  1. Thanks for your suggestions - as always I will listen back with your thoughts in mind - usually people here know what they are talking about and are correct! Steve
  2. Hi David - thank you for listening. I'm certainly not a vocalist, but I will use your suggestion to learn. Steve
  3. Thank you Nigel - great to hear from you and hope you are well. Steve
  4. Hi Keith - thanks for your feedback, and no offence taken! I know there are two differing thoughts about covers, but I am firmly in the camp of respecting the original. I find that I get the most benefit by sticking to that strategy and saving the arrangement type of work for my own original material. Generally, when I hear a different arrangement of a classic song, I am usually disappointed by it. Perhaps 'Blinded by the Light' is an exception to that. Most of the interesting ideas I have (to me they are interesting) are because of some unique and difficult part of a classic song I've managed to figure out, with interplay between the instruments doing unique rhythms or melodic combinations. It just comes down to getting more enjoyment out of figuring out exactly what is going on.
  5. Here's my version of the great Elton John song form back in the 70's - the best time for music in my opinion....but then I am an old fart, so there's that. https://baselines.com/?p=6790
  6. That was a really cool video - great song as well!
  7. Great mix and cool song - great vocal.

    4 U

Sounds great to me. Thanks for the extra info on the vocal. Steve
  10. Nice rhythm on that Uke - and the vocal is great. Are you singing? And the profile pic - that is awesome. Steve
  11. Nice work Treesha - definitely a mood setter! Melodyne is a game changer, not only to make vocals much better than they were, but also to add special little twists and turns to guitar, bass and other instruments as well. I am constantly amazed by it. Steve
  12. Hi Bjorn - nice full soundscape - really draws me in and relaxes my jangled mind! Steve
  13. This is really cool - loved both audio and video
  14. Hi Kevin - thank you so much! Comments like that make it all worthwhile!
  15. Hi again - I did trim out some of the parts of the song and got it under 4 minutes. IF you'd like to listen to that I included it in the original post: https://baselines.com/?p=6779 Steve
  16. I probably did what I always do with new toys - overused them! It's a learning curve - thank you for your ideas! Steve
  17. Hi Nigel - thank you for commenting about the lyrics - I think maybe a lot of people don't get them all, but I am proud of them. Steve
  18. Thanks Treesha I think there is one part there where I dropped a harmony and the main vocal should be brought up. Thanks for your input - I'll be releasing another version based on what people here think. Steve
  19. Hi - thanks for the comment - I agree - Iusually like to make each song shorter than this - I tried a couple of trimmings but they didn't work out too well yet - I will keep at it though!
  20. Thank you for the listen Wookiee - I appreciate it.
  21. Thanks Larry - you are right. I rarely let a song go over 3:30. I think I will try to trim this down, at least take out the very beginning before the vocals come in. Steve
