  1. Thanks for stopping by Wookiee - I thought about using that bass synth line because of the Donna Summer song, but I figured the rest of the piece was different enough to get away with it. Maybe not though LOL. Hope you are well. Are you in the US? If so, have a great Thanksgiving...enjoy!
  2. Thanks for the listen and comment Mark! That part you mentioned was one of the built in Cakewalk sounds - I don't remember which one it was. Steve
  3. I guess the picture didn't come through - I'll try again. It was called Italo
  4. Hi Esther - sounds good - I like the piano tone, sounds like a real acoustic piano. One bit of advice I got along the way is that the vocal should sit in the mix. Picture the players on stage and see if everything fits your vision. For me, I would bring them down in the mix a little, but it varies from person to person. You have a powerful voice. Look into iZotope tools if you haven't already. Nectar and Tonal Balance are good to work with. Steve
  5. Nice job Larry - glad to have you here submitting your songs. Steve
  6. Hi Larry - I feel the same. You have to have a little fun in the writing process. Sometimes people notice, sometimes they don't, but that's OK. I'm glad you came by for a listen.
  7. It was in the Rapture set. It used to be free with Cakewalk. I think it might still be in the newer releases as well.
  8. Here's a slightly pumped up mix of a song on the album The Instrumentalist. https://baselines.com/?p=6336
  9. Nothing wrong with this Mark - I love it. Steely Dan groove (love them). I like the space that exists even with a lot going on. Great job. Steve
  10. This is a great song Lynn - brings me back to the 70s muically. (a good thing) Your vocal is perfect for the song. Love the guitar licks throughout. The whole thing has character and is well thought out. Steve
  11. I've seen this come up in my notifications a lot so thought I would give it a listen. Wow - it sounds great. I like the ringing of the toms and the snare sound. Everything is good, well produced and interesting. Great work and thanks for sharing. Steve
  12. Hi Larry - thanks a lot for listening. It's been a while since I played any XTC - gotta go dig up some of their stuff!
  13. Hey thanks David - I thought the added 'with the song' on your comment was funny - because I'm probably not going to have good luck at the gate LOL.
  14. Thanks Jack - I did that on the audio, but couldn't get it set in the video. I tried a new upload to youtube with the better audio, but for some reason that one got flagged for copyright whereas the first one I uploaded didn't. Oh well, teaches me not to release things early.
  15. TH-U is my go to for guitar! I love it. I use the area that has all the Jazz guitars most. I don't know why they call it jazz, those tones are great for a lot of rock/blues stuff. I also use the Acoustic settings as well. Steve
  16. I owe a great deal of thanks to the people who helped out along the way. Some truly great ideas which I hope I implemented properly. Thank you Eric Parsons, mark skinner, antler, Wookiee, jack c.! Here's the video of the final product: https://baselines.com/?p=6319 (I changed the audio on the mp3 file, but I couldn't upload the new audio to YouTube. This link has a player for just the new audio - I bumped the bass up a little and cut some high end)
  17. I'm going to upload the finished product here tonight. Here's the post on my blog. https://baselines.com/?p=6319
  18. Incredibly clear images, nice quality and peaceful music along with it. Well done.
  19. This is absolutely fantastic. I love it.
  20. Nice work Douglas - I like that wah on the guitar and the other guitar activity that is going on in the background. Nice groove.
  21. Hey thanks Mark - I think a lot of the Beatleish stuff is due to the Reel ADT I used on the vocals...that and the Bass part I guess since I am a huge early McCartney sound. I made some more edits based on the comments here and I think I can make it a lot better. Thank you for listening. Steve
  22. Hi Eric - I am back. I cut out a bunch of the bass notes and really dialed back the Renaissance Bass, and I think I am overjoyed - I have to check it on different speakers, but your suggestion has made the song so much better. It opens up the snare and actually makes the bass better by eliminating some notes during the verses. Steve
