  1. On your main toolbar section , Is your metronome turned on for both playback and recording ?
  2. Great flowing song Bruce . Very smooth and it sounded Very well sung. I think the vocals are just over processed. If it's not baked in I'd just pull the effects off and re-evaluate them. I think the pitch needs to be a Lot looser. They were just too perfect and you couldn't hear any climb up to the notes. Still , Very impressive especially for an early mix. I thought all the instrumentation was Great. I Loved the Surf sounding guitars. Enjoyed it .. mark

Tight ! That was some wonderful funked up jazz and a Superior mix and master. How much hard panning do you use ? Loved it .. mark
  4. Great Job ! I instantly got the same vibe as the original had. You vocals are Way better than you think they are. It was Real nice hearing this again .. mark
  5. Good one Lee ! I especially liked the bridge and lead break. That's quite a nice concept. If you've got writers block , Write a song about having writers block ! You can't lose. I Really enjoyed it .. mark
  6. Totally Amazing vocal range. I Really liked the long vocal reverb tails overlapping the lead breaks. Very Nice .. mark
  7. Yes the midi instruments will follow the key change. I've only done it once , but first I bounced to track the midi drums beforehand not knowing how they would react. I guess freezing would have also worked on the drums. I assume it would work the same on a groove clip. ms

    Sunny Day

Another Beautiful song Rex. I Really liked the laid back James Taylor type feel you got out of this one. I do think the main vox could use a little more "air" EQ wise and I was wanting to hear a little reverb swell when all the high harmony parts danced. The verb part would just be a mixing choice , not that it really needed it. You've been on a Fantastic roll . Loved it mark
  9. Makke , Excellent job! This one makes me want to grab a surfboard. Nice playing. mark
  10. Cool song Freddy , I believe you could also tag this one #experimental. I thought the chaos in it was fitting for the subject matter. I agree it could use a little clean up. For me I thought the "left" guitar could be backed off when the lead guitar comes in , with the lead replacing it in the stereo field. I Really liked the energy here. Enjoyed it .. mark
  11. Looks to me like someone made some sort of revision to your song and is now claiming credit for the remix. But since they mentioned you in the post and locked it for comments , it doesn't look to me like an attempt to steal it. It was a VERY bad decision on their part to put it in a separate post without your permission. Sometimes it's done here , but done in the original post as a suggestion or just trying to help someone with a mix. Sometimes a person will take one of your Soundcloud songs and link it to their page , but they don't try and get any credit for it. May just be an innocent mistake , but If you don't like it they will probably take it down if bombarded with personal messages. ms
  12. Great job on a not so easy to sing song. I really like the Power in your vocals. This one sure took me back Enjoyed it .. mark
  13. I now "surrender" . The new links now reflect a final mix. Thanks to All of you .. mark
  14. Ambient Jazz Funk .. All of my favorites . You can't lose with that combination. Great musical production and visual. As far as the horns in the second section , I thought they might be a "tiny" bit hot but they also had a nice "effect" . I thought the First horns that came in (before the electric piano), were the ones that needing lowering . All of the instruments sounded Amazing. I Really enjoyed the entire production , the neon PhonoBrainer sign at the end was a Nice touch. mark
  15. Chandler , Amazing guitar work ! I loved the directions it went with the different change ups. Great drum track as well. I think you can skip practice , and just keep recording and posting. That was an Awesome performance. mark
  16. @Jimbo 88 Thanks for the feedback. I've done another remix and put it a step closer to the first mix that I posted. While doing It , I settled down the drums quite a bit. I normally get along nicely with the TTS brush kit but I've had problems working in3/4 time. @Lynn Wilson Thanks for the compliments , I think I'm calling this one "done" for now. I need to get away from it before I Really mess it up. I think I'm going to start using Soundcloud for early mixes and Sounclick for the final mix. I really liked the streaming quality of your last song . Thanks mark

    Anyway

Another Masterpiece , I Loved the quick change at 0:48 , the heavily reverbed guitar break , and the quick piano change at the outro. All of them were Very creative. The kick and low percussion was perfect for this song. And then there are the Vocals ! You sounded very relaxed and the highs were Awesome .. mark
  18. Welcome back Lynn , from the sound of this one you need to break your computer more often ! Fantastic everywhere. I really liked the vocals and your choice of reverb. Great guitar work as well. You sure came back Strong. Killer job .. mark
  19. That sounded like a Really fun jam. I thought the slide guitar was real nice. I must admit I had to google melodica . I had no clue what one was. Sounds like with some processing it could easily be used for some Cajun or Zydeco music . Enjoyed it .. mark
  20. Hello guys , Thank You All for the Wonderful comments and suggestions! After listening and before anyone posted I started a remix. @garybrun I went back to mono and made some volume changes. I dropped the vocals 1.8 DB and moved a few phrases to get them more on point. First impressions are usually correct .. @Larry T. Thanks for your comment , I almost did a harmonica track but didn't have one in the right key. @Bert Guy I found the wood block , tambourine and the snare annoying and tamed them all. @jwnicholson78 I remember doing this one in a smoky piano bar , it was always requested when I'd play there. Good times .. @noynekker Thanks , that means a lot to me to come from a singer with your talent. The cigarettes are probably the reason I had to drop this a step and a half to get it sung .. @SupaReels that was quite a compliment , one of my favorites to do was a Joe Cocker/BB King song. May try it again someday. @Paul Bush I Really appreciate it , you've been on a roll yourself lately ! Thanks again , there's probably still room for improvement. mark
  21. Hello , I've been in a writing lull so I thought I'd do a jazz standard I used to perform. Weapons - TTS brush kit and upright bass , SI strings , Keyzone Classic piano , G&L tremolo electric and Godin nylon guitar. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and Any help on this one . Everything has been reworked. Special Thanks to @markno999 for additional drum work. Additional mixing and Mastering by @garybrun We Surrender .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14389141
  22. Some Really cool changes in this one Jack. One of the repeating changes really sounds like a Bowie move. I think a few spots could use some vocal volume automation , but nothing drastic or a deal breaker. I Really liked the song and the instrumentation. The mix sounded nice as well. Enjoyed it .. mark
  23. Gary , Great cover! Sure was nice hearing your deep "silky" vocals again. Sounded like a pro studio mix. I really enjoyed your take on this .. mark
  24. If I'm understanding you correctly , it sounds to me like your "snap to grid" setting isn't allowing you to drag the clip exactly where you want it ?? If this is the case , zoom in and turn the snap off.
  25. I believe that was taking "clear and smooth" to a new height for me. Chill for sure , it was all Beautiful .. mark
