  1. Hello , is anyone here using Bias FX2 "offline" in CbB ?? On sale 1/2 off for a few more days. Thanks .. mark
  2. Freddy , I Really enjoyed that ! It kept me Smiling to the end for a good reason. We used to have band practice here at my place . My drummer called me after getting home late one afternoon. My wife had taped a big sign on his passenger door. "For an adequate time call Ron" with his cell number on it , he got several calls . His wife loved it. Loved the song .. mark
  3. That was one Killer well written song Barry. I enjoyed Every second of it. That was the 2nd best kazoo solo I've Ever heard. Fantastic job ! Hope you're doing well and glad you're back .. mark
  4. Great Job on this! You always pick the greatest songs to cover. Thanks for sharing this , I haven't heard it in a decade but for some reason it's been popping in and out of my head for about a month now .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  5. I Love the vocals in this one. There's a few spots where the harmony choices remind me of the group "Yes". I think this is one of your best ones. As far as the drums , it seemed to me like from 2:23 to the end , it was more apparent they needed some phat. Great song .. mark edit: I missed the response from Kevin Walsh about the "Yes" reference. I guess it is Confirmed and a Really good thing. I also searched for the instrumental version with no luck.. I was just curious how you transformed it into this Great mix that sounds like it was written with the vocals in mind. Different title ?? Thanks .. mark
  6. Mix 3 is now a much "wider" mix and also has a lot better interaction between the L/R channels. Mix 2 sounds Way too narrow now. I don't know what I was thinking.. Thanks Gary. I'm toying with some electric parts but I'm satisfied with this mix for now. Thanks for all the comments and advice. mark
  7. @Makke and @Bajan Blue Thanks for the nice comments , means a lot to me. @garybrun Good call. My L/R main guitars are set at 44% the lead and mandolins are narrower. I'll for sure see how far I can widen the mix and still sound good with headphones. Thanks .. mark
  8. @John Vere Thanks for the compliment! What I Really like about Grisman's music is the jazz like fiddle he mixes in with the bluegrass sounds. I may try and play one again someday. @jack c. Thanks , I know you're a great Funk artist yourself. @KSband I Really Appreciate the input. I've been trying key changes but Nothing is working. This morning I re recorded the second lead section that was a copy of the first one. That seemed to help break it up a "little". I also dropped the first cowbell rest , panned the lead acoustic and mandolin closer to center. The link now reflects changes I made. This is now "Mix 2". Thank You for listening and commenting mark
  9. @noynekker Thanks Bruce. I Always appreciate your input. I absolutely Love playing mandolin. I'm not a Real player and the only time I pick it up is when I'm recording. I added it after deleting electric guitar and keys. As far as the cowbell I tried first for silence , but wanted more. This was originally about a 2 min. instrumental and the only one we ever did when I played in a duo doing the harmony band thing. I had to dig thru a lot of dormant brain cells trying to reproduce the song. It's hard for me to make direction changes when in an alternate tuning. I'm sure I'll make a few changes. Thanks mark
  10. @Larry T. @Kevin Walsh , Thanks guys for commenting. I agree with you Larry about some more variation in the structure. As usual I ran out of steam about half way thru and started repeating sections with minor variations. Kevin the drums were AD2 with a TTS cowbell. It was hard to keep the bass from sounding like it was strung with a piece of barbed wire. I was tuned a half step low And in dropped D. Anyway .. Thank You .. mark
  11. Hello , here's a new instrumental based on one I wrote 40 years ago. It has now transformed into an "Acoustic Funk" song featuring my Takamine , mandolin and Ibanez bass. Any help on this one will be Greatly appreciated. Mix 3 is now "wider" and added a backing electric track. Thanks for your time .. mark
  12. I didn't know Chris Rock could sing that well. Very Creative ! I think you're on to something here for future YouTube audio/video shorts. There's a world of new material to choose from .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  13. Lee , Great job on a fun sounding song . The years are flying by now , and I still don't feel any older. I absolutely Loved the way you ended the song. Nice harmony. Happy Birthday .. mark

    So Good

Extremely good job on the vocals and main break. I think one thing it ended up as is being somewhat "punk" even with the synth. I'd like to hear it with horns .. I'm not sure the short lead section at 2:36 was inline with the feel of the rest of the song up to that point. ?? Fantastic job exploring .. mark
  15. Clint , Very Solid track. I thought it was pretty unusual the way you sang it but it worked Nice. The drums and bass laid a great bed to play against. Tasty guitar work .. enjoyed it .. mark

    Dis Chord

Kurt , I looked at Bias FX and a few more after listening to your song. I've found that most of the great tones I've been wanting to reproduce seem to be coming from high end pedal boards. I was surprised to hear this was FX. I could probably do a better job with TH3 than I have in the past. One question is do you use a centered stereo track for breaks like in this one ? Also forgot to mention I'm a big fan of the fretless. Thanks .. mark

    Dis Chord

Kurt , Loved the tone and reverb on the horn that comes in on the right side of the mix . The guitar tone was Awesome and I really liked the "bite" you got on the attacks. I Really need some more tools for electric guitar processing. Thanks for the nice listen .. mark
  18. Very Nice Andy .. I Really liked the laid back "living on the Island" feel. I see why he had a nice following in Bermuda. I thought the your vocals were very impressive. Enjoyed it .. mark
  19. Beautiful Jane. Young heart , old soul. I believe you and the Messiah will always get along .. mark
  20. Bruce , Absolutely Fantastic ! You guys make a Great team. I can't believe the quality of your vocals. I especially like the short falsetto parts. My mix suggestions would be that I think you need some de-essing. It seems a little more apparent in the early part of the song. I also think you need a volume boost from 1:49 to 2:16. This section could use a little more drive on some of the instruments until the vocals come back in. Incredible Song and Production ! This is one of the Best I've heard here. mark
  21. @Don CobbI installed it via flash drive on an off line pc. It went to C\program Files\VST plugins\Bitsonic\keyzone classic .dll Have you checked the plugin Mgnr. to see if it's excluded ? (VSTI instruments). I've used it on a couple of projects , sounds decent. Good luck .. mark
  22. I thought you did a Very Good job with this song. The vocals were very impressive in this nice mix. I recently watched a video (from somewhere) and it showed some major record labels and publishing company's that actually had a team of "listeners" seeking out copywrite violations on different platforms along with their AI. Enjoyed the song .. mark
  23. Great immigrant song . I think it's the Native Americans who should have built a wall.. I used to own a syncaset but seems like it was a Teak. Still own an Tascam 8 track cassette recorder and a suitcase full of tapes. Nice job bringing life back to your old but still relevant song . Enjoyed it .. mark

    SMO

I Really like the light hearted smooth feel of this song. Great lyrics/Great writing ! Reminded me a little of some early works by Stephen Bishop. Very Nice .. mark
  25. Kevin , Great track ! I loved the vocal doubling using the low voice , and the airy delay/verb treatment you used. (??) Lovely bass line as well. Enjoyed it .. mark
