  1. Hello , I've been in a writing lull so I thought I'd do a jazz standard I used to perform. Weapons - TTS brush kit and upright bass , SI strings , Keyzone Classic piano , G&L tremolo electric and Godin nylon guitar. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and Any help on this one . Everything has been reworked. Special Thanks to @markno999 for additional drum work. Additional mixing and Mastering by @garybrun We Surrender .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14389141
  2. Some Really cool changes in this one Jack. One of the repeating changes really sounds like a Bowie move. I think a few spots could use some vocal volume automation , but nothing drastic or a deal breaker. I Really liked the song and the instrumentation. The mix sounded nice as well. Enjoyed it .. mark
  3. Gary , Great cover! Sure was nice hearing your deep "silky" vocals again. Sounded like a pro studio mix. I really enjoyed your take on this .. mark
  4. If I'm understanding you correctly , it sounds to me like your "snap to grid" setting isn't allowing you to drag the clip exactly where you want it ?? If this is the case , zoom in and turn the snap off.
  5. I believe that was taking "clear and smooth" to a new height for me. Chill for sure , it was all Beautiful .. mark

Lovely and to the point. I Really liked the kick drum especially in the first sections. I actually liked the vocal processing and how it sounded like you were close and singing quietly . It sounded natural as it would without adding too much reverb. Enjoyed the laid back listen .. mark
  7. I Really enjoyed that and wasn't ready for it to end. Nice touch putting in the oriental sounding phrases. Great photos as well . One thing I didn't like was , I recently did a song about living on a Mars colony and just noticed , I referred to one of the moons of "Saturn". Very Nice .. mark
  8. Great Song ! I loved the Power and also the Collins feel. I'm sure you'll play with the vocals more until you are satisfied. Have you ever tried a "whisper track" under the vocals for air? Sometimes it works great on select phrases. I'll sure be keeping an eye on this one . new subscriber .. mark
  9. Paul , a Rocker for sure ! Great guitar work and Very nice vocals. I feel the pain as far as the song's subject matter, I've tried to stop watching so much of the news here in the US. I'd look at 1:43 , it's sounding like more than a bass growl. You've come up with a top notch song here again .. Enjoyed it . mark
  10. Hey Gary , If this is your 1st mix I can't wait to hear how it changes. It already sounds Great ! Anything over a dozen tracks , I start getting confused. It sounds nice and balanced . No suggestions from me at this stage. Great Job .. mark
  11. Great song and vocals ! I'm surprised this one didn't come up sooner .. Very Nice. mark

Very Soothing and suspenseful at the same time. Kinda how Blade Runner music affects me. Great Job everywhere . mark
  13. @Cecelius2 I also use 44.1 in my DAW , but whenever I "import" a 48 khz wav file into a project , CbB automatically converts it to 44.1 Watch the top of the screen and you'll see a progress bar while it converts it. It happens pretty fast on my system. I do remember one time it didn't do it and I had timing problems. Deleted and reimported the file and it converted it the second time. I've never seen it but there may be a setting in preferences for this .. mark
  14. Hi Treesha , I gave it a couple of listens when you first posted it , but didn't want to prematurely respond with my first impressions. My first was the upfront vocals. I thought it was more of a reverb issue rather than volume. Second was the lack of a bass guitar. Played slowly and sustaining I think it would add a lot to the mix. Anyway .. both were confirmed. It's a great song and I think you sang it Very well. Hope to hear a remix .. Enjoyed it mark
  15. Great Job covering one of my favorite Beatles songs ! Very impressive especially for an early mix. Really Nice .. mark

Killer song ! I really liked the guitar/sax doubling , the Great guitar tone and of course the bass line. Your bass player Nailed it and I really liked the tasty filtering he used. Excellent mix ! mark
  17. Fantastic collection ! It's real nice to hear them all in one spot. You Always choose the greatest songs to cover , and usually not very "easy" ones. Thanks for all the work on this . Awesome .. mark
  18. "Feel good" and dance in the village music for sure. I love Irish music and you hit the spot here. I love this style but it has always eluded me as far as playing it. Great Job ! mark
  19. Those were some Really Cool reverse tactics. Very smooth. Time to sing one backwards .. Loved it .. mark
  20. Very Cool and fun sounding song. It sounded like about 10 people on stage. I've never used bandlab mastering but I like the way they retained the lows on this one. Especially on the kick. Enjoyed it .. mark
  21. Great job on the lyrics and vocals ! I thought the lead breaks and guitar tones were awesome. Really impressive song. mark

Fantastic ! That was one of the best drum/bass lock in's that I've ever heard. Yeah , the entire production is right up there with the top notch jazz bands like Weather Report. Nice .. mark
  23. One thing to check is go back to the plugin manager and check the "excluded" files for VSTs as well. I've seen a few get put there for some reason or the other. They can usually be "enabled" on the same page. After reloading CbB the first time after a Vst install you can usually see the new plugin being scanned at start up , and see your plugin count change. Make sure the DLL file "is" in the scan path.
  24. Jack , You hit the right spot on the vocals. Beautiful tones and Well sung. I found the song Very relaxing. Great job to @DeeringAmps for the finishing touches. It didn't sound crushed at all to me with still plenty of headroom. To @jack c. , my only recommendation would be to start putting a couple seconds of silence , and a "slight" fade into the start of "all" of your future songs. Excellent job on this one. I Really enjoyed it .. mark
  25. Steve, Extremely Nice Song ! I too am picking up that great Paul Simon feel. I think you have your Fantastic vocals mixed in Perfectly. The mix sounds Real good . (getting picky) the one thing I was wanting was to hear was that almost reversed sounding filtered drum part to be spread out more or sweeping more to the right side of the mix . Wondering if it was just my imagination , I swapped my headphones around backwards , and thought it sounded Way better sitting static but on the right side. ?? Something to consider if you do a remix. I Loved it .. mark
