I have been watching some tutorials today on the new features, and following along in Pigments 3. This thing is a beast of a synth, and easy to get into! Thanks for the synth that keeps on giving Arturia! Well done!

I got in early before the rush today, and ASC was running like clockwork at the time. Probably overwhelmed by the crowd later today! FYI, if you already own the new preset banks, you only need to use the store tab in the synth itself to download and install them.

I have reached out to tech support at Applied Acoustic Systems about this issue. According to them, Native Instruments has confirmed that the problem is on their side. I have been able to reproduce this using several different DAWs, including Cakewalk. It is only the Komplete Kontrol DAW plugin that does this, as the standalone KK application appears to work correctly. The synths tested were Chromaphone 3 and Ultra Analog VA-3. To reproduce the bug: 1. Open an instance of the Komplete Kontrol plugin in your DAW. 2. Browse and select a preset for one of the above AAS synths in the KK plugin. The AAS synth GUI should display normally in the KK plugin window. 3. Close the KK plugin window and reopen it. 4. The AAS synth GUI will be blanked out in the KK plugin window.

Pigments is a $199 synth.

For $19, I would easily jump at Diva, Dune 3, Massive X, Phase Plant, and a few others on my wish list that seem to have slipped my mind at the moment, LOL!!!

Not bad at all, because it's half-priced already at $99. I paid that during an Arturia 50% off sale a while back at PIB, and deducted a few bucks with my Jam Points, err, I mean my Virtual Cash. But at $19 it would clearly be charity. ?

You can download banks that you do not own by using the store tab in the synth itself. To hear one, just click the play button on the bank (not the add to cart button). Then you will see a bank description, as well as a few presets that are unlocked that you can play with (while the remainder of the presets remain locked until you buy the bank).

Still $69. The biggest surprise here is that it's packing 6 Tone2 FireBird factory banks among the 2,140 factory sounds. I really liked FireBird, but rarely use it now as it was discontinued and released free at 32-bit. Always wished Tone2 would re-release it as 64-bit and with a larger GUI. Have been looking at other Tone2 synths over the past few years. They have great user interfaces and sound awesome, but are way too expensive and always seem to include too much that I don't care about. This thing hits the sweet spot! Great sounds at a great price. And I even have my FireBird sounds again! It looks like it contains the synth engine from FireBird, and much more! ?

I agree. The spreadsheets (flat files) are actually tables of data, that once properly connected to each other, can become a database.

I got Sonar Producer 8.5 running on a WinXP (32-bit) VM in VirtualBox. The memory is virtualized, as is the CPU, graphics and audio. Good news! Got the USB pass-thru working so that I could attach a USB MIDI controller to the host and assign it in Sonar running in the VM. But I'm pretty sure the latency in this sort of setup is shit. For actual use I would probably go with dual boot and direct connect my MIDI and audio interfaces to the real world, LOL!
