  1. A modern developer would say "I can fix that. I can bring any system to a crawl". Long live Reaper.
  2. I upgraded an OS drive and now PD won't authorize. It always needed online authorization. They never released a final version that doesn't require it. It was my favorite. Either I got lucky but all of my HDDs lasted a long time with this. Always looking for a free quality alternative since the available ones are part of a subscription package.
  3. I have 3 iLoks and it's nice that some developers allow for 3 authorizations. UVI is one of them. If EW and VSL allowed for 2 authorizations I'd be all over that.
  4. Had this issue recently as well. Maybe a glitch.
  5. My UR22 seems to be fine. Amazed that my AP2496 with W7 drivers is still in use on W10.
  6. https://www.production-expert.com/production-expert-1/are-we-seeing-the-end-of-the-daw Maybe for younger generations and certain genres. Older generations will still do things because they are use to it and long as those options remain.
  7. Except it lies by promising things will be better. I mad e up one called stuffed shirts - they look at spreadsheets and ignore the "sheet" they spread.
  8. Magix did this before the rest of them. Don't forget Garage Band I avoid FLs because I have everything except loops. Like I need more of those? I guess the advantage is instead paying $$$ for a loop library for sounds where you might only use a few of them. Sample library developers are doing that now. The drawback to loop subs is no midi files can be auditioned. Every DAW not named Reaper is like iTunes. Besides few people have no idea how large the amount of illegal downloads when it comes to loops. While Image Line rarely gets money from me I always buy their Flexx presets. People always push the panic button on their forum with these boneheaded models for IL's finances but they assure us their lifetime updates are a success. They on;y way the fail is if everyone on that planet has a license. They are not into enshitiffication. They don't mess with Melda, UVI, or WA,
  9. I did the Bapu thing and bought all of the ones I didn't have and it wasn't $88, UJAM is another one of those developers I like because of licensing but I rarely use it. Oh wait I rarely use most of the stuff I bought. I think my most used app is Firefox. We often neglect these drum apps in our DAWs. Live, FL Studio, and the LE version in Cubase are more than adequate. Battery is often neglected. But the beauty of these 3rd party apps is to make your DAW take longer to start up.. Mixcraft adds humor when scanning plugins.
  10. That should be done with all purchases. Imagine what it would be like to download and reinstall bloated libraries. Developers have gotten into a bad happen thinking people don't archive their purchases. That is the problem with these all in one installers. This is where NI gets an F in my book. I never had to pay a download fee that IK use to charge. As many of use have upgraded to SSDs those HDDs make for archiving using a drive dock. This is also where Steam versions of games are great compared to Ubi, EA, ect. You can backup your games and they compress them.
  11. Too bad it wasn't like Melda getting credit for what you have.
  12. It isn't much different than the older installer.
  13. Unfortunately their sample based REs need the sample of the OS drive. It's not as flexible as other players.
  14. So is this plugin manager OK? I'm shy after dealing with NI.
  15. LOL such a lightweight. Since I view Bitwig like Waves I avoid but was really tempted by their last offering. I love FL until I get to the mixing part.....bit I'm stuck with it for my existence.
  16. There are more than one Albion as well. Every developer has to do something than just reinvent the wheel.
  17. That is the answer no one ever follows. I bought Albion Legacy and haven't messed with it just like EW HO, there's probably a couple more I haven't messed with. As for Albion One it's Kontakt which I prefer.
  18. I thought they changed that. When I buy something I download and archive right away. Jam points are IK's loyalty system with is 30% off if you have enough. It also works on their hardware.
  19. Of course. It may be their everything installer. The instrument libraries I relocate their data on another drive. So the BM are installed there to. So I guess getting hold of individual installers and putting those sounds on C drive might work.
  20. Issue exists on 3 systems.
  21. I'm starting to avoid these like I do with free DAW software. I'm not sure which is great the plugins I don't use for the games I don't play.
  22. Surprise since it is a Kontakt player library.
  23. Yep the scanner sticks on Vice and another one. Not so much with the other ones.
