  1. I sometimes use KK as a plugin, so that is a nice plus. Unfortunately the KK plugin is currently not playing nice with the AAS v3 synths (disappearing synth GUI). AAS support says the problem is on the NI end.
  2. Is it just me, but did the latest update to ST4 kill the MIDI input to the standalone version? it was working fine before, but now since the update the standalone app won't recognize ANY of my controllers! Not really a showstopper, because I usually use ST4 as a plugin, and that still works. But I am curious!

    Should I?

Like today. I'm really, really glad that I never paid for Waves Codex. Although I already had several other Waves instruments and wanted to add to the collection, and I was tempted. But today I added Waves Codex for free! Thanks to cclarry and Beat Mag! ?
  4. Cherry Audio is awesome. And I am a fan of Humble Bundle. Picking up Voltage Modular Ignite for $30 is a great deal! You can still get Voltage Modular Nucleus for free, but Ignite offers more! Retails for $50. But if you are going there, you'll probably want Core for $99. ? Comparison: https://cherryaudio.com/voltage-modular/support/module-comparison
  5. Well EDM and hip hop are not really my thing, as I'm more of a classic rock guy.. But I recently upgraded to Ableton Live 11 Suite (and have had Live since v5), and I like to experiment with music and sound design. And I've got to say that this feature is a serious missing link in Cakewalk, which I have had for over 20 years.
  6. I gotcha. They are not listed in Windows under the Waves folder, where I would expect to find them. Doh! But each synth is listed alphabetically under their own names in the start menu in Win 10. I have several of the others, including Elements, Flow Motion, and Bass Fingers.
  7. I got the AAS email today.
  8. Agreed, but this implies that you are only running currently supported software. I get the impression that a lot of folks are still running end of life products. So incompatibilities may abound.
  9. Don't think so. I've got several Waves virtual instruments, and they are all only plugins. There are a few standalone programs you can try for VST plugins like VSTHost. https://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm
  10. I think the goal of many is to request an integrated sampler in Cakewalk, such as ones that exist in Ableton Live, and a few other DAWs. There are things that native sampler integration offers as far as workflow that cannot be achieved with a plug-in. It's really that simple, but not often understood by those looking in from the outside, thinking a sampler is a sampler. Not.
  11. The update is referred to as Hybrid 3 Version 2020 update. The product itself is still shown as Hybrid 3 on the AIR website.
  12. I believe that he actually meant "integration", rather than "synchronization"...
  13. What the heck is Hybrid 2020 in the headline? If you read the details it still refers to Hybrid 3.0.
  14. Up and running with Waves Codex now. Pretty sure at this point that I will never need Serum... There are tons of interesting sequences, arpeggios, and motion patches. Days of fun ahead!
  15. I just clicked the "English" link at the top of all pages. No problemo here!
  16. It is issue #182 with the Codex. Unfortunately Beat Mag has blocked all gmail address from registering the software. I had to whup out an alternate Yahoo mailbox to get the Waves serial #. Edit: to clarify the email block message that I received from Beat, they said there had been a lot of fake registrations using Gmail to steal licenses, so they were blocking them. Suggested using an alternate, or to contact their support to get my Gmail address authenticated.
  17. I've been using AIR and Sonivox products for 5 years, mostly trouble-free, and they are a good bang for the buck. But I have learned since that there are other virtual instrument companies out there that try way harder to win and keep your business. YMMV, of course.
  18. inMusic Brands. IMHO, where good companies go to die. Besides AIR and Sonivox, they also own Akai, M-Audio, Alesis, and others including BFD... YMMV... https://www.inmusicbrands.com/

  21. Jump on it quick! $49 is a great price! But this deal appears to be excluded from the 'May2021' discount code. It's still a great deal anyway!
  22. Sounds like if you are making beats like cclarry, you can be easily impressed!
  23. Focusrite Scarlett has a very good factory ASIO driver. I rely on it daily! ? Since you already have the Scarlett Solo, just download the latest drivers from the Focusrite site, and you are good to go!
