  1. Consider this... Microsoft owns GitHub, the mecca for open source projects.
  2. Biotek 2 is a deep synth. Not an all-in-one, go to synth by any means. But it is unique and powerful, and an interesting additional piece of kit. You can add layers and modulations, add samples etc., until your PC implodes. It's strengths are probably best put to use for evolving, moving soundscapes, using ambient, cinematic, environmental sounds mixed with traditional VA waveforms. Probably not so much for mainstream music such as Hip Hop, EDM, or Pop, but no telling what some creative types might find uses for.
  3. I already have what I want. The short list of missing items are things I could care less about, so not even for $29 would I be tempted... much less for $299, LOL! ?
  4. @msmcleodany particular reason that Cakewalk would have these plugins hidden? It seems odd that they are not on the official list. ?
  5. Dimension Pro is a separate installer from Sonar in Command Center. Look for an entry named "D-Pro".
  6. PX 64 Percussion was part of the old Sonar, beginning with Sonar 8.5, and is unavailable for purchase. Here are the plugins included with Cakewalk by BandLab: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Plug-ins.2.html
  7. Already have Biotek 2. Maybe they need to give me Hyperion? ?
  8. I used to have a co-worker that would regularly skip a step, and then ask "what's my problem?" To which I learned to reply with, "you skipped a step!"
  9. WELCOME Welcome to the KOMPLETE START Quick Start Guide. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-start/learn-komplete-start/ SET-UP CHECKLIST Before you begin, you must install the KOMPLETE START products from Native Access, then set-up your keyboard and software. You will not see KOMPLETE START listed in Native Access. Some products are found as individual instruments, others are part of the Reaktor 6 or Kontakt 6 Factory Selections, and some appear as presets in KOMPLETE KONTROL.
  10. 5 or 7 frets? I don't understand... E1 to C5 works here. And it appears to include 20 frets. ?
  11. Analog Lab 4 and 5 are combined into one license in Arturia Software Center. The upgrade to 5 was free and automatic. You can install both versions side-by-side, and sort out which one works best for you. Note: Arturia did change some of the macro control knob assignments in v5 to be more 'better' with the new v5 presets, so if you are expecting to find the macros as they were in v4, you may want to stick with v4 if you are dependent on legacy presets.
  12. The Komplete Start bundled instruments are Kontakt Player or Reaktor Player libraries. They also work in the Komplete Kontrol plugin. Start by locating the Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt, or Reaktor plugins in Cakewalk and insert them, and then follow the Native Instruments instructions for loading the sounds content. The NI instrument sounds cannot be loaded standalone in Cakewalk, as they are not plugins.
  13. Many sampled instruments are limited to the actual note range of the real instrument, as in the case of guitars, that would be from the lowest open string, to the highest fret. If you are expecting 88 MIDI notes in a piano roll, as in a grand piano, you might be surprised by the lesser actual note range for example, for a 4-string bass. ? And yes, scook's notes about the base octave for pitches is a very important consideration as well!
  14. The Roland Sound Canvas VA is a GS, GM2, GM VSTi & AU (64-bit). 16 parts, 64 voices. 4 types of sound maps (SC-8820, SC-88Pro, SC-88, SC-55). https://www.roland.com/us/products/rc_sound_canvas_va/ $69 to get a lifetime key. Install the free Roland Cloud Manager and locate this offer under "Software > Legendary". Internet connectivity required to activate.
  15. TS3 MAX in my cart is still $299, even with the $200 discount. And the only things I would get for that is AmpliTube 5 MAX (have AT4 MAX), the T-Racks Tape Machines, and that ARC System. Have everything else already, so that's a bit more than I'm willing to pay.
  16. Fixes the new Pigments 3.0 errors when you load any Pigments v3.0 presets. Run Arturia Software Center to update.
  17. Just upgraded my Analog Lab V to version 5.2, and the new Pigments banks work with AL V now.
  18. It's just one of those "why not?" things...
  19. I'm with you on the Steelcase Leap. Mine came with a 10 year warranty, and they sent a tech to my home to replace the gas strut and the armrests after ~9.5 years. Best investment I ever made! Still going strong, and my back has never felt better! We had a few of those Aeron chairs at the office that my team mates used to fight over, but I never really found them all that comfortable for sitting up at a desk. And the rim on the front of the seat always dug into the back of my legs. Tip: Ignore the retail prices on that Steelcase website, as they are about twice what Amazon sells them for... That Gesture does look like a fine chair, for around $1,000 at Amazon. But at this point my Leap's likely to outlive me, LOL.
  20. No need to route TTS-1 directly to your hardware. Just use 4 cakewalk audio tracks for the plugin audio outs. Then match up the TTS-1 instruments (in TTS-1) that you want to mix per the 4 outputs as illustrated in Craig Anderton's graphic in the SOS article. If 4 audio tracks will not give you enough separation for your mix, then just use a separate instance of TTS-1 for each instrument (easier). For a simple multi example send all drums to one output, bass to a second, guitar to a third, and everything else such as piano, or whatever to the fourth.
  21. Sure there is a way! https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/cakewalk-bandlab-tts-1-synth
  22. Audio interface specs? Audio buffer and sample rate used? Are you using ASIO?
