  1. TTS-1 works a lot like Kontakt in a multi-timbral context. It can receive up to 16 MIDI channels, but unlike Kontakt, has only has 1-4 audio channels for the instruments on MIDI ch 1-16 to play back to the DAW mixer with. Kontakt can do 1 for 1, 16 MIDI in to 16 audio out.
  2. I think you misunderstood what I meant. I was only talking about the ability to route 4 discrete stereo audio channels from TTS-1 into Cakewalk's mixer from a single instance of TTS-1, so that you can have select TTS-1 instruments in 4 different groups routing to 4 different mixer channels. Almost like having 4 instances of TTS-1. That way you can set up insert FX or FX busses on the Cakewalk mixer side. The 4 channel audio would then get mixed as one would ordinarily do so down to the 2-channel Master bus that feeds your audio hardware. I wasn't referring to routing the 4 audio channels from TTS-1 directly to your audio hardware. Sorry I wasn't more clear in that regard.
  3. The current version of TTS-1 was written in 2004. Back when Cakewalk was owned by Roland. Before Gibson. Before BandLab... I imagine that a lot has changed in Windows OS architecture since those days. In human years that's a long time ago. But in computer or dog years, that's ancient history! All software generally needs ongoing maintenance for bug fix & compatibility reasons. Because without it you never know what random bugs might appear. I'm sure that CbB is making the TTS-1 synth available on a best effort and a "as-is" basis for compatibility with old Cakewalk projects. But surely most folks would benefit by sticking to modern plugins for their DAW when creating any new projects.
  4. When I add something like Total Studio Max or the Tape Machine collection to my cart, PayPal then appears as an option at check-out! But none of the $25 deals offer PayPal at check-out. Even if I add all 4 tape machines, for $100 cart total. I wonder if this is just a web coding screw-up, or intentional? When I bought Space Echo for $17 on Tuesday ($25 - 8 JamPoints) PayPal was fine!
  5. I just added one of the Tape Machines to my cart at IK to take a look... On the checkout window, it appears IK are only accepting credit cards now. Pay with Card > Submit Credit card payment. PayPal has been moved to the bottom, with a promo offer for a pay-in-4 deal. But no PayPal payment button! I wonder what happened. It worked just fine 2 days ago! ?
  6. Was this experience at the IK store, or another reseller?
  7. I always seem to run into trouble when I use a single instance of TTS-1, and I start assigning the multiple audio outs in TTS-1. Like say if you wanted to add TH-3 or Amplitube to a TTS-1 guitar track in Cakewalk, but wanted to separate its audio from your bass and drums in TTS-1.
  8. I find this more work in Studio One. Always wished that Presence was multi-timbral! > Easy peasy > YMMV...
  9. Jampoints work fine at IK with Paypal. At least from the US. Cannot speak for other countries/regions though...
  10. IK took Paypal from me twice yesterday.
  11. The Synthmasters always show up under "KV331 Audio" for me in CbB.
  12. £81.08/$94.51 at Tone2 for full v2 license, not an upgrade.
  13. I think it sounds realistic as far as the captured room ambiances. Each space has a different feel. And it is endorsed by the studio owner. If the impulses are accurate to the original rooms in the studio, then it allows you to play in the same "rooms" that many famous artists recorded in. Plus some major eye candy! ?
  14. Got IK Space Delay for $17 at IK with Jampoints! ?
  15. Got it for $35 at IK with 15 Jampoints!
  16. I think that the current soft modular trend is just an offshoot of the hardware Eurorack synth movement that has been popular for years. It took some time for the modular hardware to be virtualized and affordable, but it seems that soft synth VST tech has finally caught up. And it's much more studio space and budget friendly! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurorack https://www.factmag.com/2017/09/21/modular-synth-eurorack-buyers-guide/ https://www.musicradar.com/how-to/9-things-that-every-eurorack-beginner-should-know https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/eurorack-buying-guide/ https://www.sweetwater.com/c1201--Eurorack_Cases
  17. I resemble that remark, LOL! Done and done.
  18. Fair enough. I suppose that it never occurred to me that someone would want a fully modular synth for the presets alone. But if that works for someone, then why not? I like the presets that come with any synth because they can serve as a showcase to how the synth can be used and its potential. And if lucky, even a few production ready new sounds. Especially with a blank slate such as a fully modular synth. Where do I start, LOL?
  19. I chose Cherry Audio Voltage Modular Nucleus (free), and quickly upgraded to VM Core. So I'm invested in that. I do like the Cherry Audio VM workflow best. Have also added some voice modules that Cherry partnered on with Mark Barton (MRB), such as the Oberheim SEM modules (from the Eight Voice), and the ARP 2500 and 2600. Previously I had tried the Softube Modular VSTi demo, Full Bucket Modulair (free) VSTi, and VCV Rack (free-standalone). I liked Softube, but for the money, Cherry has the best pricing and features for the paid stuff! I also tried the demo of Hyperion, (awesome sounds) but that one really strains my old timers disease! ?

This one is great to have around if you ever need some weird sounds. It can also make some good sounds. YMMV.
