    Happy New Year!

Bah! Humbug! Are there no poor houses for deal forum members! Be gone! <what? really? I overslept? Rats, must have mixed up my meds again...> <ahem> Sorry - wrong holiday! Happy New Year!! <what do you mean I already missed it? Hell with it, I'm outta here.>
  3. From Abyss Kontakted web site: This may only apply to version 4.0 (they are now on v4.5) but doesn't say on web site whether they ever found a way around the issue.
  4. PITCHMAP Updated to Version 1.7.0 January 1st, 2021: We've just updated PITCHMAP to version 1.7.0. This update adds support for all standard sampling rates up to 192kHz, our current preset manager, various user interface updates, notarization for macOS Catalina and newer, and numerous smaller under-the-hood fixes and enhancements. PITCHMAP 1.7.0 is a free update, and recommended for all users. The update is available now from the PITCHMAP downloads page. https://www.zynaptiq.com/pitchmap/ https://www.zynaptiq.com/pitchmap/pitchmap-downloads/
  5. You can do hacks to get your unauthorized library to show in the library section but there's no guarantee that it'll stay there or work after future Kontakt updates. I've got the Clara library that the developer modded to show in library section and for Kontakt 5.x it worked (though it always had an unactivated warning), with Kontact 6.x it shows in the Library section as needing repair and you can't run it from the library section.
  6. That's assuming that they're not talking about the graphic on the library tab. With that some companies 'get it' and have one other don't or don't bother and you get the blank. Edit: it look like NI is cracking down on lazy developers - I just check Kontakt 6 and all of the registered libraries now have banner graphics. Another story for the mini graphic in Native Access.
  7. Here's a quick & dirty walkthrough to using QuickLoad: In Quickload you can create folders & subfolders to organize your libraries. For example in my illustration above I have __Misc Libs and _Percussion to hold assorted libraries.
  8. They all use NKI, some use Snapshots as well. Edit: look at my next post, you'll see my 'Rigid Audio' folder in the Quickload left column where mine appear in QuickLoad. To use the Snapshots there's a song & dance you do once you've loaded that library (sorry don't recall the steps off the top of my head). Once you load the Snapshots I'm pretty sure you have to save the library (think Ctrl-S works) to keep them there for the next time.
  9. Quickload is cleaner, easier to navigate, & easy to maintain. It's just missing the pretty banners which when you've got a lot of libraries take up a lot of space and aren't that useful.
  10. It started with a Supreme Court ruling (June 21, 2018) - by now most states have stepped up their tax collection game and now mandate tax charged based on buyer location.
  11. Out of curiosity what version of Metaplugin were you using? No changes on Windows. 2020/10/15: v3.6.0 added correction for oversampling latency + option to select between IIR and FIR oversampling 2020/10/13: v3.5.3 fixed source for possible crash in some hosts that dynamically change audio processing precision 2020/09/25: v3.5.2 increased number of mappable parameters from 100 to 256 2020/09/11: v3.5.1 new build with JUCE 6, added support for bridged plugins with delayed latency information + fixed VST2-no-sound issue in Ableton Live 2020/07/17: v3.5.0 fixed a crash when not selecting any plugin from the "load file" menu 2020/05/29: v3.4.9 removed extraneous creation of in- and output modules at reload 2020/05/25: v3.4.8 removed erroneous connection error string 2020/05/18: v3.4.7 fixed a crash on right-clicking the UI without selecting a plugin afterwards 2020/04/29: v3.4.6 updated SendIt plugin for smoother performance 2020/04/09: v3.4.5 improved UI loading time 2020/03/26: v3.4.4 fixed possible issue in bridging leading to distorted sounds 2020/02/11: v3.4.3 added support to load unsigned plugins on Catalina; added 8x oversampling; added option to open/close all plugin windows 2020/01/14: v3.4.2 Corrected bug where latency compensation didn't work when in oversample mode Like I mentioned earlier I haven't gotten around to really using it yet so I'm interested in your experience/perspective.
