  1. If all you need is a fingered 4-string P-Bass sound, the free Ample P-Bass (virtual instrument plugin) that was mentioned earlier is great. Sounds just like my real Fender P-Bass, but never needs new strings, and always stays in tune! LOL! ? Just plug in your MIDI keyboard, and play away! For free, it's great! Although there are many other options if you want to spend money. I agree on the IK MODO Bass for versatility in that regard. And I just downloaded, but have not tried yet, the free Spitfire Labs Bass Guitar. It will be interesting to see what it's got... Edit: Just tried the Spitfire Bass. It's pretty laid back and dull sounding. Might be cool on some quiet tracks. But I think the Ample P-Bass kicks it's tail.
  2. What host are you using it in? Could be an issue there.

    Should I?

    Is 1,000 plugins too many?
  4. For that you may wish to add Eventide's Blackhole and/or Shimmerverb. On sale elsewhere. Larry's got yer back, LOL!

    Should I?

I think that I've finally narrowed my plugin collection down to a nice round number. When I started Cakewalk today, the plugin scanner said I only have 100 plugins now... ? Whooops! Misread that earlier... it's actually 1000 plugins. ?
  6. Yes, this is a well thought out tool! It's quick to use, and the controls are simplified. ? If there is something that needs adjustment that this doesn't seem to cover, you can always whup out a T-RackS module for that.
  7. I also have T-RackS 5 MAX, and Amplitube 4 MAX, but I don't necessarily view this MixBox as a huge overlap or duplication. This thing is great if you use a lot of virtual instruments! Just slap it on an insert, and your synth has a brand new FX section with 70 FX processors! ? This rack was patterned after the FX rack originally designed for Syntronik and SampleTank 4. Comes with many FX chain presets, and you can add your own, and recall them in any DAW, any synth, or any project. Grab this deal while you can!
  8. Thanks for confirming that. ST4 (4.14) standalone seems to be fine here today. Dang Gremlins! Must have been the reboot I did this morning. What was weird is that MIDI-OX saw incoming MIDI data, and SampleTank3 standalone worked fine.
  9. I sometimes use KK as a plugin, so that is a nice plus. Unfortunately the KK plugin is currently not playing nice with the AAS v3 synths (disappearing synth GUI). AAS support says the problem is on the NI end.
  10. Is it just me, but did the latest update to ST4 kill the MIDI input to the standalone version? it was working fine before, but now since the update the standalone app won't recognize ANY of my controllers! Not really a showstopper, because I usually use ST4 as a plugin, and that still works. But I am curious!

Like today. I'm really, really glad that I never paid for Waves Codex. Although I already had several other Waves instruments and wanted to add to the collection, and I was tempted. But today I added Waves Codex for free! Thanks to cclarry and Beat Mag! ?
  12. Cherry Audio is awesome. And I am a fan of Humble Bundle. Picking up Voltage Modular Ignite for $30 is a great deal! You can still get Voltage Modular Nucleus for free, but Ignite offers more! Retails for $50. But if you are going there, you'll probably want Core for $99. ? Comparison: https://cherryaudio.com/voltage-modular/support/module-comparison
  13. Well EDM and hip hop are not really my thing, as I'm more of a classic rock guy.. But I recently upgraded to Ableton Live 11 Suite (and have had Live since v5), and I like to experiment with music and sound design. And I've got to say that this feature is a serious missing link in Cakewalk, which I have had for over 20 years.
  14. I gotcha. They are not listed in Windows under the Waves folder, where I would expect to find them. Doh! But each synth is listed alphabetically under their own names in the start menu in Win 10. I have several of the others, including Elements, Flow Motion, and Bass Fingers.
  15. I got the AAS email today.
  16. Agreed, but this implies that you are only running currently supported software. I get the impression that a lot of folks are still running end of life products. So incompatibilities may abound.
  17. Don't think so. I've got several Waves virtual instruments, and they are all only plugins. There are a few standalone programs you can try for VST plugins like VSTHost. https://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm
  18. I think the goal of many is to request an integrated sampler in Cakewalk, such as ones that exist in Ableton Live, and a few other DAWs. There are things that native sampler integration offers as far as workflow that cannot be achieved with a plug-in. It's really that simple, but not often understood by those looking in from the outside, thinking a sampler is a sampler. Not.
  19. The update is referred to as Hybrid 3 Version 2020 update. The product itself is still shown as Hybrid 3 on the AIR website.
  20. I believe that he actually meant "integration", rather than "synchronization"...
  21. What the heck is Hybrid 2020 in the headline? If you read the details it still refers to Hybrid 3.0.
