Panda Express, I'm not going that far (but I am smiling). I've got a good attitude lift this morning catching up with what everyone is up to here in Songs. You've got me ending on a very upbeat note! Big A+ here. Tom

The only way to "fix" a fragile ego is to bruise it a bit, take your lumps and form a callus. Good start here, keep moving forward, post another tune and grow along with the rest of us. Nicely done ritardando there at the end. Goggle says I spelled it right, my spell check says not; oh well, must latin or sumpin huh? Tom

The intro reminded me of Seven Bridges Road (mixed with a little Jon Anderson), well done indeed. I'm going to get myself in a bit of trouble here but the "grid" is both our friend and our enemy. That persistent "one" keeps coming round and we feel it necessary to be right on the beat. Building tempo maps is a lot of work, but its one of the most important tools we have. For me its got to "breathe". I know that most modern music is laid down to a click track, but the A list studio cats are dancing around that click. What I'm trying to say is your tune is just a bit "stiff". If I'm producing, we've got to put a bit more "feel" into it, that takes it to the next level. Fine tune overall, maybe I'm criticizing my own work rather than yours, I don't know; just me... Tom

Certainly I want to hear the finished product, but I gotta tell ya I really enjoyed watching the session! When the Beatles anthology CD came out my sister handed it off to me instantly. She hated the takes that weren't perfect; I loved it! We constantly hold our works up to the bar that is finished commercial product, and certainly we should and must. But it is refreshing to know that "polished" works, take hard work, and not every take is "perfect". Angela has the chops for sure, the whole tune is excellent. Thanks for sharing, Tom

Wow, that pic "collage" as you call it is gorgeous, really enhances the piece! I missed most of the fall here in the PacNW, on the road on business. The leaves are gone and the rain returned late last nite, we're in for a gray and drippy few months. But you've brightened my day, thank you for that. Tom ps: what are you using for your strings?

Freddy, no back pages here! With your kind permission I think I'll send a copy to an old bandmate in SoCal. He gigs with a band, Lonnie and the Lugnuts; they do a lot of car shows, etc. This is right in their wheelhouse. Well done! Tom

Well done CHC! Great vocal Danny. Maybe its the Bose cans, but if I'm honest (and when am I not) its a bit bass heavy, like I'm listening to the bass players tracking mix; just me... Overall AAA+ Tom ps: I would be remiss if I didn't mentioned the most excellent drumming. All the performances were top shelf!

a high energy rock instrumental - "Michael's House (a slight return)"

AAA+++ my highest rating! But no surprise, as always, I’m a fan. Love the last moments at the end, reminds me of a guy I saw back in ‘68 at the Hollywood Bowl. Keep it up! -
David, ”shady” probably comes from my love of pulp fiction crime novels (Chandler fans will surely flame me now) I did co-write a tune “Lady in the Shade” 72-73ish, but I don’t think she was “shady”. Meatloaf, I’ll wear that proudly. Thanks for listening. Tom

2:18 that's the spot I must agree. Well done as always; gots to luv ya some Wookie! T

I use AmpliTube, the SVT preset. If I’m playing my bass I come in thru the LA-610, but use the same exact software chain for real bass or Trilian. Sounds like (no pun intended) you’re set! I don’t use the saturation knob, maybe I should. I also high pass any “rumble”. Tom

Everybody's favorite drum VST and more

If you want easy, ToonTracks EZDrummer is the way to go. Toons SuperiorDrummer3 is amazing, but also amazingly complex. Tom -
But B3 midi would be a whole 'nother animal don't ya think. I can slap the piano about a bit; playing a convincing B3 part, not so much. T

Jesse is most definitely one of a kind. Keep it up Jesse! Tom

I'm going to disagree with Douglas on the drum levels, a ballad like this I think its fine (I'd actually pull the bass down a bit). Mixing is such a personal thing and is there really only one right mix on any tune? Definitely a 60's vibe, Peter and Gordon, sure why not. I like it! Tom

Hayseed in my vocabulary is a "country bumpkin", so not at all what I expected. I don't know why but I'm thinking of some of the scenes from Yellow Submarine here. Before the Blue Meanies arrive. Interesting piece for sure, but as John said, it just kind of ends abruptly. Tom

A little Jethro Tull vibe is what I'm feeling. The Vocal and Lead Guitar seem to be a bit overwhelmed by the backing track. I'd pull both up a bit, but its your tune and production. I have trouble leaving it all in the vocal both, trying to get a "good" take: that was never a problem when I was young, but often produced some "shrill" results. If I was producing I'd encourage you to take one more run at it and just really let go; you've always got this track. That being said, overall well done! Tom

You nailed it! T

I’ve been building a custom kit in SD3 since its release. I’m using some of my favorite EZD pieces in that kit. Sidney hit the nail on the head, EZD sounds are processed, SD3 are not. SD3 can be a bit daunting. T

With SD3 on the m.2 it loads “yesterday”. Trilian, ditto. Passed on both Modos. I’m all in when EZBass is released. Just wish EZKeyes had a B3. Come on Toon! T

Very intimate feel on this one. Again, must be someone special in your life. Really like the vocal harmonies. I would "dress" up the bass line just a bit; study McCartney, he holds down the tune solidly, but adds those little embellishments along the way. Overall a big thumbs up. Tom ps: I've commented on the picture you use on your tunes before, no criticism here , but I would have it reflect the tune a bit more. Great on the "Country Rockers", but these intimate love songs really need some special. just me...

Ouch, you were exorcising some demons on this one; I feel for you. Nicely done, I hope it did the trick. T

Classic Oister here! I'm lovin' that 5 string bass. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that "insistant" kick; that's metal. Of course, great tone and touch on the guitars; its all about the "touch", and you got it! Great vid as well. Fine production on all fronts, start to finish (love the phone at the end); keep it up my brother! T
