JMO: Depicting the reality, even if sad, is never a bad idea. And I did not do it to forward a bargain tip from a competitor...
I agree with the opinion of @User 905133, as well intended as informing us of Larry's well being may be, spotting a forum member elsewhere and re-posting their posts here could be subject to misunderstanding. He would have posted here himself if he was so inclined.
I'm sure it would suffice to say that he appears to be alive and well, and posting at KVR.

KORG has released updates for M1 & Wavestation with a fix for Cakewalk by BandLab. Might address the issue discussed above.
-
M1: Version 2.3.3
[PC] After updating to version 2.3.2, Cakewalk by BandLab would not open the project properly and initialize the synthesizer. This has been fixed.
Wavestation: Version 2.3.2
[PC] After updating to version 2.3.1, Cakewalk by BandLab would not open the project properly and initialize the synthesizer. This has been fixed.

Well, GitHub is a platform for distributing source code, not ready-to-use applications, so the binaries are a secondary resource in a way. If a project has binary releases available, that's just by courtesy of the developers.
In any case, on GitHub the binaries are always made available on the Releases page, so that's where you'll find them if there are any.
@Starship KrupaThat's why some developers even charge for platform specific binaries.
Although the source code may be open source and free, it takes a certain level of time and expertise to compile it for Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. The dev can charge for the binary to cover their time, distribution expenses, and/or any support.
That's a case by case scenario. But nothing requires them to supply pre-compiled binaries. If they do, then bless their hearts, especially if they are not getting paid for their work.
Best solution is to acquire and learn the tools for compiling source code on the platform of choice. Problem solved!

Do they accept submissions?
Posting comments about songs is probably the most direct way to interact. https://radioparadise.com/info/faq
How do I submit music or suggest artists to RP?
"We don't accept submissions via mail or email. The review process can take a while. Please be patient, and keep in mind that we only accept a very small percentage of the music that is submitted or suggested to us. If your suggestion (or your own recording) is rejected, please don't take it personally. Our judgements are entirely subjective and arbitrary. They represent our opinion only." https://legacy.radioparadise.com/#n=Submissionshttps://radioparadise.com/info/about
"We also depend on input from you to help fine-tune our music mix. If you hear something that you feel strongly about (either positively or negatively), please take a moment to rate and/or post a comment on that song. Just click the song title anywhere on our site or the heart icon on the web player."

Tangerine Dream performing live in concert in 2007 with computers & soft synths (Absynth, Atmosphere, FM7, & editor/librarian for Creamware Minimax ) . I wonder if they had a plan B?
Sounds great, no dropouts!!!

Radio Paradise is Old Fashioned Radio for the 21st Century
"Each hour of music is carefully blended together to flow smoothly between different musical styles & genres — just like real DJs used to do on FM. We don't use the computer-generated playlists or "carefully researched music libraries" that have sucked the soul out of FM radio — and we never just throw songs together at random the way many web stations do."

Do any of these internet radio stream URL links work with Winamp?

Even with the "vintage" look and functionality, this appeals to the sound sculptor in me.

Check out the soft synths that Tangerine Dream was using live on stage in this 2007 show.
One of them is FM7. There are also a few other synths that you may recognize on the large monitors.

So what does it mean when 2 companies (NI & Tracktion) are nearly giving away their flagship FM synths? ?

I checked in my Amplitube 5 and I already had the Nu-Tron III installed.
Must have either picked it up with the group buy last year... or already had it in AmplTube 4 MAX.

And you get Things Texture
Izzit any good? I saw that it was free for BPB readers last year, so some may already have it. I got the AudioThing Orb, but not Texture.

Most of the folks PreSonus needs to win over have no experience with any of that stuff. Their entry point is often software like GarageBand (my kids used that at their elementary school). That is their understanding of recording gear, whereas people here often had gear like ADAT, a used my older brother's multitrack reel-to-reel recorder and bought a Fostex 4 track cassette recorder.
I have a friend that's a singer-songwriter guitarist, and is from the Gen-X era. I tried to introduce him to computers and DAWs, but he's just not a computer person, and I respect that. He found his way with a standalone digital hard disk recorder, and was even able to record and mix a CD using that. Respect!
So I am sure that there is room for a software medium for artists to lay down and mix quality tracks, that do not require an entire recording studio worth of technology, or the DAW equivalent of such.

So, the big challenge is getting those folks in the pipeline. It's not a threat to us experienced DAW users. In fact, if PreSonus doesn't succeed on winning over these entry level users, they're a lot more likely to bail on DAW software.
That could be the bottom line.

Surge is one of the most powerful synths free or paid. Just not a fan of interface.
I agree about Surge, but I just cannot get past the interface. No joy there, IMO.
Vital is a different animal. After I played around with the free version for a few hours, I upgraded to Vital Pro! Matt Tytel needs to be encouraged to keep developing this synth! I also have Pigments and Phase Plant, but there is something really unique and engaging about Vital!

MP3 will also remain the standard for as long as people continue to get away with charging big premiums for lossless formats.
