  1. If I seem like my patience has been run down in some replies, that's because we've offered plenty of opportunities for people to voice opinions about subscription since Sonar was initially announced a year ago. There was a 20ish page thread where we let people speak their minds right out of the gate. There have been innumerable threads and comments since. I'm just on here doing my best to support the community, and when I'm constantly having to respond to people retreading the same things over and over, and frequently being indignant about it towards the dev team... I was not trying to make any comment about you personally in my initial reply there. My only goal here is to try and make this forum a constructive place for the people who want to learn about the application, or who need help. I get PMs from other members asking us to put a lid on a lot of the subscription threads because it makes the forum feel like a hostile place. Ashwin graciously posted a place where people direct their opinions in a way where people outside of the Cakewalk team can keep track of. Those of us involved with development will continue to try and deliver the best possible experience with the app that we can, and we do our best to support our users.
  2. What is your display configuration? Resolution, display scaling, multiple monitors, etc.
  3. The current version of Cakewalk Product Center does not have an option to download the new version of Sonar. It is available to download here. Your issue with Next sounds like there might be issues with your audio driver. You would need to provide more details on your device and configuration to be adequately troubleshoot that. There's also the new Next section of this forum where you can discuss Next-specific topics. You can always contact Support too for additional help troubleshooting.
  4. Likely not necessary for the case of the OP, but we've got clean install instructions in our knowledge base. This version of the instructions is specific to CbB, but the same rules apply for Sonar if you wanted to do the full clean install: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab
  5. Resizing the window will show the missing buttons, we're looking into a better way to handle displaying those buttons to accommodate narrower plugins. The PRV scroll issue is logged and in the fix queue for when we can get to it. Thanks!
  6. As @DeeringAmps said, the app itself isn't very large to leave in place, but the Add/Remove Programs in Windows launches our uninstaller. This leaves user personalized settings intact if you want to reinstall later (as it has for all previous SONAR or Cakewalk by BandLab installers). You'd just want to say no if prompted to remove shared files during the uninstall process.
  7. It's the features through the forthcoming update, which as Noel said will be very soon.
  8. Apologies Alexey, but TH-U Cakewalk has not been released yet. It will be in the forthcoming Sonar update. Please note that TH-U Cakewalk is locked to Sonar and Next and will not load in other hosts (including Cakewalk by BandLab). It won't impact anyone with a full license from Overloud. Thanks!
  9. Save and export are disabled when the app isn't authorized.
  10. This. This topic has been beaten to death. We're aware some people do not like subscriptions. Having someone stand on a soapbox and then complain when we try and move on gets old real fast and changes nothing. We've given people plenty of opportunity to discuss it over the past year. It starts getting disrespectful, which in turn becomes a violation of terms on this forum.
  11. This had been resolved with the latest update from this week. The app requires to reauthorize periodically, but the notification message has been removed, so it will do it silently when it has Internet access.
  12. We'll likely figure something out for that at some point, but our priorities on the Cakewalk team itself are focused on development. As I'm sure you're familiar, doing that kind of content can be a sizable task. Also bear in mind it's a holiday weekend here in the US, and while some of us are checking in periodically, you might not get an immediate answer from Staff about everything.
  13. Yes, this update just fixed an issue where the checkbox to create an instrument track per output was not available in the Add Track flyout. It won't impact your existing project's routing.
  14. It means we fixed an issue that was working previously, but had broken in the previous release. It should be working properly in this update.
  15. If we/I had a concrete answer, we'd say it. I'm just offering the best assurance I can give you that CbB is not going to up and vanish. We wouldn't have dropped yesterday's update if it was going anywhere anytime soon. Beyond that I can't really conjecture a timeline about anything. Things are always subject to change, so its not possible for us to guarantee anything like that. We can provide broad strokes given our current planning, and that's what I'm trying to do here.
  16. There's no formal timeline for any changes to CbB. We just released a maintenance update yesterday. There are no plans for CbB to go anywhere anytime soon. If anything changes, there will be a formal announcement well ahead of time.
  17. All you need to do to save a custom image for a project/template is to go the Notes tab in the Browser, and click the menu to Load Image.
  18. Exactly this. Sonar installs as a new application alongside Cakewalk by BandLab. Same as Cakewalk by BandLab installs alongside SONAR Platinum and all other previous versions. You can try the new version without a subscription by simply downloading it at https://www.cakewalk.com/sonar. Demo mode just prevents saving/exporting.
  19. Cakewalk by BandLab will still require the periodic reauthorization. The in-your-face prompt about it was an unintended side effect of changing some stuff on the back end.
  20. There was a temporary hang up with updating the forum software. All resolved now.
  21. Look to see if dumps have been automatically created in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar\MiniDumps Aside from that:
  22. The thread was deleted because it started off with an attack against staff. I did not delete the thread, but that kind of conduct is unacceptable, and a violation of terms for this forum. I am going to lock this thread though. You're entitled to your opinions, but also remember this is a Cakewalk owned forum. Our goal here is to support people and provide discourse in a positive manor. We've given plenty of space for people to make criticisms, but a lot of threads just devolve into repetitions of the same complaints that aren't in any way constructive. Hostile posts make this forum discouraging for those folks who do want get more insight about actually using the app and making music. Thanks.
