This is a great song Lynn - brings me back to the 70s muically. (a good thing) Your vocal is perfect for the song. Love the guitar licks throughout. The whole thing has character and is well thought out. Steve

I've seen this come up in my notifications a lot so thought I would give it a listen. Wow - it sounds great. I like the ringing of the toms and the snare sound. Everything is good, well produced and interesting. Great work and thanks for sharing. Steve

Hi Larry - thanks a lot for listening. It's been a while since I played any XTC - gotta go dig up some of their stuff! -

Hey thanks David - I thought the added 'with the song' on your comment was funny - because I'm probably not going to have good luck at the gate LOL. -

Thanks Jack - I did that on the audio, but couldn't get it set in the video. I tried a new upload to youtube with the better audio, but for some reason that one got flagged for copyright whereas the first one I uploaded didn't. Oh well, teaches me not to release things early. -

Thanks for listening and commenting Douglas. Steve -
TH-U is my go to for guitar! I love it. I use the area that has all the Jazz guitars most. I don't know why they call it jazz, those tones are great for a lot of rock/blues stuff. I also use the Acoustic settings as well. Steve

I owe a great deal of thanks to the people who helped out along the way. Some truly great ideas which I hope I implemented properly. Thank you Eric Parsons, mark skinner, antler, Wookiee, jack c.! Here's the video of the final product: https://baselines.com/?p=6319 (I changed the audio on the mp3 file, but I couldn't upload the new audio to YouTube. This link has a player for just the new audio - I bumped the bass up a little and cut some high end)

Incredibly clear images, nice quality and peaceful music along with it. Well done.

This is absolutely fantastic. I love it.

Nice work Douglas - I like that wah on the guitar and the other guitar activity that is going on in the background. Nice groove.

Hey thanks Mark - I think a lot of the Beatleish stuff is due to the Reel ADT I used on the vocals...that and the Bass part I guess since I am a huge early McCartney sound. I made some more edits based on the comments here and I think I can make it a lot better. Thank you for listening. Steve -

Hi Eric - I am back. I cut out a bunch of the bass notes and really dialed back the Renaissance Bass, and I think I am overjoyed - I have to check it on different speakers, but your suggestion has made the song so much better. It opens up the snare and actually makes the bass better by eliminating some notes during the verses. Steve -

Hi Eric - thank you for taking the time to listen and comment. I'm going to try your suggestion, but with a ducking scheme rather than retracking the whole bass. I think that will work, and maybe there are sections I will punch in to remove bass notes where the snare hits. Steve -

No, you were spot on. I use Renaissance bass plugin to add that very low end, and it was higher than it should have been for 60hz range. Hopefully I have that fixed. I uploaded what I hope is the final here: https://baselines.com/?p=6319 Thanks a bunch for helping me out with this. Steve -

Thanks Jack - I will bring the bass down a couple of dB. Thank you for your time! -
Hello all songwriters and producers/engineers. I'm asking for your critical comments if you have a minute. I've put this through 3 or 4 mixes and I like the headphone sound, but I bring it out to the truck and it's still not pleasing. The low end I think is what is bothering me, and maybe lack of electric rhythm guitar. Can you offer some technical suggestions before I publish it? Thanks a bunch for your time and comments. https://baselines.com/Please_Saint_Peter3.mp3 Steve

RME FirefaceUCX2 40-Channel USB Interface [Solved]
steve@baselines.com replied to RexRed's topic in Instruments & Effects
RME makes high quality stuff. I have the Babyface Pro and it is solid and works great with the totalmix software. The only thing I would make better is the usb connection. It is a little loose. I've seen this problem with other devices as well. I hope you are enjoying your new gear. Steve -

Very cool. I usually like the exact copy strategy, but this works very well. Nice work, you got my attention!

Thanks Mark! Sometimes I try to go in a different direction. Usually it fails but I keep trying ?

Hiya Steev - yes, be assured all my music is safe for human reproduction activities. Oh and I care deeply about the existence of Laurin - Jacyn, not so much.
