Did anyone notice that after 5 pages of responses to this thread that the OP never returned. LOL!

Sounds like CPU shortage, but it’s not.

@User 905133Just a sidebar comment here, but every time I see your user name, the album by Yes '90125' pops into my head, LOL. Just an association thing with numbers, I suppose. And that's not a bad memory, as I have always enjoyed Yes.

I do exactly as Promidi does, except that I have 2 folders for VST2 plugins (both in my Cakewalk VST scan path). I have been following those rules for many years, and Cakewalk ALWAYS finds my VST2 plugins. Yes, even AIR plugins (and you should always do the iLok thing first). I have noticed that some plugin installers even attempt to default the install path to "Steinberg" or some other folder that is not in my scan path. So you have to pay attention, as was mentioned, by doing a custom install whenever possible. The good news with VST3 plugins is that there is one universal Windows destination for them, and Cakewalk knows without being told to look in there for VST3 plugins. But never, ever, ever put a VST2 plugin (such as AIR) in the VST3 folder. Cakewalk is PROGRAMMED to ignore any plugins in there that do not end with '.VST3'.

Good shout out!!! ? And yes, there's nearly an unlimited supply of free patches for Synth1. Has been a very popular and versatile subtractive synth, modeled after the Nord Lead digital synth. But I've been using the 64-bit version of Synth1 for years, so 64-bit isn't really that new. And the developer has not been involved in the project for quite some time. But the biggest issue I encountered was with that humongous collection of patches and how to navigate them. But fortunately, a KVR user by the name of NeutrinoSky came along and wrote a nifty librarian for it. The librarian runs as a wrapper for Synth1, that imports, tags, and categorizes that whole mess, so you can search and audition patches without ever opening the Synth1 GUI. But if you wish, you can quickly open/close the Synth1 GUI at any time with one button click on the librarian if you want to make an edit. The Synth1 Librarian is an outstanding piece of work! The developer also started a project to make a commercial librarian for Dexed and a few other synths, but got a big setback by the Steinberg VST2 license restrictions. As a part-time developer he never had acquired a VST2 dev license (no longer available), but one would be required for him to proceed with the latest project. Thanks Steinberg! ?

Or just learn how to use EQ to roll off the high end on your tracks. That would be a good practice in general to keep unwanted frequencies out of your mix. If you are using CbB, it has a nifty Quadcurve EQ in the Pro Channel (with large fly-out view), where you can easily adjust the slope and frequency of the LP.
-
Loom II is fine here as well, running on the latest CbB 2021.04. Win 10 Pro 20H2, Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen with ASIO at 48k and 256 buffers, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 with driver v456.71
-
Bottom line, I think you should apply some EQ to the player version. It appears to be missing from this preset, at least.
-
And here is a follow-up spectrogram capture of the same preset, playing the same C2 note with the AAS Player. Not the same!
-
With VA-3 , not the player, here's the spectrogram I get if I hold a C2 note on preset VA-3 Cinematheque- Bistre. This is using iZotope Insight as an insert on the channel with VA-3. I don't hear any high frequencies, nor does the spectrogram indicate any.

Hopefully the AAS v3 plugin is all good in CbB. On a quick load and check here, the latest update seems fine. But unfortunately the AAS/Komplete Kontrol issue persists. All of the DAWs that I have tested the latest AAS v3 in have GUI issues in the KK plugin.
-
If you use it early, and then replace it before the project gets too complicated, or freeze your TTS-1 tracks, you are probably fine. But folks have reported issues when adding it to already existing projects. YMMV. Alternatives abound...

Cakewalk sound quality is professional level (i.e. the mixing engine, sample rates, file exports, etc.). But you will need to supply most of your own sound content, as Cakewalk does not include much content by default, so the quality of that is up to you. Those links that scook provided are excellent resources for free plugins!
-
I lean towards the NI issue in the UI for the Komplete Kontrol Plugin. As the KK standalone app does not exhibit this issue with AAS v3. But the KK plugin messes up the AAS v3 UI in every DAW that I tested with. But then, there is always a slight chance that AAS is not compliant with the NI version of the VST3 spec. ?

I contacted AAS support about the KK issue. They said it was on Native Instruments end to fix.

Well you know what, even though Cakewalk ported some features for P5 over into Sonar, they apparently lost some of the vital "magic sauce" in the process. P5 V2 was a product ahead of it's time, and it even appears that Bitwig Studio "borrowed" the in-line "Groove Matrix" GUI design, which Sonar and CbB both lack. Yes, Sonar and CbB have a matrix view, but is located in another panel. Bitwig Studio has a similar GUI design for their in-line "Clip Launcher Panel". That company was started by some former Ableton Live developers. For those not familiar, Live has had a Clip Launcher as far back as I can remember, but it is a completely separate view from the arrangement view. Bitwig Studio, and even Acoustica Mixcraft have an in-line launcher now, that lines up with their track, or arranger view. As far as I know, Cakewalk P5 was the first to offer this feature.

Did you happen to notice the byline for that Sweetwater article? Craig Anderton... our former Cakewalk guru in residence under Gibson. ? https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/author/craig_anderton/

Best comment in that article... "But remember, VST3 isn’t a spec like AES/EBU interfaces or the Red Book CD — it’s a set of well-thought-out recommendations. Manufacturers can implement some VST3 attributes, no VST3 attributes, or all VST3 attributes."

The Hammond B-3X was a major upgrade for me from the AIR DB-33. What can I say? It was included in the IK group buy last year. Winning!
