  1. My band covered this song when we were first starting out...this brought back some great memories. Your version sounds good to me. Here are a couple of things you might look into. It took me a long time to learn that whenever I use anything (compression, eq, fx,etc), when I get to a point where I think it's good, I back off everything I added by at least half. LOL - it saves a lot of time coming in the next day and doing it. Also, I am not a fan of high/low pass filters, but they do have their place when used in moderation. I think you could open up and separated the sound a little if you tried some of this on some of the tracks. I'd also make some of the tracks more staccato and less droning. If you are using Cakewalk, look into the Sonitus compressor. Even after all this time, it is still my go to for handling mild gainstaging. I think that the interface for this particular plugin is incredibly useful and tells me exactly what I want to know.
  2. Hi Freddy - thank you for listening and leaving feedback!
  3. Thank you! - It's so true, a lot went on in our lifetimes - hold on tight I think a lot more is to come!!
  4. Hi Bjorn - thanks for listening. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a message.
  5. I REALLY enjoyed that. The photography was stunning and the music fit perfectly. I almost felt like I was there. The Shetland looked a lot like a drummer we once auditioned LOL...except no cigarette hanging out of the mouth. Thank you so much for posting it. I liked the Cemetery shot you got. I bet those sheep never knew the whole world would be watching them.
  6. Well that comment made my day! Thank you so much Lynn!
  7. I guess it's kinda pop, a little jazz - not sure. I couldn't come up with a drum part I liked, so I left this forkable on Bandlab. https://www.bandlab.com/post/d70c0284-aca8-ed11-a8e0-000d3a3f8f45 Thanks for your time!
  8. Nice flow / tempo to this one - good work!
  9. Nice heartfelt piece Wookiee, I enjoyed listening to it.
  10. Hi Lynn - thanks so much for your positive feedback on this! Steve
  11. HI Andy - this is all I see at the top of the post - evidently I am not following, but I still get email notifications. Under the notifications there is an option I have on: Someone I am following makes a post - but I think if I turn that off, I won't get notified of new songs by others. I just want to stop this one post from alerting me when somebody comments on it. Thanks for your info. Steve
  12. The only things listed there are mostly my posts. It's funny, I don't think I ever followed this post. Maybe when other people I follow post here, I get an email? The only way I can think of not getting the emails is to unfollow those who post - not ideal.
  13. Hi - TIA for any assistance. How do I stop getting email notifications for a single post? I somehow got on the list to get notified whenever anyone replies to a post titled 'Song Association Game ' - while it was great fun for a couple of days, it's been going on since August of last year and I have had enough.
  14. Sounds really nice. I agree with the comments about the high end. It just might be my old ears but I think the master would benefit from a little more high.
  15. Nice work, sounds great - where is the ocean scene done?
  16. Great drum sound, particularly that snare. Nice work on this one.
  17. You can hear the upgrade in the new mix. Cheers! Good work.
  18. I like this one Mark - nice vocal. Instruments sound good. It struck me that the drums could have something else done to them, but I am not sure what. Powerful vocal performance.
  19. Thanks Jesse. It was meant to sound frenetic like the old time 'Extra, Extra read all about it' or the teletypes spitting out the news in the newsroom. The video does eventually have a happy ending of sorts. The organ plays along with the piano for the most part. There is also a pair of Ukuleles in there. Steve
