Had a second listen, seems the consensus is the drum track needs some massaging. The "bones" are here, fine songwriting as always Barry; but you've spoiled us, what else would we expect? t I'll hold my "like" for the next mix...

I'll second (or is it third, forth, am I even in the top ten?)! t

?'s t I always thought it was "I fart in your general direction"

Yes, I got that. Perhaps @Jim Roseberrywill chime in and let us know if the m.2 can be partitioned and maintain its "lightening fast" performance. Most of us are "hobbyists" (me included), so I can understand the need/desire to keep it simple/affordable. For me, the OS has got to be kept to as "light" footprint as possible, if for no other reason, to keep imaging the C drive a manageable task... (time and space) It would appear that its working well for @Johnbee58
-
Using the m.2 drive for the OS is a waste of resources, IMHO IMO. Keep the OS "lean & mean", 256gb is way more than enough in a properly configured system. All executables, dll's (you know, the programs); that kind of thing on the C drive. Samples that stream, or you use regularly, on the m.2 (you know, Superior Drummer, {all Toon products}) Trilian, Omnisphere (you get the picture). Samples with a small footprint, or you use only occasionally, put on a regular SSD. Projects need their own drive! I'm still using "spinning platters", but I'm a dinosaur! 3 drives minimum are necessary for a properly configured DAW! There, I've said it! I get that its not always possible/practical/affordable. Lets not debate it, you know I'm right. And believe me when I say: I know great things CAN be done with an SM57 and a 4 track tape recorder, but its 2021... t At roughly $100 a TB, I'll soon be SSD in all my systems exclusively. But when I was offered a Charter Membership in Procrastinators Unanimous I just couldn't get around to joining...

Ok I'm back, I listened to the CD version over at SoundCloud. (dropped a "like" and "comment" btw, maybe the rest of the community will do likewise) A bit more depth maybe, or was the second listen just confirming what I already thought? as i alluded too above, my ears especially today, are a bit fatigued... t
-
I've only listened to the top version, and its stunning; that's the only way I can describe it. I'll try to get back and evaluate all the versions (warning; the last year has seen a bit of an increase in my tinnitus, my opinions won't be worth much, but at least they will be worth what is paid for them ? je rigole je rigole!) Très bien ma belle dame, très bien! ?'s t Who played the guitar on this? (please don't tell its a midi file!)
-
I missed Movements 1 thru 3 so I'll have to go back and get caught up. I'll put a ?'s on it fer sure. t one little crit, just a bit of a moment of silence at the beginning and end on a final mix/master. the beginning of this one is a bit abrupt, if that's by design (I'm hedging here) ok (I guess). other than that... (see the thumb above)

Been the "deal" price on and off for awhile, ya? No-brainer really; I think I have two WD's and some Samsung's... @InstrEdat $150 we'd clear the shelves in a hot minute! but we can hope in one hand and: well ya'll get my meanin' t

Nicely done! Loved the bass tone on this one, but I should, you're a bass player. Guitarists , who (like me) "play" bass, always stand out like a sore thumb. t left a "like" at YouTube, would have left a comment, but alas... and the burlesque scene at the end; that was great! always leave 'em wanting more

Die I enjoy this? Yes absolutely! BUT, bring the GD vocal UP! I'm old, my ears are tired. That or post the lyrics,so I can follow along... t oh ?'s
-
Brilliant! That's all I have to say for now about that... t I listened to an electronica piece earlier and bailed, it just wasn't working for me. This had me glued in all the way thru. Pretty sure the vocal bits had something to do with it. Just shows to go ya, you don't have to "sing" to tell a story.
-
Electronica is not my genre, and I was quite hesitant about commenting. Honesty first, I bailed early. Why? I was looking for a bit more "impact". Read that as wanting it to "build" more quickly. If this is a "chill" track (is that the right word?) then probably you've nailed it! I must admit I'm a 3 minute single old "rocker" so take it all with a grain of salt. Production wise, no faults I can detect, and I guess that's why I chimed in. The track is good, but it just didn't "grab" me. t

Much enjoyed treesha! t @treesha"I’m encouraged" as well you should be, I hope the response from the forum encourages more creativity!

at risk of violating the forum's TOS, our nation is in crisis. I think you've captured it masterfully. t

?'s. big big ?'s Left my comments over at youtube. t i was tempted to "shame" the community for their lack of support over at youtube, but it doesn't seem to be sinking in, so i will just "fume" over it internally; or not.......................................................................................................................................................

One of the rare times I've disagreed with Tom. I hear it more as an "effect" than a snare, works for me; reasonable people can disagree. ?'s t

"For the Masses" - World Funk Synth House (edited)
DeeringAmps replied to PhonoBrainer's topic in Songs
YES, Bloody Brilliant Tom, Bloody Brilliant. t I'm the only one who has "liked" and "commented"? This is a tough room man, a very tough room... one little suggestion; if I was co-producing I would add a little hesitation after each "stop", so it doesn't come back exactly on the beat. A "pregnant" pause if you get my meaning... -

One of your best I think John, sorry it took me so long to find it.... a very enthusiastic ?'s up from me to be sure! t

?'s! Your versatility amazes me man. t

I'm a fan, what more can I say but ?'s up baby. t didn't recognize One Step Closer, I've been pretty busy lately; maybe I missed it? Just a note; Doug's writing, performing and production are what I would call "mature". I'm sure he appreciates all our constructive criticism, but I'm just as sure he's "happy" with a track before he posts. Just sayin', and please don't think I'm suggesting we should not give Doug are honest opinions...

Watched/listened awhile back over at YouTube. "Liked", "Commented", "Shared"; all the things that get a vid moved up on the playlist... As always, love your work Nigel, big fan! t damn, I did it again; think my "shaming" the community will help? why am I asking you?

Real world M.2 NVMe v SCSI SSD preformance

I’ve mentioned in the past that Superior Drummer appears to load intuitively now that my samples are on the m.2 t
