  1. Great job on the Goya. I didn't realize they also made a steel string version. They and You captured a nice clear nylon sound. As far as the shaker goes , with a real one , the first rattles come into play when you first start moving , but the actual "on time beat" is when you quickly Stop and snap your wrist to a dead stop. It seems to me like just about all the Vst's place the instruments sound incorrectly at at the start , instead of the dead stop at the end . It must be hard to program or they would have addressed it by now .. or maybe it's just me .. ? Enjoyed it again .. mark
  2. Hello , here's a simple instrumental I've been working on for Way too long. Having a little Spanish feel , I named it after a long gone horse we used to own. Any help on this one will be appreciated. I've gotten a little too close to it. Thank You .. mark
  3. Great one Barry ! Fantastic vocal quality on this one (as usual). I did feel like the shaker sounded behind the beat. I've always had to move them a little forward , especially if recording the shaker from the metronome section. I absolutely Loved the lead break nylon sounding acoustic. I would really like to know how you captured and processed it. Great Job on a fantastic song . Enjoyed it .. mark
  4. Wookie , that was a Very creative and Highly interesting production. Very nice trippy lyrics. I believe I would try a vocal "whisper" track on top of the vocoder with your Raum Airy reverb. The printed lyrics were a big help but you "might" be able to whisper them. I Really enjoyed it .. mark
  5. Beautiful mix. I honestly don't know how this could be improved at all. Nice .. mark
  6. Very nice performance and mix ! I personally don't hear anything that needs any further attention. I Love the "air" in the vocals. Enjoyed it .. mark
  7. Keith, Really nice changes in this version. Enjoyed the lead guitar as well. mark
  8. I think you are now singing With confidence , and that makes a Big difference..
  9. Another Great vocal job! I loved the note choice at 1:46. You've for sure done some Fantastic stuff this year. Powerful drum track , didn't sound like a typical waltz. I'd like to hear you belt out some blues sometime .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  10. Is it recording your voice "and" what's coming from your speakers or are you just using headphones ?
  11. Beautiful arrangement and melody. Loved it ! mark
  12. Tim , I Really liked the feel of this. The right guitar is a little off timing wise in a couple of spots and I think it could use some fast compression to ease the attacks a little. The flute was "fantastic" I loved the note drops and bends. Great job! mark
  13. Great Job on this one Keith. I Really liked your vocals and the quality of them on this song. Nice mix. I do think your vocal is getting covered up a little , Especially on the 1st verse. Enjoyed it .. mark
  14. You have a great Heavy feel to this one. I especially liked the driving handclaps all the way thru. Great creativity! I Really liked the song and performance. mark

    Biased

@jwnicholson78 and @Wookiee Thanks guys for the listen and comments. @KSband I agree with you. After uploading this to Soundcloud the first time , I took it down and re-panned the guitars. In the process I backed off the lead guitar a little. I was wondering myself if I overdid it. Appreciate the suggestion and will address it later. Thanks .. mark

    Biased

Hello , I Finally got this one ready to submit. My main objective was to learn about acoustic IR's to record my "go to" thin bodied Washburn Monterey Studio acoustic using the piezo pickup. It's panned to the left and the IR made a Huge difference. My nylon Godin Hybrid is panned to the right. I bought the basic version of Bias FX and used it on my G&L ASAT. After profiling my neck pickup I used a PRS guitar match setting. After finding and modifying a lead preset I got sounds and sustain that I've never heard from this guitar. Awesome software Any crits and suggestions for improvement are welcomed. This is a New mix with added MT Power drum tracks. Thanks .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/biased?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
  17. Great Job ! This was nice and smooth. You do a Great job with cover songs but this is even better. Enjoyed it .. mark
  18. Very Nice .. A lot of cool stuff going on . Loved it .. mark
  19. Very Nice ! I Love the chorus melody and you did a Very good job on the vocals. My mix suggestion would be to tame the vocal reverb a little (with more pre delay). It's a little hollow sounding. I would also boost it up a little. Enjoyed it .. Great job .. mark
  20. Very well done Barry. I Really liked the way you carved out the space for the bass and drums. I thought it was Very well written and you sang it with conviction. No crits or suggestions .. mark
  21. Great job ! I thought you did a Very nice job on the vocals. You should do more guitar , great tone and playing. I really enjoyed it .. mark
  22. Justin , Very Nice job. She has a Beautiful voice with a Really nice quality and overtones. I do think the quick passages had a little too much pitch correction , taking a little bit away from the performance. It sounded like it was auto tune as opposed to melodyne. The piano was Very well played. My biggest pet peave is not including a couple seconds of silence before a song begins. All that being said , I think it was a beautiful song and well done. Really looking forward to hearing more from you and your daughter. Welcome to the forum .. Enjoyed it .. mark
  23. Thanks for searching. I just did a google search of the song title and Cakewalk. Went straight to it. Posted in 2019. Everybody seems to know him. @RikF . I'll check further.. Thanks .. mark
  24. Does anybody know if "Rick F " is still around ? I'm Finally thinking about posting a song that He did just noodling around on a slow traditional blues song titled "Blind Boy Blues". I learned his licks and after 3 months of recording , I got it done. He gave me his blessing and permission to repost it and said , "He thought it wasn't really a structured song but just playing around". I felt funny about it , and never did. I've recently revisited the mix and think it would be a nice tribute to his playing. I can't find a way to contact him. I know he was having Major vision problems when he posted it. Thanks .. mark
