I’d go (actually have gone) with Jim at StudioCat. ProTools? Well I’ve passed on that; just so you know, I’ve seen the full meal deal in action, can you hear me yawning? The UA thang, least favorite investment I made last year, just being honest here. I own more good mics than the 4 mic inputs and outboard pres (8 line ins in addition to the 4 pres on the UFX. Oh god do I love to buy reverb plugs, yikes! Never felt like I was “settling” with ToonTracks! And I do understand you were being facetious. As to samples, you’re only as good as your creativity allows, you know the rest. John, honestly I’ve never thought “if only he” when reviewing your work. Someone did mention it was time to try a “full band” on one of your tunes; that was a complement man! You’re fine brother, just keep rockin’ in the free world! Tom

Steve Cook has covered “dynamic links” extensively, do a search. That m.2 should be your sample drive, but to each his own. PFiles and PData should stay on the C drive. For VSTi that want to put samples in either folder, use the dynamic link. Bob Bone and I have debated the proper use of m.2 drives; IF you can afford two AND your mb supports it, go for the C on the m.2. BUT, samples load so screaming fast from the m.2, for ME, that’s where it shines! YMMV, just my nickel98’s worth, take it with a grain of salt!! Tom

I definitely remember it, think I was in IL. at the time; listened in a Ford rental, pretty certain of that. Anyway, as always you’re kickin’ ***** my brother! Rock on. Good luck with the release. Tom

Advanced for me. The Neutron integration is interesting, I’ve only really dug in with it once, meaning let Ozone & Neutron make all the decisions. Ended up pulling most of Neutron out, but it did open up some interesting avenues that I went down with Pro Channel and Fab Filter. T

Wow, I’m not sure what the time signature is, but I think this is one of your best. I mentioned Wild Man Fischer one time, but Jesse is getting way sophisticated (or I’m just finally starting to “get” it). You know when Beefhart offered Frank a place in the band, Frank responded “I don’t think I can cut the charts Don!”. Ditto! I’m a fan (and an owner of a ton of Zappa vinyl, not to mention the good Captain, The GTO’s) Rock on Jesse (or whatever your genre is) Tom

Been a subscriber for a long time. Of course if you followed the recent Ozone thread you heard some praise for Groove 3. Check it out! T

David, I think you “completed” the piece nicely! I frequently say “your song, your production”; this one really deserved to be “tied up in a nice bow”. Well done. T

I feel for ya man! And I get it, sometimes it just feels better getting it off your chest. We really do need a way to authorize offline. And data caps are always “hidden” in the extra fine print, and “slow data” really means “no data”. T

FabFilter for me. T

Another fine track and video! Boy can she sing. A lot going on here, I am impressed. Just as Freddy said, hope the album does well, you certainly deserve it! Tom

Been an Ozone user since version 5. Can’t speak to the others, but Ozone is a very powerful piece of software. Not cheap! Hugely configurable, or use their “assistant” and let Ozone master your mix. (notice the small “m” in master). Download the demos, take some time to run each through its paces, then; you pays yer money and makes yer cherce. One of the “best” make it loud plugs for me was Slate’s FG-X. But he’s gone “subscription”, to my knowledge has abandoned support, and homey don’t play dat. HTH ps: can you see my “you’re number one” salute there mr slate?

I thought it just “pops” up when you have one of those throat lozenges. T

Well done! I loved this. And, I’ve been playing a looong time; I still don’t play bass with my thumb and melody with my fingers. You’re ahead of the game, well my game anyway. Tom

The harmony parts are indeed very good. Liked the way you brought it in on the second line of the second verse. For me, and I don’t know why, The Association came to mind. Blast from the past, eh? Well developed story line, good piece of songwriting, nicely done overall. Tom

Wow! Pretty cool, I gotta say you nailed it. Let me correct myself; Very cool! Tom ps: Darren can sing!

Bit of an abrupt change there at :48, but bjorn mentioned “kakku style change-ups” and as the song progressed I was into it. Not my genre, but held me to the end. And, I like that outro! Tom

You’re moving forward Bhav, keep at it. Tom

Correct me if I’m wrong, as we’ve reviewed your work, some classic bands, artists get mentioned. You know what, your style is as unique as any mentioned. I’m digging it brother. I was going to say, “maybe I’d go with a little cleaner tone on that rhythm guitar”; but belay that, its your tune, its you! Fine work Doug, fine work all around. Tom
-
Nicely done! We guitar players, of a “certain age” shall we say?, have a tough time staying sharp. But, the emotion you bring (and I mean you and the “royal” you) is really what’s most important. You’ve “caught” that, that’s all that matters. We pick (no pun intended) our battles, make subtle changes to the material, and say our piece. Again, Lovely! Tom

Funk me up baby! This track is working; shake a tail feather mama. Right now that bass is the “lead” instrument, ain’t nothing wrong with that. If we’re done, print it! If a vocal, or as Gary mentioned “a searing guitar solo” is in the works, we want it now! I do like the outro, come back in with the piano line; tres bien mon ami! Tom
-
Some classic Freddy for sure! Really like that sharp five. So, if I’m “behind the glass” on this one Freddy, I’d have you come out of the solo on the four; kind of a bridge, but I think the verse would work fine across it as is. One little niggle, lead guitar is “walking “ on the vocal a bit; its a “taste” thing, like things “falling apart” at the end; just me. Like I said “classic” Freddy; I love it! Tom

OS - 250 gig SSD Samples - the biggest m2 you can afford; if your board supports it Audio - I’m still using WD Black drives. If you want SSD rock on baby. For me “wasting” an m2 drive for OS doesn’t make sense. BUT if your board supports two, and your budget can stand it, go for it!

That’s nice! Is another good one.

Thanks for the update, if I had to choose one fender amp, it would be the Blackface Super Reverb. So often when reviewing it comes down to “taste”. “If I was producing, I would”. Lots of times I just want to say “print it”, “what else ya got?” This is where the DAW does not “shine”; no project is ever “finished”. Thank care Lynn, I’m a fan.