  12. https://ddmf.eu/plugindoctor/ Change log: 2020/12/21: v1.5.6 changed internal order of plugin calls to improve compatibility with some plugins 2020/12/17: v1.5.5 fixed inconsistencies with latency-generating plugins in Dynamics attack and release tab; increased mouse wheel sensitivity for x and y axis shifting and scaling 2020/12/16: v1.5.4 fixed a bug that could cause hangs or crashes when switching tabs while using external hardware 2020/11/24: v1.5.3 fixed issue with non-integer steps in Dynamics tab 2020/11/12: v1.5.2 Fundamental and THD display were switched in sweep mode in Harmonic Analysis tab, plus sweep mode did not work for 2nd plugin 2020/11/06: v1.5.1 due to small change in previous version, Linear Analysis window showed no signal after re-opening with a loaded plugin. Also: Harmonic section in IMD mode still showed THD for second plugin (if loaded). Plus: fixed race conditions on button clicks.
  13. I bought a Kushview Element perpetual license early on & was promised a lifetime license of free updates for early backing. When Element didn’t make enough profit the developer abandoned the project & converted it to open source - which is better than a swift kick in the nuts, but not by a lot. One of the biggest issues I ran into was a buffer problem where you’d get distortion when using heavy CPU plugins like 2Caudio’s Kaleidoscope. As far as I know this issue was never fixed though I haven’t bothered checking the project in months. Overall I found Element interesting, fun to play with but of limited use - YMMV so try it yourself. I bought Metaplugin because it looked like it could do what I want, and is still being actively supported by a seasoned developer.
  14. I bought DDMF's Metaplugin https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst-au-rtas-aax-wrapper/ so that I could create plugin chains to use across multiple DAWs but with the other holiday toys I've picked up I still haven't gotten around to using it. Let me know how Gig Performer works out for you.
  15. $39.03 with code even if you are not a registered user
  16. I've only been able to use is once back on Saturday, keep getting: A voucher code associated with this promotion has already been used. Only one redemption per account is allowed.
  17. Debating on getting PSP Nexcellence Spring Reverb Plugin... I regretted not picking it up last sale. Edit: bought it!
  18. Heads up on iZotope plugins if you're considering engaging the iLok option... Don't, unless you're going to be using it on multiple machines (as with studios or clients) that already have the iLok licensing authorized/activated for the individual plugins. Here in lies my cautionary tale... Been using iZotope for ages and after going through several different suite upgrades now have over 100 of their plugin haunting my system. Planning on getting a new computer I thought that going the iLok route would make my iZotope migration fairly painless - as using their Product Portal takes most of the pain out of the installation and it's the authorization process that the real pain (having to click past multiple screens for each individual plugin). But... I was wrong. Even with iLok you still** have to manually authorize each plugin and if you engage the iLok option on an existing system using iZotope plugins you'll have to reauthorize each iZotope plugin again. I've contacted iZotope support and they've said basically (to paraphase) "Yup, that's the way it works." **iZotope's implementation is different than other vendors as in addition to authorizing on the iLok you still have to authorize each plugin on each machine you will be using them on. As shown in the image below from the iZotope Product Portal - the plugin is authorized to iLok but still requires computer authorization and when you fire one up... (yes image shows Nectar 2, same thing happens with Nectar 3 and the rest of my iZotopes. I just didn't feel like going through the process of grabbing another screen shot). BTW all my other iLok plugs are working fine. So now I'm looking at spending an unknown extended amount of time individually authorizing all my current iZtope plugins via the Product Portal and the olders one using SaviHost or something similar. If I was smart I would have just converted one plugin to iLok and tested it out first but I didn't, like most people I've got multiple things competing for my time & attention and I just wanted get it done so that I could move on to the next thing; unfortunately I didn't imagine that iZotope would do iLok differently than everyone else does. Peace out. ...Steven
  19. Yet it works, just ordered & downloaded it. Note: the working download link is in the email you'll receive "Your Bamboo Xaxophone Download Information" not in the link that's shown after checkout.
