  1. Yeah, legacy products (at the time) were not added to the Command Center infrastructure. Anything else that was available as a download should still be there on your account page though. IIRC it was X1 that had the first option to download the app at all. Going beyond that requires having the physical media.
  2. Clip groups. The easiest way is to enable multitrack grouping in the Record tab of the Preferences as you start your session, but you can manually right-click and group all the clips you want to edit together as well.
  3. @mattplaysguitar So long as you make sure you used the updated version of Command Center, you'll be able to download and install any of your previously "connected" Cakewalk products. There was a basic version of Guitar Rig 4 that was included with SONAR X1
  4. Make sure you have the updated version of Command Center, the old versions won't connect anymore due to a back end change. Beyond that, as mentioned, the support folks will get you squared away.
  5. You can find support here: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us As for your install state, you might need to try doing a full clean install of the app: https://legacy.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013392/SONAR-2015-Clean-Install-Instructions
  6. Sonar is simply the next version the same way SONAR Platinum superceded X3. This thread ran its course in June, so I'm putting a lid on it. Thanks!
  7. So long as you have a valid BandLab Membership, you can either sign in through the app or use Cakewalk Product Center to do offline activation using files generated as Glenn has shown above.
  8. There shouldn't be any issues with installing SONAR Platinum and its content. If you're getting an error, please provide some specifics. Just be sure to use the updated version of Command Center.
  9. Any real noticeable latency you'd experience would be via your audio driver rather than the MIDI signal. Either way of inputting MIDI is equally valid, it just boils down to what the most convenient method for you to connect is. Just make sure you're using an appropriate audio card with ASIO drivers for low latency.
  10. Is there an example you can provide? Most plugins should display correctly if they support resizing in the UI. The gray space should only be visible if you're enlarging the window on a plugin that does not dynamically resize (like the one in your original post). Also, there should be no display issues with plugin resize in Cakewalk by BandLab. There are a couple plugins that have issues with dynamically scaling with scaling in Sonar, however, this is not present in CbB.
  11. By default (in most templates) the metronome is routed through a bus. You can automate the output level on that bus to fade or anything else you need.
  12. Driver Mode is on the Playback and Recording tab. Depending on what was connected when you first launched Sonar, it'll dictate what driver mode the app defaults to. Looks like you're in WASAPI Shared mode, just flip it to ASIO, and click Apply in the Preferences, then your ASIO drivers will appear in the device list.
  13. The Sonar MacOS prototype was fully functional, there were just other limitations that made going that route not particularly viable. Note that Next works for MacOS not iOS.
  14. Yeah, its clearly some kind of write access issue, 12 years is definitely a good run on a disk. I've seen a lot of weird things happen when they start to go. Also a great time to back up your projects if you have not already done so.
  15. Groove clip looping uses different stretching from a drag stretch. As mentioned, bouncing first will render that stretching, and let you turn on groove clip looping. Otherwise you could duplicate the clip too as opposed to doing a groove clip.
  16. There's plenty of small usb bus powered interfaces that would let you do that. Plus as mentioned before, its *doable* with onboard audio, but you're not going to get low latency or particularly great DAC.
  17. Right now Sonar is only available via BandLab Membership. Cakewalk by BandLab supports VST3 though as well though. There may be additional licensing options for Sonar in the future, but there's no details as to if/when anything might change there.
  18. The overwhelming majority of onboard audio isn't particularly designed for performance. If you run the driver with high enough latency, you'd be able to play things fine, but really you'd want some kind of interface to get the most out of CbB
  19. I'd leave your SONAR Platinum install in place as it's got the additional third party plugin bundles that are still very useful. The apps themselves really aren't significantly large on the disk, but if you wanted to remove things, just do that before installing the newer versions. We did update C3 a little while back to coincide with a back end change, that'll still install the Platinum era products as before.
  20. @Grem You're a brave man going all in with an unfinished body! Finish is fiddly work, good luck!
  21. You should have no problem opening the projects from SONAR 7 in either the new version of Sonar or Cakewalk by BandLab. The only "gotchas" would be with any plugins with 32-bit on XP, but all the audio and project data will load fine.
  22. @Jim Stamper If you check the site, it lists Sonar as "Available Now Via BandLab Membership". We're perpetually working on more and more improvements, but Sonar is going strong as is. You can always download it and try for yourself. Demo mode just prevents save/export.
  23. You can also do it with AudioSnap by editing the Clip Map and using set project from clip.
