Well, the developers obviously found an issue. These developers have the source code for the drivers and are privy to details about the driver in ways the end user could not even imagine. When the developers release a new driver, its usually due to a very good reason - even if those reasons are invisible to the end user. This is why I like to have the latest drivers - even if I'm not having any visible issues.

What happens if you transpose the audio clip using Process | Transpose - leaving the "Transpose Audio" checked?

It is %APPDATA%\bandlab-assistant\Downloads, However, once Cakewalk by Bandlab has been installed correctly, the installer deletes itself. What I do is copy installer file to an alternative location during the installation. That way I have a back up. Note: In Bandlab Assistant 5.06, this location is defined in settings under "System Folder"

I believe what is going on here comes down to what happens when the system encounters a bad part of the disk during data retrieval. When a disk is (sort of) faulty, the read might fail on the first attempt, so it retries multiple times until it succeeds. If gives it a damn good number of attempts. Of course, sometimes it just gives up, says stuff it, and throws up a disk error message. This is why your copy is very slow and why your audio from this drive glitches. You can imagine what happens when your system is streaming a file from a faulty disk - it will glitch when it gets to that part of the disk that is faulty as it tries to do the stream. I am pretty sure that even the fail retry and eventually succeed cycle will result in an event being recorded in the System Event Logs as a bad block. This is why it's always good to look in there if you suspect a disk issue. So no, you probably do not need a new cable. (unless replacing the disk gives you the same issue)

Focusrite 2i2 2nd gen here using version 4.63.24 No issues here. I make sure I have my sample rate set the same everywhere for all devices (even in Windows Control Panel)

How to record DJ controller with Sonar? Ever do it?
Promidi replied to bobernaut's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If the DJ controller generates a signal, then it can be recorded by Sonar - assuming you have the audio interface configured to do so. It's more a function of what your audio interface can use as signal at its input. It would not even care what DAW you use - as long as it can process whatever your audio interface card is receiving. In my case, what I do is I feed the AUX 1 and 2 out signal of my Soundcraft EMP12 mixer into the line in of a Focusrite 2i2. This let's me record directly into a Cakewalk by Bandlab audio track. It's not really that involved. Just be careful to get your levels right without any clipping. -
It's a portable application so clicking on the EXE is ok (DiskInfo.exe or DiskInfo64.exe) I would not deem Yellow: Caution as healthy. You may be able to back up your data from the E: drive, reformat and map out the bad blocks and then restore the data. However, there is no guarantee that you'll not get any further bad blocks. If this was my disk, I would be looking at a replacement now. Once the new disk arrives, back up your data from the E: drive if you haven't already, replace the drive and then restore the data. Remember, it may still be under warranty. If it is under warranty, then you can use the results from Seatools as evidence. If it's not under warrantry then consider a WD Black if spindle or even a Samsung Evo 860 SSD. What ever you do, that E: drive is cactus and is on its way out. Now would be a good time to back that data up.

Just tried it here with Truepianos (Full version) and that particular note works fine here. Before using the B word, have you thoroughly checked to make sure there isn't something else going on here - like the key is mapped to something. Does this happen regardless of VSTI?

My Sonar Platinum projects have all opened in Cakewalk by Bandlab seemlessly The "online tool" you mention is not the same as Cakewalk by Bandlab. Cakewalk by Bandlab is installed via Bandlab Assistant with can be downloaded from here: https://www.bandlab.com/download/assistant/windows Remember, when you create your Bandlab account, use the same email address that you used for your Sonar account. Do not uninstall Sonar Platinum if you plan to use all the goodies that came with Sonar Platinum (or just to test things).

Further more, if you have a multitimbral VSTi (like Sampletank, UVI workstation, Kontact, etc) then you one need one instance of the VSTi for multiple sounds.