  20. Here's a video about Evade Nice price, has some nice features. If you're really into gating plugins of this type be sure to keep an eye on https://www.waproduction.com/plugins/view/dodge-pro which is probably one of the most versatile of the bunch. It normally sells around $29 but can be caught at a nice discount when on sale.
  21. I haven't played with my Sonic Charge plugins in a while and got inspired by the Holiday patch freebie mentioned in the OP. Was trolling around their forum and found I missed an update posted in Oct 2020 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi folks! For your information: We have just released minor service updates to all our plugins. No new features. Only a few bug-fixes, cosmetic changes and updated user guides. Here is the short list of bugs that have been squashed: All plugins on Windows : Made a workaround to handle a rare Windows problem with generating a unique machine-id. Echobode : Fixed a bug where, under some extremely rare circumstances, the big knob would not draw correctly, and an error message was generated. Microtonic : Fixed an issue that could cause the host user-interface to become sluggish when running many instances of Microtonic (even with closed plug-in windows). Permut8 : Fixed a bug that prevented the zoom feature from working correctly in some hosts (e.g., Cakewalk). To update just download and run our installer as usual. If you have already registered you should not need to run Authenticator again. Take care, stay safe and make lots of music! / Magnus ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ and missed an apparently huge update back in March 2020 https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/1568 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Magnus Lidström 31 Mar15:49 I hope you are all doing well in these difficult times. We are doing fine here. Working from home is not much of a change for us, of course. Fredrik and I have been working remotely together for over 20 years. But these are undoubtedly tough times for us all. Luckily there is nothing safer than staying indoors and making music on a computer, or developing music software for that matter. So we will continue doing just that. As always. We are pleased to announce that updates to our entire line of products are available today. With these updates we have taken the opportunity to refactor and clean out obsolete technologies in order to move forwards into the 2020's. Some of our products have not been updated in over five years, so there has been a lot to work on. While most changes in these updates are under the hood there are some very visible additions too. First and foremost, all plugins (except Synplant) now features high resolution graphics and re-scalable user interfaces. (Synplant has however been updated with other bug and compatibility fixes.) Second, Microtonic can now be extended with scripts written in Javascript and these scripts can display custom user interface elements. A separate installer with a selection of clever scripts is available on our download page for registered customers. Here is a little demo: For a detailed list of other fixes and changes please refer to the individual product user guides. The most important compatibility fix is that our plugins are now compatible with Mac hosts that are built with the latest SDK from Apple. (This includes Cubase 10.5 and Garageband.) We have also updated the official Permut8 Firmware Installer with the previously released Specular firmware as well as two brand new firmwares: Vortex and JS80RMX. Vortex is a generative synth (based on the "about box easter egg" in Microtonic) and JS80RMX lets you import songs from the JS80TRX chiptune tracker and transform them beyond recognition. Have a listen
  22. Just received email: ******************************* Dear Microtonic owner, We hope you are all well in these challenging times. In the spirit of the season, we have a gift for you. We call it Vintage Tonic and it is a collection of Microtonic patches that recreates the sounds of ten famous vintage drum machines. To make them sound as close to the originals as possible, we took help from a new machine-learning algorithm that we have been working on. We are sure that you will be surprised by some of the results. Go to https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/1779-vintage-tonic to have a listen and to download our gift to you. Best wishes, Magnus & Fredrik Lidström
  23. Merry Christmas from California to all my fellow plugin addicts! It's been a bummer of year but I'm hoping that everyone has a Merry Christmas (or had a Happy Chanukah)! Best regards ...Steven
  24. I'd love to pick up the Spaghetti Western but $219 is too steep for my budget. Was hoping it would be 50% off for XMAS...
