plugin presets command are received through the 'Oxygen Pro 61' interface. What I ended up doing is create an entry of AZ Controller for DAW mode and an entry for ACT midi controller to use ACT for plugins with WAI disabled. I only want WAI to be controlled by AZ Controller. I can then use ACT learn for plugins. It works very well that way. I guess I could disable ACT for the AZ Controller since I don't use it there...

Slate Fresh Air is FREE Again - for a Limited Time
Jacques Boileau replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Before having Fredh Air, I often reached for La Petite Excite. Loved how I could add low end and/or high end without reaching for an eq. Don't ask me how it compares to Fresh Air, my hearing in the high register and good enough for that. -
You can also still get an older version installer downloaded for free. You may want to try it out before dishing the full $2.99! ? Here is the link to installers: Element v0.41.1

What no link!??! Jeez, this thread is full of beginers!

32c was never 29, it is the regular Mixbus that gets discounted to 29. Edit: for those who don't know, there are 2 versions of Mixbus. The regular one with regular eq and the 32c which, of course, has the 32c eq.

I thought IK's Hammond B-X3 would be a great candidate for me to create my first instrument preset for my Oxygen Pro 61 controller. And it worked great! I am no keyboard player, I am a guitarist, but I thought the B3 would benefit having control over using the faders, knobs and button on the controller. So I checked the CCs that the B-X3 responds to. That is well laid out in the settings by IK, which made that part very easy. Then I decided how I would map out the B-X3's controls to what is available on the controller. Here is how things ended up . The upper drawbars are assigned to the faders The pedals drawbars are assigned to the first and second knobs The first 6 lower drawbars are assigned to knobs 3-8 (nothing left for the last 3 drawbars ?) The rocker switches are assigned to the pads, each rocker switched control by 2 pads vertically. For example for the volume rocker switch: the top pad does 'normal' and the bottom does 'soft'. The first 3 switches (pads column 1-3) and the last 4 switches (columns 4-7) are color coded to make the distinction easy. The last column of pads is used to control brake. Bottom red pad is stop and top green pad is go. ? Finally, the 'vibrato and chorus' rotary switch was a little bit of a problem to do. I settled to use the fader buttons to do it. Buttons 1-6 control the 6 settings. You of course first use the mode switch of the controller to put it in midi mode. As a bonus, I mapped the Leslie speed and brake to the 2 remaining fader buttons (7-8) Since I know very little about the Hammond B3's operation, if you have any suggestion on improving this let me know. I tried integrating my Oxygen Pro 61 controller to Cakewalk using the control surface plugins provided with Cakewalk with some success. But it seemed there were always somethings missing in all of them. I could never do exactly what I wanted. None provided me with a complete solution. Then I heard about the AZ Controller control surface plugin. This plugin was created by Alexey Zhelezov ( @azslow3) and is available on his website here. It is a bit complex, but that comes from its great flexibility at integrating all functions of a controller to Cakewalk. I watched this video from Alexey and I was ready to go create my own mapping for the Oxygen Pro. Really excellent work by Alexey in creating this plugin! I certainly do not understand everything AZ Controller can do, but I learned enough to do all I needed to integrate my M-Audio Oxygen Pro Controller to Cakewalk. And it works great!!! I needed to create a user daw in the Oxygen Pro using the preset editor because the knobs didn't register in AZ Controller, but then I had access to everything and could map everything exactly as I wanted it to be. You can find the needed files on the azslow website. My preset is currently in the discussions board, but my understanding is that it will be moved to the presets board at some point. Here are the features of my AZ controller preset: Faders control track or bus faders depending on WAI focus Knobs control pan and work very well with the knob center being the center of the pan in Cakewalk (nice!) Rec, Mute and Solo buttons work as expected for tracks and busses Select button: I have mapped it to input echo for tracks and it toggles waveform preview for busses by default Bank buttons moves the WAI 8 tracks or busses focus by -8 or +8 Encoder knob moves the WAI 8 tracks or busses focus by -1 or +1 (nice!) Back button is mapped to undo (quicker than the shift-Undo pad, but that works too) Fader 9 controls both left and right of the first output strip (not the master, just the output for overall volume without affecting the mix) The two buttons on the right of the pads control the WAI focus. The top one puts the focus on the tracks and the bottom one on the busses The buttons v and ^ (shift-<< and shift->>) also changes the focus to tracks and busses (until I find better use for them!) Stop, play, record, <<, >> and loop buttons work as expected Shift Pad 15 (view) didn't do anything, so I mapped it to show/hide the Inspector (that is done in the Oxygen Pro controller's preset) I haven't done a mix yet using it so things may change as I use it. Any suggestions are welcomed. Edit: It has now been moved to the Presets sub forum and can be found her: M-Audio Oxygen Pro 61 Preset

I only have the Solid State Logic ones, so I can't compare. But I would venture that most family members and friends listening to our mixes couldn't tell the difference in sound between the Waves ones, the Solid State Logic ones or even the Pro Channel's EQ E and G mode! I think its all in our minds! ? I`ll go take a coffee now...

These are made by Waves not by Solid State Logic themselves.

Agree with others... and is it just me or the bass drum distort? It may be voluntary, distortion is used a lot these days, but it does not please me. In fact the track feels pushed to the limit and it feels pumping and distorting too much.

MT Power Drum Kit 2 By Manda Audio Is Now FREE!
Jacques Boileau replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
This has been available free for a few years. That video dates back to 2018, when I first got it. But thanks to Larry it made me check and it was updated. I had 2.0.9 and it is now 2.1. It is also a good reminder for newcomers. This is a very good, fully processed, rock drum kit, if that is what you need. It will save you time since you won't need much additional processing. If you are starting out doing rock in your DAW, you should give it a try.
