I retired (then sold) it years ago. I had a “Gold Limited Edition” and I don’t remember it being any worse than your average tube amp. Maybe I gated it with an Alesis 3630. t

Use a “brad” drill bit, it’s got a little “point” on it. Put that point into the mark left by center punch. And yes, a drill press is the best (only) way to get the hole square. t

Every VSTi has its "quirks" on at the 127 mark. t

What is that noise at 1:39? Like the way you changed things up every time thru. Your song, your production; but some of the non traditional "noises" in Kontakt; maybe they'll grow on me... ? t

Whole lot of things to compliment here Barry. As always, your storytelling is top shelf. Much impressed with the horn arrangement; very nice. What's the fx chain on the vocal? Is the "phasing" I'm hearing on purpose? (or is it my knackered ears? yikes!) Not to send you off on a buying spree, but I've had pretty good luck with IKM's Sunset Studio. I usually set one up on an aux buss for the guitars and another aux buss for the drums. If you're tempted, WAIT; IKM runs sales all the time..... ?'s ? t

Sometimes that's too much gain at the limiting stage. I don't know what you're mastering with, but I find Ozone, when left to its own devices, will "push" the make up gain in the limiter way (IMHO) too much. Lately I've been using the Lurssen Mastering Console for the gain and FabFilter L2 to limit; adding very little gain on the FF L2. Again, I don't know what your mastering chain is or the Drum VSTi you're using; but something to look at... t oh and ?'s
