  1. Thanks Scook and everyone it had not occurred to me to check under VST3 label for Preset options, learned something new.
  2. Yes, in Cakewalk I tried many different PA VST3s and all the ones I tried had the same issue. Haven't had time to check other DAWs.
  3. On another Plugin Alliance subject altogether - the presets don't work on any of the VST3 versions, the presets on VST2 versions work fine. Edit: updated images for clarity. Note that correct way to access VST3 presets in my follow up post lower↓
  4. Just make sure that you don't miss the opportunity to get if for free with coupon just because you're waffling over whether you should install it.
  5. BTW if you're plugin heavy - you probably already a have transient shaper or 3... Most can both accent attack and/or cut down on ambience. The SPL plugins have broken this transient shaper ability down in to 2 separate plugins so that you can pay for each function separately.
  6. Demo it, only way to really tell how well it'll work on your particular tracks. SPL De-Verb Plus is a tweaked transient shaper and it really only works on solo instrument track ie won't de-verb a guitar in a mix. There are plugins (for example from Zynaptiq) that can take de-verbing to a level beyond what transient shapers can deliver but they aren't cheap.
  7. It's not bad but it's not hitting that wow threshold for me. What's (if you don't mind me asking) is your signal chain setup?
  8. Yah, I too have bought a couple of Grrr's This forum is electronic crack...? No matter my resolve it keeps cracking open my wallet.
  9. Of these kind of apps probably the simplest to use. Worth checking out.
  10. Your clock is busted - April 1st is over 7 hours away! (It's your fault that you don't live in California)
  11. The only issue I've found so far is that the built in virtual MIDI keyboard kind of sucks but I'm just barely getting started using it.
  12. Ditto, bought it a couple of weeks ago last time it was on sale (think I paid the same). Is the PA version the same as the original creator or has it been improved by the addition of PA license technology?
  13. I guess irony is in the eye of the beholder - IMHO it's a matter of time vs money vs effort vs what technique(s) works best for you. To transcribe you need to have have tools at hand (source capable of playing/replaying material to be transcribed, instrument at hand, something to transcribe on or to, etc.) and enough uninterrupted time to properly utilize them. Transcribing is a great way to learn and tune your ears but not necessarily the most bang for the effort and the least portable. And you still need learn theory and utilized other techniques to train your ears. Of course YMMV.
  14. +1 but that's kind of hard to do while you're waiting for a traffic light or your zoom meeting to start - the Tenuto phone app is great for using those moments that would otherwise go to waste for tweaking your ears.
  15. Bold ones are ‘done’ others don’t exist yet. So there has been some progress since last time I checked. - I bought in during the end of year sale (same price or close) which was still going at least into Feb. I'll have to dial in later and check things out again. At the point in time I last checked (late Jan/early Feb) there were 0 interactive training modules. Edit: 0 is a little harsh, he does have numerous training videos and practice drills (identify the interval, triad, etc.) He does have his over/under exercise which appears to be an excellent one that I need to be doing. I really need to get further into his program before I can give it a realistic critique. If you're a bit rusty on this stuff Rick's course will probably frustrate the crap out of you (or maybe it will incentivize you...) - it did both for me. I'm not giving up but I'm using another app to resharpen my ears before I go back and give it another wack.
  16. The Tenuto app goes for under $5 and is a great ear training, theory & scale trainer. The also have a web site: https://www.musictheory.net/products/tenuto Free exercises: https://www.musictheory.net/exercises
  17. > I have great respect for Rick but... Did he actually finish the course yet? When I checked a month or so ago nearly half the course was as of yet not created.
  18. Winkey plus period does the same thing. ?? Handy thing when emailing or using various chat systems at work. Which begs the question why does any company need to support multiple chat platforms for internal communications (ms teams, yammer, something else I can remember the name of and Skype which they've just removed)?
  19. They use to... looks like Line6 removed the PM function on their website forum...
  20. Looks like there are a couple of Line 6 Helix Native licenses being resold for $150 on the Line 6 forum... https://line6.com/support/topic/45810-anybody-have-a-helix-native-license-for-sale/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-376812 You may have to sign up to access forum. Note that a Helix Native license becomes NFR on transfer, so if you one buy it's your's forever.
  21. Any MIDI arrangements playing non-western arrangements? For example something in 6/8 time? I listened to the demo and to me it all sounds like western musicians playing non-western instruments theatrically... Not faulting the quality of the recordings, etc..
  22. Great news (and a relief!) as I bought the BM Tribute Library as a XMas present to myself a couple of months ago after years of waffling about it. Bravo Spectrasonics!!
  23. +1 When I was freelancing as a web designer/programmer I could justify the cost an Adobe subscription. Now I can't and so I don't have access to the Dreamviewer, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.. Granted some of my files can be opened in other apps with various losses in detail - but if I can avoid doing so I will never go for another subscription where I don't end up owning the software.
  24. For whatever reason they rarely, if ever, announce updates. I was checking their website checking on something else when I noticed that they had released the updates.
  25. Nice announcement but 1.206 is the latest available on the web site...
