  1. Thanks very much Nigel - I'm not used to getting positives on my vocals! Steve
  2. Good job Lee! Just wait till your facing 70 (about a year and a half away for me - but it is on my mind) - How can I be that old...I don't feel old!
  3. Cool song Freddy - there are people who are unique that we remember through our life, like your friend. This is a great story.
  4. Nice work Clint - I like the chord progression a lot. Steve
  5. I saw the tag Indian and I had to check it out immediately. I was not disappointed. Which sitar plugin did you use? Very cool and different. Was that a female vocal or an instrument?
  6. Thank you for the nice compliment Mark - I appreciate it. Steve
  7. Thanks Larry - Steely Dan is one of my top three influences. Steve
  8. Thanks for the feedback Tom - I know that I am not a proficient singer, so I tend to try and hide it a little if I can. I have to do a lot of work to get them even to the point of being acceptable! Steve
  9. Very cool. For me I would bring the bass down a little (hard to believe I am saying that!) - And I would do the same with the vocal. The vox seems to ride above the mix. Good work, good lyrics - look forward to the vid.
  10. Nice groove - now I think I'll go have a frozen margarita on the veranda ?
  11. Let me change it up and make the reference a Donald Fagan reference ? . Totally cool song, I love it.
  12. This sounds great to me - I prefer less verb on vocals in general, but it works here.
  13. Ahhh 2005 the year my Toyota Tacoma was born and purchased. It's been a good old girl for all these years. I don't hear anything wrong with the mix, sounds good to me.
  14. Nice old time rock riff Jack. Brought me back. Steve
  15. Hauntingly delicious!
  16. Here's a cover of a Steely Dan song from 1974. Jeff Baxter, who played the lead guitar on the original version is an amazing multifaceted person. https://baselines.com/?p=6470
  17. Hi! Thanks for listening and leaving some feedback. Yes, I tried having a couple of shots before singing it but all it did was make me tired LOL! Steve
  18. Usually the copyright claims I have heard about are ridiculous. But in this case, it is really really close. You cannot listen to this without thinking of Mr. Blue Sky for long sections. I like your song, but I agree, it is way too close for comfort. There are some changes you could make that I think would lessen the impact. The rise of a half tone at 27 seconds (Gas) is too much. At that point, even I was thinking that you just decided to use Mr. Blue Sky on purpose.
  19. Thanks Larry - he sure did some great songs with very interesting melodies and lyrics.
  20. I like it - great guitar tone, Douglas. I might put a little more low end on the bass, but that is just personal preference, you can hear it fine. Steve
  21. Love when that slidy reverby guitar comes in - and the bass tone along with it. Good vox too. Steve
  22. Nice David. Liked those drums.
