  1. You know sometimes I prefer to just "listen". Always being in "critique" mode gets tiring... So Larry a ? here from me. t one little crit, and maybe this has something to do with BandLab. There's about 4 seconds of silence on both ends of the track. I'd tighten it up a bit.
  2. No doubt about it, the BBC version is head and shoulders better... t
  3. I'll just echo Gary and the rest of the Forum. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention you did a stellar job with the STEEL! t and great chorus!
  4. Lather, rinse, repeat. Good tune. t only crit, I'd want a little more "air" in the top end. How you get there? I struggle with it all the time... Maybe there's some "masking" going on? Upper mid's? Just need a "lift" on the Master EQ? Again, I struggle with it all the time...
  5. Excellent cover. #2 is definitely the "loudest". Its a toss up for me. t

I'm liking the (2022) long mix. Way improved over the original. The snare in ver2 isn't working for me. Just my nickel98 here Phillip; your song, your production... t

So I'll hold the "like". If it remains an instrumental maybe I'd pull the lead "voice" up in spots; maybe. Without the vocal, its hard to say. Its "grooving" for sure, the foundation is laid. t
  8. Print it! t I'd be overjoyed if this was my work...
  9. I don't miss it Maybe Mark is right Spot on there. You have the solo guitar riding the top of the mix, that's where I would put the main vocal as well Just the one harmony vocal? If there's more than one I'd pan them L and R. If not, center it up, and use some mid/side to pull out the center... With the vocal up, as Mark said, it might be just right. Give it a rest and come back to it... t
  10. These guys are good! The rough mix is working, looking forward to the final master. t
  11. Another good one here Doug! t

One of ten good reasons to pickup the album... t
  13. Total hear the Beatles references noted above. Nicely done Peter! One little crit, push the vocal up a bit (you've complained about your voice in the past, I get it, but just do it), the tune deserves it... t
  14. I think I like the original mix a little better if I'm honest. Couple crits. 1) when the kick comes in at 0:48, it doesn't sound like its in the same sound stage as the rest of the tune (seems completely dry to me). 2) the snare is a pretty important element in most/all rock; when its present, I find it to be a bit too weak. Just my impressions as I listened and things I would bring up if we were in the control room together. t also, I had a little trouble following the lyrics, think I would post them, but that's just me...
  15. Take a listen to Ohio, is it perfect? It was timely and released, remember, while Déjà Vu was on the charts.
  16. Yes, my first thought, Freddy goes all U2. I love it! t Freddy's catalog is pretty deep, so the best? Timely for sure, well done, no doubt. his absolute best? is there really a Beatles or Zep tune that's head and shoulders better than the rest?
  17. Print it Gary. Well Done! t
  18. Chicago meets ELP; with a twist! t

  20. Jesse, you know I love your work and a ?'s here is in order. But, give me just a little fade/silence on the end of each tune. If its "button tight", great; give me a moment of silence. If its a "hit", let it ring out, or fade it out. Just my nickel98 on the production end. t
  21. Simply put; Outstanding! t note to the forum: only takes a minute to drop a "like" and comment at YouTube...
