  1. Well that's a difference. There so much speculation but little info when it comes to licensing. Everyone fears the sub model and I wonder how many subs it takes to justify them. When Waves tried the sub only model which I'm sure was a kneejerk decision have they recovered from it? Not from me. Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom was a bargain at 10$ a month but check the price now. People eventually leave subs.
  2. No need to buy the often overpriced graphics card. My next budget build will be onboard graphics.
  3. I'd recommend Studio One. I like the GUI. Live is a laptop first DAW and doesn't have the screen real estate compared to Cubase.
  4. That's because they are like pizza makers who don't eat or taste pizza. Too much of changing the paint.
  5. Demo project uses over 16% CPU usage on Window 10 and it's not even running.
  6. I prefer libraries requiring full Kontakt. It avoids Native Asshat, Kontakt 7 is not usually required, You will find people who are using older video cards or previous Mac OS can't use Kontakt 7 because the GUI is black. Way to go NI.
  7. A fanboy upgrades regardless of is it worth it. The worst thing about live is their browser after Live 8. Open up Live and you will see this circle spinning to check all of the folders you added. Most DAWs don't do that. What few people realize is if you add more folders your Live data base file gets larger - much larger. One time mine was over 3gb and Live itself takes up that space. I no longer use their self updating either. I've had to clear those files hidden in the system.
  8. Can't download it yet. I still have the beta installed.
  9. You had to say that. Loops are my biggest weakness and I don't really use them. That really isn't any different than the plugins I have. At least these don't need authorization. I already have some of these.
  10. I like their stuff. I think they all have midi files and presets.
  11. Anyone bite on this yet? Reality has me thinking that if you have Toontrack, IK, and NI this really doesn't add anything. I don't have that piano or drums.
  12. Time for more DAW drama to break out on the Image Line forum. Like FL is gonna ne part of the NI clusterfrack. Let's not ignore developers now often partner with others for sales. Magix does the same thing with Samplitude. I would think most FL users would give this sale a "meh".
  13. Maybe wiser. People shop around for that $2 product they never use for the free item they will never use.
  14. It did have an advantage back in the day when software only allowed one authorization and you had other systems and didn't want to buy additional licenses. iLok as come a long way since it started - a long way. The real problem with iLok is people will try to steal those.
  15. Hey I like that new word. Another one I hear is called enshitification.
  16. I find this is apple and oranges. Live is a laptop first DAW. But when you open Live it opens up the work area and also when you close it.
  17. BTW he wasn't the first one to leave. People left NI. Who know maybe some of these people collected enough money that they decided they don't or need to work anymore.
  18. How many of us actually buy hardware unless it breaks. I haven't bought any more guitars, basses, wind instruments, ect. We've always been the minority. Most people don't even use desktops anymore. Lucky for PC hardware we benefit from the gaming industry until the PC loses its top seat as the gaming platform.
  19. Live licenses are never cheap. I think the most they ever discounted is 30%. One think about Live is when 12 is released they still work on fixing things in 11. I have 12 beta but never got around messing with it.
  20. It is a small library around 700mb.
