What you’re saying is I should get off my lazy ***** and buy a TB cable? t why did I upgrade to the UFX+ if not to take full advantage of its capabilities? why am I asking you ?

Yes, after I had changed the measure 1 Tempo to 120.01 (9 was set to 120.00) 9 (instead of 1) changed to the new tempo (in this case 100.ish) and subsequent changes all worked as it always has. What I think though, is that if a series of the same tempo are placed (say every 2 measures) then Set Beat will jump back to the first instance in that series, Not the last. Of course this is conjecture. I'll fuss with it and report back with my findings... Again I hope I've made myself clear. t created this to illustrate what I'm seeing On the left I dropped a bunch of Tempo Changes, the audio starts at measure 4. Then at measure 10 the audio increases in speed and I'm about to hit Set Beat 13:1. On the right you can see that the Tempo Change jumped back to measure 1, not to measure 10 where the last Change occurred and that last beat is not "spot on" at 13:1. Not at all what one would expect. There's a work around, if that last 120 at measure 10 is set to 120.01 it all comes out exactly on the n^!s, well it comes out right. If this is how it has to work, for the tempo track to work, I'm all good with it; just got to tell CbB that a "change is coming"

I'll just echo the comments above, and admit (tho a bit embarrassed) that I passed on this recently (only because I was pressed for time) when I saw that it was an instrumental. Lastly I'll say I wish I had some ability to do orchestration; obviously you do! t

? ? good advice! thanks Paul, I'll have a close listen I will consider the case closed and proceed, thanks Jesse Thank you all, I have a tendency toward "sticky fingers" ? and need a "reality check" every once in awhile... t @bjornpdx hit the link in my sig below, My Reel, that will take you to, well, all my work (My Reel as we used to say). well all my work that's worth posting anyways...

So I got this little ditty. Fuss around with it a bit. Now I need a Reality Check. Take a listen, and IF I did steal it, please straighten me out! Working title is Better Days (instead of 05292021, real catchy huh?) , take ya about a minute and a half; do a brother a solid... and you have THANK YOU ALL! sorry 'bout the shout TIA t

SET MEASURE/BEAT AT NOW is broken? Did I miss something in how the new Tempo Track works? I lock Measure 1 at say 120BPM, I then set up a count in at Measure 9 and lock it at 120bpm. Hit record and count the tune in and start playing. Then I go back and start start counting beats find a "1" and SET MEASURE/BEAT AT NOW. This has always put that beat at the "1" . Today (build 175) jumped back and changed the tempo at measure 1 (not to measure 9 as it always has) and my beat that should be on the "1" is now late. What gives? Is this expected behavior? t UPDATE: If I set Measure 1 at 120.01, then the tempo at measure 9 is set properly. Evidently the Tempo Track ignores subsequent "anchors" that are the same value? hope I'm making my "issue" clear...

?'s Nigel! t ? for those that don't "like and comment" over at youtube...

Groovin' without a doubt! Love that pause at the 1:20 ish mark. Your "palette" is certainly broad. No way I could cover that kind of ground (talking about your body of work) 'mazing. Can't wait for the finished product... t

More conventional panning has "cleaned" things up quite a bit I think. I'd go after the HP a little more (lot?) aggressively, but that's a "taste" thing, and with the instrumentation at this point certainly not a deal breaker. More instruments, you'd need more "space"; me thinks. I didn't mention the first go how much I enjoyed your slide work! NICE! Great tune, but I think I mentioned that already... t

?'s agree with Nigel, a little more definition on the bass. t I guess I missed that, tired ears?

Barry here's a screen shot of the Pro Channel EQ Notice that the High Pass [HP there at the lower left] is set at Freq 189 Slope 12db. On this one I was tuned to an open G chord, eight notes on the 4th and 5th strings; a "chugging" rhythm figure, if that makes sense. There's piano and of course bass , and I had to get the rhythm guitar "out of the way" yet still be in the center of the mix. Without those eight notes up the middle, moving the song along, everything just seemed to drag... The lead guitar (for want of a better term) was not so "aggressively" High Passed [freq 113 slope 12db], but pretty much the 5th and 6th strings were untouched, and it was panned opposite the piano during the vocal so it wasn't "in the way". Hope this makes sense and helps a bit... t

“High Pass” or “low cut”, basically we want to “filter” out the low end energy. In the Pro Channel EQ engage the “high pass”, roll it up to about 90hz (I suspect I would be much more aggressive, maybe even 200hz), leave the slope at “default” (12db per octave, I’m on my phone so I can’t look) this will “block” all that “low mud” in the rhythm guitar. I’d do the same on the solo, whatever amp you’re using has a lot of “low end” energy. Sounds great soloed, but tends to “dominate” the mix. Some “high pass” every track; YMMV. HTH t

Yowza, more cool stuff from Jesse! There was a band Space back in the day I used to catch occasionally at the Marina Palace. This would fit right into their set, although Martha was my favorite tune by them. got to give this a big ?'s up, or ??'s t Martha, I know it ain't easy babe, Playin' Monopoly all day. Why don't you take your clothing off!

Yikes! Glad you are ok
-
I'm hearing it ok. I do think I'd high pass the guitar pretty hard Barry; there's a lot of low mids there. For some reason the snare is "hotter" in the left can here, (could be my ears though...). Like that move to the IV chord, brakes the 12 bar up nicely! As always well crafted, you always deliver. t

Recently upgraded to an RME UFX+ (was running the UFX). Using the USB-C port on an ASUS ThunderboltEX3 card (ASUS Z370 MoBo). The USB cable came with the UFX+, (too lazy to buy a TB cable?) hence using the USB-C. The UFX would run at 48 samples, the UFX+ runs at 32; probably under a heavier load (but again, too lazy to "benchmark" it) Pretty sure @Jim Roseberrywill chime in and lets us know if the "C" or "TB" is the way to go. On the RME forum, the administrators basically say its "system dependant"; read that as YMMV. I never ran the UFX via firewire, although I do have a Tascam FW1884, (just use the control surface since going RME). It never could handle the loads that the RME's do, but its "drivers, drivers, drivers", so why are we not surprised? It has a 32 sample setting, but try and use it; "no dice son, you got to work late". t

Nice "build" in this one, really like that BG Vocal in the left can; adds a lot of dimension. Overall A+ I'm thinking... t

No I hadn't noticed. Typically I go to the IV chord. I b7 IV I. Not that I've never used the I b7 b3 I... Another good one Wooks! t

I could do a little "kissin up" and drop numerous ?'s, but I'll just stick to just one ? Liked the delay on the vocal a lot. t
