  1. Not to mention their intrusive can't disable but only delete app.
  2. I learned that working in the opticsl business when a person asked me about the "density" of lenses. I said do you mean refractive index? He said forget it. Marketing often tracks people with buzzwords.
  3. I'm a 1000 plugins too late for this teadious work. Once you get past the first scan you can disable plugins,
  4. It's a big divide from those who make a living. They have to follow bad ideas from clients who picked up a magazine.
  5. Aren't we all? I still download free plugins. It's still enlarging our acquisitions.
  6. I've bought plenty of their loops and never on Spotify. It took them this long to figure that out.
  7. It's also hypocrisy downloading every free plugin out there.
  8. Licensing is ,#1 on this list. If I can't put it on 3 machines...forget it.
  9. I have everything IK and Medla. I should use those. Oh wait maybe I should use a DAW as well. My new hoarding is tutorials. BTW I have an Axe I/O and I have yet to plug an instrument into it. SHAME! Maybe with VIs one should limit to 4tb of space. Stop buying bloated libraries. I no longer buy Kontakt synths since Spire and Serum can pretty much do that stuff along with Reason REs, The only instrument I touched today was my tuba. No DAW or amp required.
  10. Found this https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/sonic-foundry-acid I remember when Sony, Cakewak, Magix, Voyetra where kings of the boxed software in stores. I remember buying those in boxes at Best Buy. Cakewalk Music Creator was my first by them. Then there were generous offers for Home Studio and moving up to Sonar. (it isn't like that now)
  11. I would assume it's their VST3 that is doing that. All of my DAWs choke on them, even their finisher plugins. Too bad developers don't have options in the Windows start menu to bypass plugin scans.
  12. I don't think any of the former Sony people are there anymore. One was Peter. He was the guy in the Sony Seminar Series. Too bad with all of these tutorial sites no one has bothered to duplicate anything like the Sony Seminar Series. Anyone remember what Acid and Soundforge were owned before Sony?
  13. at first I thought you were talking about bitrate
  14. Not sure how cables are somehow an issue these days. There's a greater chance of ruining a board installing an nvme. It has happened before. Plus you have to research which ones will work on boards 10 years old. Not so with SATA. I prefer SATA only for more ports. I like less eggs in a basket. Having an 8gb nvme go bad seems pricey than losing a f 2GB SATAs. The reality is how often do we open a system case any way.
  15. too much of a rocket science for me. That's why I still use SATA.
  16. Just think if something blows it will all go at once.
  17. Always happens when code is acquired but not the coders. It happens all of the time in the gaming industry.
  18. You obviously never used NI products. On 3 systems and this has been going on for years when their updates fail which they often do for me. To get something to the latest version, they have their own registry tool which is a rebranded Windows Installer clean up, wanna talk about overkill in registry entries non is like NI.
  19. Amazed what a pain installing.registering software is these days. Remembering passwords, 10 open tabs, is just a start. As one who has too many loops it's nice just to download ogg format. One of those titles we are not allowed to mention is a decent app when you see the youtube videos.
  20. Never understood the appeal of a sampletron but the one from IK is nice.

Aren't laptop almost like this? Comments were interesting to read. Seems like people forget what still powers the hardware world is something called legacy. Younger people who build their rigs don't get this. I guess it appeals to people that like their systems looking like a fish tank. Cable management is nice but how often do we open our cases?
  22. There are plenty of VSTs that should be stand alone - UJAM, Spire, Sylenth, I wonder if anyone has mentioned it on the Melda forum. Just like Kontakt people ignore the programming part.