Import midi with another synthesizer
Promidi replied to Andrés Campos Aguilar's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Did you open the inspector for the MIDI track (Select the MIDI track and press i ) Then look down the bottom of the inspector for "In/Out". Just above the track name is where that MIDI track is being routed. If you have loaded soft synths, the loaded soft synths will be listed there. MIDI ports will also be listed. -

Is the synth or VSTi physically modelled or does it use samples. Also, does the VSTi actually repond to program change events. If the VSTi is physically modelled and it responds to program changes (like Applied Acoustic Systems VSTis for eg), then the patch changes are responded to pretty much instantly. If the VSTi uses sample and it responds to program changes, then there will be significant delay while the sample is being loaded. In that case, maybe freezing the track might be in order. Regarding the list of patches. There are some VSTs that populate this list - otherwise you have to read the manual for that VSTi to know what program change commands to send. If you're using a hardware synth and you have correctly loaded the appropriate Instrument definition file (INS), then the patch list will be populated with the correct patches for that hardware synth. This is assuming the INS file contains the names. Bottom line is that it depends entirely on the VSTi or synth.

What happens if you reinstall the updates, yet uninstall (or disable) Realtek network adapter driver afterwards? Note: I have an onboard Intel gigabit wired network adapter enabled at all times (including when CbB is being used) and I do not have any glitches I do not have any form of wireless adapter on my PC. Is your network wireless or via cat5e?

It's not a hidden file. It's just the extension that's hidden. Select AUD ( which is actually AUD.INI ) file and hit F2. Then rename it to something like AUD_Back Obviously do this with Cakewalk closed. Ideally you would want to change folder settings so that extensions are not hidden. This is done in Control Panel | File Explorer options, "View" tab, then deselect "Hide Extensions for known file types"

My SI instruments are definitely 64bit Did you install them using Bandlab Assistant? (assuming you are using Cakewalk by Bandlab)

There is a more recent Nvidia driver (dated 1 Oct 2019) than what you have that is compatible with the GT635. Still update it, even though I don't think this will stop the pops and crackles. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/152007/en-us Do you have onboard audio that also may need to be disabled? Have you disabled core parking on your CPU? Turned off speedstep? (Intel sometimes calls this EIST) . In Advanced power settings set CPU min and max, both to 100% Go start run and "control powercfg.cpl,,1" (copy and paste without the quotes) to quickly get to these settings. In fact, disable any and all power saving options you can find.
-
Are you using version 436.48 of the Nvidia drivers? (assuming a GTX600 or above card). And did you disable the audio component of that card in Device Manager? One other setting you might want to change is set Power Management mode to "Prefer Maximum performance". This is in the NVidia Control Panel, Manage 3D settings.

Import midi with another synthesizer
Promidi replied to Andrés Campos Aguilar's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yes. If you check the MIDI track settings (using the inspector or console view), you will see where that MIDI track's output is directed to. Currently it should be set to the TTS-1. All you have to do is click on the MIDI output drop-down and select the TX16Wx (assuming you have installed the soft synth) . If the TX16Wx is a hardware synth, simply select the MIDI port on which the TX16Wx is physically connected to. -
Have you gone to Preferences | File | VST Settings and done a Reset and Scan (in that order)

New laptop, new install - MASSIVE lag in mouse/screen GUI response
Promidi replied to Jason Halogen's question in Q&A
Did you do the following? Decrapify it (i.e. remove all the pre-installed software) Install all updates for Windows 10 and vdist runtimes (These are not included with Windows Updates) Update all hardware drivers (Manually visit Manufacturers websites rather that rely on auto updates) - graphics, Audio I/F, network, etc Optimise according to various DAW optimisation guides around the place. Core parking off (CPU Min and Max at 100%) All power saving you can find off (in AC mode) USB power saving off If Nvida, set power saving to "Prefer Max performance" (In 3D settings) Others may have more things to try.- 12 replies

Clicking on the Buy Now link takes you to the "Cakewalk Announcement" mentioning that they "we ceased new product development and reduced overall operations this past Friday" Past Friday meaning back in late 2017. I guarantee you cannot purchase Sonar Professional. Can you tell up about your MIDI set up. When you press keys on the korg , do you see any MIDI activity on the MIDI track? Have you double checked your MIDI channels in the MIDI routing?
